Chapter 17: The Day of Gathering
The first person to walk out of the hotel was Parker. After leaving the hotel, the guy quickly crossed the street and walked straight towards Pete's car.
Pete looked like he was going to get into the car, so he unlocked the door, and Parker opened the back door directly after walking to the car, sat in the back seat, and said while looking at the direction of the hotel door: "These people must have come to learn something about him." Definitely not to check on him. ”
As Parker spoke, three people stepped out of the hotel door. One of the three was the one Pete had recognized, the one who had left the restaurant with the target at noon. The three of them walked and talked, and after a while they came to the car. Before getting into the car, Pete saw the faces of the other two clearly.
Both men were supposed to be in their thirties, tall and formal, dressed in suits and ties, and one of them wore a pair of glasses and a notebook bag, as if they were civil servants. It's just that both of them are expressionless and look very serious. After a brief exchange of words between the three of them after arriving at the car, the man who had appeared with the target in the Greek restaurant took a few steps back and watched the two get into the car, and only after the car drove away did he turn around and walk back towards the hotel.
"I don't think there's something wrong with that." Pete said with some concern: "The two people who came out must not be people related to that guy's work, but more like surveillance, or reverse osmosis." Did you get some rumors at this time, or did the target do something that attracted people's attention? ”
"It's hard to say." Parker shook his head and said, "Maybe we're not the only ones who hit them." With that, Parker reached out and opened the car door and said, "I'll go in and have a look." ”
Pete watched as Parker quickly re-entered the hotel, but it wasn't long before Parker and his fellow Arab walked out of the hotel one after the other. After the man walked to the door of the hotel, he asked for a taxi with the help of the waiter, and after seeing the man leave, Parker came back to the car and sat in the back seat again.
The two chatted in the café for a while, but it didn't seem to be anything particularly important. Now that guy is upstairs, he shouldn't be coming out again tonight. Parker said, glancing at the time, and then continued, "Those who left before, it's better to remember what they look like." Maybe you'll meet them again later. After saying that, he sighed and said, "That's it, I have to go sleep for a while." I'm too old to bear it. You're staring here. ”
Pete didn't say anything more after answering, and after Parker got out of the car, he saw the guy take out the phone and start making a phone as he walked. It can be seen that this guy is not as calm as he appeared, and he should be reporting to someone what just happened at this moment.
It wasn't long before Parker disappeared into the rearview mirror, and Pete withdrew his gaze to look back in the direction of the hotel, and it was the night. It wasn't until six o'clock the next morning that Parker called again.
"Happy Feast Day." After Pete answered the phone, Parker came first.
Pete smiled helplessly: "You finally woke up?" Can you find something to eat? I'm hungry and sleepy right now. ”
"Yes. Arrange it right away. Parker was silent for a moment and then said, "How about it, nothing happened last night, right?" ”
"Nope. It was very peaceful. Nothing happened except for a few patrolling police cars driving down the street. Pete said.
"Okay. See you later. I'm going to get something to eat right away. Parker hung up.
Pete put away the phone and adjusted his sitting position again. This night's surveillance has made his ass numb, and the whole person is very uncomfortable, and what he needs most now is someone for him for a while, so that he can walk around freely and move his legs and feet.
Fortunately, Parker didn't let him wait too long, and about half an hour later, Parker walked to the car with a paper bag, this time he didn't sit in the back seat, but went directly to the co-pilot's seat, and sat in the car after pulling the car door.
Pete glanced at what Parker had brought, and it was the same junk fast food again. He reached out and took the burger that Parker handed over and said, "How's it going?" ”
"It's good." Parker said: "As soon as the glasses are closed, the sky is already dark when they are opened. ”
Pete smiled and said, "If only I could do the same." ”
"Don't worry. As long as you don't get into the horns yourself, there will be a day. Parker said, glancing at the hotel gate and said, "This guy should be out at nine o'clock in the morning and go to the mosque." ”
"Nine in the morning?" Pete looked at Parker in confusion and said, "Shouldn't the day of worship start in the afternoon?" ”
"Huh." Parker looked at Pete and said, "It seems that you are not in vain in the Middle East." In addition to not speaking Arabic, he knows a lot of other things. After saying that, he nodded and continued, "You are right. But this guy doesn't just have to pray, he has other things to do. ”
Pete nodded and said, "Understood." After saying that, he quickly took a few bites of the hamburger and said, "Then I won't have a chance to sleep for a while." ”
"Huh." Parker smiled and said, "You can go back today." Hold on to it. ”
Pete nodded, put down the hamburger in his hand, opened the car door, and said, "I need to go to the event and smoke another cigarette." ”
"Let's go." Parker said, glancing at the time, and said, "You can move around for an hour." After that I had to go to the hotel. ”
"Still going in?" Pete asked, puzzled, "Do what?" ”
"Go check it out. Have a casual breakfast. Parker smiled.
"Breakfast?" Pete said and glanced at the hot dog in his hand, which seemed to say, "You went to the hotel for breakfast?" I'm nibbling on this here? ”
Parker looked at Pete and smiled, "Don't look at me like that. I'm more suitable than you are for such a place. But then he put away his smile and said with some concern: "I thought about it last night, maybe there may be a problem in this matter, although most of it has nothing to do with us, but since we found out, we have to be careful, so I want to see and make sure that no one has arranged for someone to target this person without us inadvertently." ”
Pete looked at Parker and said, "It seems that you didn't sleep as well as you said." ”
"Let's go." Parker smiled and said, "Smoke a cigarette, be active, and it's best to solve the internal urgency." I'm here to keep an eye on you. ”
At nine o'clock in the morning, the Arab man appeared in front of the hotel on time, and Parker followed the fellow out and walked all the way to the side of the road.
