Chapter 129: Before Returning Home (Part I)

Jingxi, see Shinsai.

Gao Pragmatic had just come out of the palace, and instead of returning to Gao Gong's Great Bachelor's Mansion, he rushed to the suburban courtyard he had been given.

Yesterday, Gao Gong asked him to take leave, and he wrote a few Chen, except for one that was directly handed over to Gao Gong, the rest were sent to Zhu Xizhong, Shen Shixing and Zhang Siwei - Gao Gong and Zhu Xizhong are the chief civil and military officials who know the prince's scriptures, and Shen Shixing is the actual person in charge of the banquet with the prince, and Zhang Siwei is Gao Shizheng, a "fake bachelor", a serious official, so the leave note Chen can't be left behind, and all of them must be handed over.

Early this morning, Gao Pragmatic entered the palace again and asked the prince for leave in person, but Zhu Yijun didn't dare to be the master, so he hurriedly asked Chen Ju to run away and ask Longqing.

Long Qing heard that Gao Shishi was going to return to his hometown for the exam, so naturally he would not be forced to stay, even if he was allowed to take a vacation. However, Zhu Yijun didn't meet Gao Shishi for a month, and he refused to let him leave immediately, and he had to ask him to accompany him to finish today's class before leaving.

Although Gao Pragmatic still had a lot of things to deal with, it was not easy to save the prince's face, so he had to accompany him honestly to finish the class.

The lecturer for today's lesson is Gu Yangqian, and he is talking about the Analects. To be precise, he didn't actually "speak" much, but taught Zhu Yijun to read "The Analects of Politics, Part II".

Of course, Zhu Yijun is literate, and there are no words in the political chapter that he does not know, but the arrangement of this lesson is still to teach "reading" by the official every day. Here we must talk about the problem of educational methods at this time.

The reason why the ancients called reading books, rather than reading and learning books, is that the key is to reflect the importance of "reading". In ancient times, these articles must be read out loud when studying, the so-called loud book, modulated and frustrated, the more you read, the more energetic, the more you read, the clearer your thinking, and the more you read, the more you can feel the true meaning of the book. When you read it smoothly, it's like singing, and you get the feeling directly from the sound.

Since Chinese is a combination of monophonic words, and there are five tones: yin, yang, up, go, and in, which makes the pronunciation of ancient Chinese articles have a distinct sense of musical rhythm. The rhythm reverberates harmoniously, sounds good, reads smoothly, and creates conditions for the emergence of various poems and rhymes, such as the neatness of language and writing, and the harmony of peace, which is an art in itself and extremely beautiful. The reason why Baguwen can be produced is also one of the prerequisites.

Although the use of what the prince learned is different from what ordinary people learn, in the final analysis, he must also learn to write the texts of the righteous time. And since you want to learn eight shares, the method will naturally change from its roots.

How do you learn Bagu? First of all, it is necessary to have solid basic skills. What are basic skills? At the very least, the Four Books and the Five Classics must be memorized well, especially the "Four Books", including Bai Wen and Zhu Note (Zhu Xi's commentary), which must be memorized, and a sentence must not be forgotten; Memorize the correct pronunciation of each word; It is necessary to learn to pair long pairs of more than two words to a dozen words (so couplets in this era are very common and trivial, and generally not worth mentioning); It is necessary to read at least a few hundred articles of famous scholars; You have to learn to write small letters, pavilion styles, and so on. These are the most basic things.

When it comes to "reading", how to teach it? In fact, the teachings of the prince's lecturers are basically the same as those of private schools, and they are generally calculated based on the "number of sentences", that is, the number of sentences to read every day. However, here for the prince, generally speaking, one article is one a day, and occasionally a longer article is taught on several days.

Since the books read at this time were all without punctuation, when the lecturer was teaching the reading of the students' books, he would use a vermilion brush to point out a short sentence and read it again, and the prince and Gao Pragmatic read it again, and when it was a complete sentence, draw a circle.

For example, at the beginning of the Analects: "Zi said: When you learn it, don't you also say it?" Zhu Yijun and Gao Pragmatic followed to read "Zi Yue", then read "Learn and Learn", and then read "Don't Say Hu" in circles, and both of them followed along.

This is the method of teaching reading by the lecturer, which is the so-called learning of sentences and jokes. But it was not just read once, in fact, the lecturer had to read it ten times, Zhu Yijun and Gao Shishi read it ten times, and then the two of them repeated it 90 times before they completed the day's homework.

However, in addition to the lectures on the day, it is also necessary to review, that is, what has been learned in the previous four days, it is also necessary to take it out for review, and the method of revision is still reading, ranging from ten or dozens of times to each time.

Learn from time to time, and learn from the past. This sentence is not a joke, the ancients read books, whether they were commoners or princes, they had to follow this rule.

Once you've read it, you'll have to memorize it. The method of memorization, Gao Shishi is very familiar: he actually stood in front of the teacher in front of the teacher and recited what he learned today and what he learned in the previous four days in front of the teacher. If you can't memorize it, or if you can't memorize it well, if you don't have a coherent and smooth tone, you can't pass it, and you have to go back and continue reading until you can recite it proficiently.

This is a dead rule, not to mention high pragmatism, even the prince is no exception.

If you can't do it, there will be a penalty. It's just that the punishment that Gao Pragmatic can't recite will be beaten by the lecturer with a ring ruler, while the prince will not be beaten, but if Zhu Yijun really can't recite it, in addition to the punishment of one less beating, the other punishment is the same as Gao Pragmatic: no lunch.

At this point, the two of them can be regarded as difficult brothers, and only after reciting and the speaker nodding his head, can this lunch be eaten.

But of course, the treatment of high pragmatism cannot be compared with that of the prince - if the prince can recite but Gao pragmatic cannot, the prince can go to dinner; If Gao Pragmatic can recite but the prince can't, not only will the prince not be able to eat, but Gao Pragmatic will not be able to eat.

Therefore, it is not an easy errand for the prince to read.

Today, Zhu Yijun and Gao Pragmatic read "The Second for Politics", and Gao Pragmatic was actually able to memorize it a long time ago - he was already able to write eight shares, and endorsement was naturally out of the question. In fact, in the past six months, he has only been distracted by recitation, and he has been beaten once, and he has not been punished at all at all at other times.

However, Zhu Yijun's side is still a little difficult to do, because there are a total of twenty-four paragraphs in "For Politics", not only must each paragraph be memorized, but the order cannot be wrong - the wrong order cannot be called ripe. So when Zhu Yijun finished carrying it, he happened to catch up with the meal.

Since Gao Chengcheng was about to return to his hometown, Zhu Yijun applied to today's Japanese speaker Gu Yangqian to let Gao Zhengcheng accompany him to eat, Gu Yangqian was Gao Gong's protégé, of course, he would not be too embarrassed, so he happily agreed.

However, the so-called eating together does not mean that the two of them sit at the same table to eat, it is not allowed. It's just that the two tables are next to each other, Zhu Yijun occupies the top, and Gao Shishi is at the bottom, so that they are closer to each other, and they can chat while eating - chatting is not allowed in the first place, because "food is silent" is the rule. However, the speaker himself was a courtier, and Gu Yangqian had already gone next door during the meal, and he couldn't see Zhu Yijun and Gao Pragmatic at all, so the two of them had a chance to speak.
