In the first year of Xianheng, Tubo invaded the Western Regions on a large scale, capturing eighteen feudal states such as Baizhou in the Western Regions, and then joined forces with Khotan to trap Qiuci to change cities.

In order to compete with Tubo for the four towns of Qiuzi, Shule, Khotan, and Yanqi, Tang Gaozong Li Zhi appointed Xue Rengui as the general manager of the Luosa Road march, and Ashina Daozhen and Guo Beifeng as their deputies, leading 50,000 troops to counterattack Tubo, while the Tubo general Lun Qinling led an army of 400,000 to meet the battle. The Battle of Dafeichuan was the biggest defeat in the foreign war since the founding of the Tang Dynasty, and Tubo became a powerful western power in the Tang Dynasty, and Tuyuhun also became another part of Tubo.
