Small preface
Dear readers,
The starting point of this story, which I created under the influence of the history of the "Lanfang Great Unified Republic", is an alternate historical novel, which is written about a key historical node in the oceanic empire dominated by the Chinese, that is, from a traditional feudal country to a modern system country.
Let's introduce the background of the story:
The history of the Ocean Empire begins with the royal family. According to the "exquisite" lineage of the royal family of the Ocean Empire, after the rise of the Zhou Dynasty, the empress (Wu Zetian) suppressed the Li clan, one of which was sent to Nanling, and was repeatedly oppressed by Wu Zetian in Nanling.
After going through the "Annam Gong Era", "Annam Kingdom Era", "Yue Tang Empire Era", "Nanhai County Era", "Nanling County Era" until the Hejing County Era, Luzon Island has gone through six dynasties, although the world has one surname, but it is not as peaceful as it seems. (For details, please read "The Examination of the Ocean Empire")
The establishment of the Ocean Empire was caused by the rivalry between the fourth generation of the Hejing Dynasty, Jingwenzong, the crown prince Li Guanghong, and his younger brother King Yi. Queen Mother Yi was the empress, and her uncle was the ruler of the imperial court, and in the early days of Wenzong's reign, the foreign relatives continued to suppress Li Guanghong politically, resulting in the abolition of the crown prince.
However, at the insistence of the military forces, Wen Zong made Li Guanghong the general of the military guard on Nanping Island (the island of New Guinea, which is the large island north of Australia).
When Li Guanghong was the general of the military guard on Nanping Island, there was no war in the South China Sea for nearly 100 years, which led to the arrival of a period of population expansion. The Han population on the island was under great pressure, and with Wenzong's permission, Li Guanghong went south to recruit troops (setting foot on the oceanic continent, almost a century before the British landed). Enter the Ocean Continent and establish the Military Guard Mansion in the Wanghai Region of the Ocean Continent.
In 1691, after the death of Wenzong, Li Guanghong announced the establishment of Wanghai County and recognized himself as the king of Wanghai County. The establishment of the "Governor Anzhen Garrison Mansion" and the local clan in the south of Wanghai County to negotiate the establishment of the country.
On October 30, 1700, Li Guanghong officially established the "Wanghua County State", and the era name was "Qixin". But it is still dominated by the Riverview Dynasty.
In 1705 (the fifth year of Qixin), Li Guanghong occupied most of the northern part of the Ocean Continent, changed Nanping Island to Beiping Island, and established a new capital, Mingcheng. Two provinces and two regions were established (Xiwen Province, Wanghua Province, Wanghai Peninsula area, and Beiping Island area).
In 1721 (the twenty-first year of Qixin), Li Guanghong died, and his son Li Ru officially inherited the throne and changed the era name to Zongzheng. In 1722 (the second year of Zongzheng), the county law was promulgated to negotiate with the Riverview Dynasty to dissolve the suzerainty relationship (the Li royal family of the Riverview Dynasty agreed to dissolve the suzerainty relationship, and the only request was that the county royal family change their surname, so except for the imperial emperor, the rest of the family members changed their surnames to Mo, and if they inherited the throne, they would change their surnames back to Li).
In 1855 (the twenty-seventh year of Tianyu), Li Sheng, the fifth king of Wanghua County, approved the start of the southern expedition plan. Feng's eldest son, Mo Shengliang (the word Zhengqi), was the secretary of the military department, and he was also crowned the general of the Imperial Forest, responsible for the southern expedition plan.
In 1857 (the twenty-ninth year of the Heavenly Emperor), the southern expedition achieved a major victory, Li Sheng approved the "Edict of the State of Dingguo", changed the Wanghua County State to the Ocean Empire, changed the throne to the emperor's throne, changed the year name to the country name year, changed the traditional calendar to the AD calendar, and supplemented it by the traditional calendar.
On February 17, the first year of the empire (1858), Li Sheng died, and his second son Mo Yan returned to Mingcheng to take the throne with the year name Weide. And His Majesty Mo Shengliang, the eldest son of Taizu (hereinafter referred to as the Holy Ancestor), served as the generalissimo of the world's soldiers and horses.
At the end of the 17th year of the empire (1875), the twin islands officially belonged to the Ocean Empire, marking the successful completion of the southern expedition plan.
In July of the eighteenth year of the empire (1876), Mo Shengfa Chan gave up the throne to His Majesty the Holy Ancestor. The Holy Ancestor did not accept it for the time being, and replaced it with the title of Emperor. On October 30, the Holy Ancestor inherited the throne and changed the era name to Shuozheng.
At the beginning of the Holy Ancestor's accession to the throne, a new capital was established - Huadu. At the same time, it is divided into three major regions: Wanghua area, Nanhua area, and Twin Islands area.
Wanghua area (the northern part of the mainland, that is, the original Wanghua County): Beiping Island area, Huguo Islands area, Xiwen Province, Wanghua Province, Wanghai Peninsula area, Dongwen Province.
Nanhua region (the southern part of the mainland, that is, the area conquered by the Southern Expedition Plan): Hanbei Province, Nanhua Province, Hannan Province, Huzhong Province, Huxi Province, Haiwei Region, Xihai Province, Nanhai Region, Huadu Special (Prefecture) District
Twin Islands Region: Twin Islands North Island Province, Twin Islands South Island Province
In the twenty-ninth year of the empire (1887), the royal family and the imperial court moved to Huadu, and the Holy Ancestor lived in Huaxiang Palace. Huadu became the official capital of the empire.
The story takes place 9 years later, in the 38th year of the empire (1896 (when Li Hongzhang of the Qing Dynasty was still in power)). At this time, the Great Ocean Empire was the fourth largest in the world in terms of land area, and how could such a feudal country, which was as strong as the Qing court, face the cruel international form in the future?
That's the rest of the story.
