"Wise Master" refers to a monk in Jiankang County, whose Dharma name is Daozhi.

Longdi is adjacent to the Western Regions, there are many monks, and Daozhi is not particularly famous, but because of the Bodhisattva vows granted a few years ago, it became famous.

The bodhisattva vows are one of the precepts of Buddhism.

In modern times, although Buddhism has gradually proliferated, there are not many Buddhist scriptures translated into Tang Chinese, and many precepts of Buddhism have not yet been fully known by believers in the Central Plains, and the Bodhisattva vows are one of them. It wasn't until a few years ago that a great monk came to the Western Regions, and the believers of Longdi knew about this precept. Dao Zhi went to the monk of the Western Regions and wanted to tell him about it, but before he reached dozens of steps, the monk was startled and sang: "Good! Wonderful! I feel quitting. Let me bear witness to you. "Just in front of the Buddha, I will give him a specific precept.

Dao Zhi can be said to be the first among the monks of Middle-earth to give this precept, whether it is true or not, anyway, it was he who gave the precept in his dream, and he was immediately famous.

At the beginning of this year, Linghu Feng ascended the throne, Daozhi wanted to take this opportunity, in the name of Linghu Feng to ask for the blessing of the Buddha, open the mountain and dig caves, build Buddha statues, carry out the promotion of Buddhism, and go to the homes of the powerful people who believe in Buddhism in the royal capital, and ask them to write to Linghu Feng, hoping to get the financial and human support of the imperial court.

Unexpectedly, Linghu Feng was different from the previous kings of Dingxi, and he was not interested in it at all, not only did he not give a penny, but also reprimanded the courtiers who wrote the book: "Lao Tzu is suffering from wealth and lack of strength, and he can't sweep the Central Plains; You don't want to solve Lao Tzu's worries, but you still want money from me? ”

Daozhi had to return to Jiankang and start from the people.

He is now famous, "one word to make a hole", just like Zhang Jin said, actually "should gather".

Longzhou is mountainous, the grottoes have been there for a long time, but they were mostly dug by Confucian scholars earlier, or lived in seclusion, or used to teach disciples, this kind of grottoes are often not big. After the rise of Buddhism, monks and believers followed the example of those Confucian scholars, and also dug mountains and built caves to shape Buddha statues in the caves; This kind of Buddha cave has small and large, the small one is only one cave, and the big one has not been completed for more than ten or even decades.

What Dao Zhi wanted to excavate was not a small grotto, but a large grotto, or a group of cloud grottoes.

Grottoes of this scale have not been built in Jiankang County for one or two decades. In this respect, it is indeed a "grand event".

Zhang Jin said that "the public pushes me to be the lord of Yi", and "the lord of Yi" is the principal of "Yi".

The way of Lao Zhuang is just famous; Dingxi hangs lonely in the northwest, there are many Huyi inside, there are captives outside, and you have to rely on scriptures to survive. I will have to supervise his business and learning. ”

Moreover, although Dingxi is like Jiangzuo, it is also popular in modern times, but its root cause is not the same as Jiangzuo.

Longzhou is located in the frontier, the style of writing is not prosperous, the style of Qing talk is not strong, in fact, since the sea Lingchi, with the influx of a large number of Kanto scholars, this has led to the fashion of Qing talk in Longdi.

For example, Zhang Jin and other indigenous scholars, although they were influenced by it, were not good at it, so they were impregnated on the surface, but the essence was still home-schooled.

This can be seen from the names and characters of the Zhang Jin brothers. Zhang Jin, Zi Wengong; His brother Zhang Hun is a literal character. The names of the two brothers are all out of "Lao Tzu", "Jin Yuying Room, Mo Zhishou also", "Muddy and turbid"; And the characters of the two are all Confucian things.
