At the same time, in the telegram sent to Cheng Dequan, the governor of Jiangsu, Ying Dehong, the chief of civil affairs, Chen Yifan, the envoy of trade and negotiation in Shanghai, Wu Xin, the governor of Shanghai County, and Zhong Wenyao, the general office of the Shanghai-Nanjing Railway, clearly demanded: "Immediately put a heavy reward on it, crack it within a time limit, and severely punish it according to the law." On the one hand, the envoy and the county governor visited the hospital to express their condolences to Song Jun and earnestly advised him to calm down and adjust his treatment in order to recover quickly. ”

The bullet that hit Song Jiaoren pierced his right rib to the lower part of his abdomen, injuring his lower abdomen and large intestine. Doctors cut open the wound and removed the bullet from his body. The bullet has a small tip, presumably a new Browning pistol.

Because Song Jiaoren kept screaming for pain, the doctor injected him with painkillers, but it still had no effect. And because there was no improvement, the doctors had to give Song Jiaoren a second operation. In addition to sewing up the perforation of the large intestine, it was found that his kidneys were also damaged, and he was incontinent and bleeding.

In the early morning of March 22, Song Jiaoren died.

Upon learning of Song Jiaoren's unfortunate death, Yuan Shikai immediately replied to Chen Yifan and said: "...... The governor of Jiangsu and the chief of civil affairs were instructed to quickly arrest the real culprit, pursue the name of the lord exhaustively, ensure that the situation is confirmed, strictly handle it in accordance with the law, and comfort the soul of the heroes by maintaining national discipline. ”

No one expected such a big case to be solved extremely easily, and soon after the reward notice was published, someone reported the case.

Regarding the report, there are several versions from the information.

One of them was two sloppy students. said that they came from Sichuan to apply for the school and stayed at the Liuye Hotel.

According to the two men, there lived a man in disheveled clothes and a vicious face in the room next to them. His name is Samurai Ying. Go out early and return late every day. Yesterday afternoon, three or four people suddenly came to look for Wu, and Wu was very happy.

After the people left, Wu Shiying came to them to borrow money for the car. They give it a corner, and if they don't say enough, they add another two.

When I came back at 8 p.m., I had already changed into a new dress. Go to their room and take out a handful of money, there are dozens of yuan, and take out one yuan to pay them back. They wanted to give change, but he resolutely refused to allow it, saying that he had money, and someone asked him to do something big, and he would give 1,000 yuan after the deed was completed.

Today, I saw Mr. Song's assassination in the newspaper, and I thought of this person. When I asked the hotel manager, he said that he had gone out early yesterday morning and had not returned. If you think it's suspicious, report it.

Zhou Nanyi, who received it, immediately reported to Chen Qimei, and Chen Qimei instructed to find Wu Shiying as soon as possible. As a result, after looking for a day, he was nowhere to be found, but he found a business card of Ying Guixin in his residence, which led to another important person in Song Jiaoren's assassination.

Wang claimed that he knew Ying Guixin, a well-known gangster in Shanghai.

One day, he went to Ying's house to trade, and Ying Guixin took out a photo halfway through and asked him to take it seriously. said that he had an enmity with this person, and hoped that Wang Afa would kill him, and the reward could be given for 1,000 yuan.

Wang Afa said that he had never done anything illegal, so he refused Ying Guixin's request at that time. Now when he saw Song Jiaoren's photo in the newspaper, he recognized it as the person Ying Guixin had shown him.

Someone who has never done anything wrong, how can anyone ask him to buy murder? The people looking for him are not ordinary people, but gangster figures, which cannot but make people suspicious. Maybe the whistleblower Wang Afa is trying to protect himself, or maybe there are other hidden secrets here.

Whether it was the business card found by the suspected murderer, or someone testified that he bought the murder, the suspicions all pointed to Ying Guixin. The patrol police immediately went to Ying Guixin to arrest people. Ying Guixin is not at home, but there is an unexpected harvest in his home.

The first is the capture of an unknown man, this man is the murder suspect Wu Shiying, who was quickly recognized as the murderer by the people who were at the scene of the murder at the time.

Secondly, a large number of secret telegrams were found in Ying's house, which were actually the general manager of Yuan Shikai at that time. Li Zhao Bingjun and Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Hong Shuzu sent it.

There is also Huang Xing who also has a large number of telegram exchanges with Ying Guixin.

The content of Hong Shuzu's telegram was mainly about how to deal with Song Jiaoren, and it contained the words "destroy the Song Dynasty". mentioned that in Japan I found Song Jiaoren, Sun Jiaoren. Because Wu Shiying and Ying Guixin were arrested in the concession, the two were temporarily detained in the concession cell.

As a result, the object of suspicion in Song Jiaoren's assassination case was further led from Hong Shuzu, secretary of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, to Zhao Bingjun and Yuan Shikai.

On the afternoon of 4 April, at the pre-trial session of the Public Trial Chamber, lawyer Kanke, a criminal inspector who appeared in court on behalf of the Public Concession Patrol House, first introduced the preliminary interrogation of Wu Shiying at the Judicial Office in the French Concession: Wu Shiying had admitted that he had come to Shanghai in February 1913, and after getting to know Chen Yusheng, he went to Ying Guixin's house on 19 March under the leadership of Chen Yusheng.

On 20 March, he and Chen Yusheng went to Ying's house again to see a picture of Song Jiaoren, and then went to the train station with a pistol. After the successful assassination, he fled to Ying's house in a rickshaw to meet Chen Yusheng, and was praised by Ying Guixin.

Before the assassination of Song Jiaoren, Wu Shiying, a soldier from Shanxi who once served as a battalion manager (battalion commander) in Yunnan, was so depressed that he couldn't even pay the rent, and he had to borrow bus fare and food money from others when he went out to find a job. So Wu Shiying, who had military experience, was tempted by a thousand pieces of the ocean, and committed murder.

But what Wu Shiying didn't expect was that the person he killed was the famous Kuomintang youth leader Song Jiaoren, and the reward after the killing, he was captured by the patrol room before he had time to squander it.

According to Wu Shiying's confession after his arrest, the facts of the case are already very clear, he was introduced by underworld figures, and took a murderous errand with a reward of 1,000 yuan. This underworld figure surnamed Chen Yusheng introduced him to the Communist Association (an underworld organization with gangsters of the Qinghong Gang as its main members), and the boss who hired him to kill was Ying Guixin, the leader of the Communist Association.

After more than a month of interrogation, the French Concession extradited Wu Shiying to the Chinese government. and transferred them to the heavily guarded Shanghai Model Prison.

Unfortunately, during his detention in the Fazu Realm, Wu Shiying suffered from a cold and contracted an illness, and after knowing that he had no way out, his psychological pressure was too great, which aggravated his condition, and he died of illness in prison on April 24, 1913.

In order to find out about Wu Shiying's death, the ** department hired a number of doctors to conduct an autopsy on Wu Shiying's body. It is proved that he died of illness, not by Chen Qimei, as claimed by Yuan Shikai.

Ying Guixin's lawyer, Wo Pei, defended that the perpetrator said that someone was the instigator and that there was no third party to prove it, so such evidence could not be established. Although Wo Pei did not name the third person, he was obviously referring to Chen Yusheng, who had been arrested on March 27.

What is strange is that Chen Yusheng, who has been arrested and brought to justice, has not appeared in seven consecutive court pre-trials, and has not been heard from since.

On the afternoon of 11 April, the public trial court held its sixth pre-trial session, and Ying Guixin said in court that on 1 or 2 March, Wu Shiying brought Wu Naiwen's letter of recommendation to his home to find a job. After he sent Wu Shiying away, he immediately ordered his subordinates not to report the meeting when Wu Shiying came back in the future, and refused to admit the crime of buying murder.

After the incident, Wu Naiwen's recommendation letter left by Wu Shiying at Ying Guixin's house was searched and kept in the patrol room.

Among the accomplices involved in the Song Jiaoren case, Wu Naiwen is the most critical and mysterious person. Wu Naiwen is not only the introducer of Wu Shiying and Ying Guixin's acquaintance, but also one of the suspects who commanded Wu Shiying to assassinate Song Jiaoren at the scene. In the "Staff List of the Departments of the Shanghai Military Governor's Office" published in Shanghai's "Declaration" on November 9, 1911, Wu Naiwen's name happened to be among the three first-class staff members under Ying Guixin, the chief of the espionage section.

Coincidentally, Tuo Lusheng, who once entrusted Wang Afa to Ying Guixin's house to sell paintings, happened to be an important member of the Kuomintang who saw off Song Jiaoren.

The biggest doubt and blind spot left behind in the Song Jiaoren case after seven consecutive pre-trials in accordance with the law by the public party is that the plaintiff and the defendant have tacitly cooperated to avoid confrontation between Wu Shiying and Ying Guixin in court. This is an assassination murder case that is not complicated, and as long as Wu Shiying, Ying Guixin, and Chen Yusheng, who have already been arrested, as well as Wu Naiwen, Tuo Lusheng, Wang Afa, and others who participated in or witnessed the assassination activities, are brought together to confront them in court, the truth can be revealed.

Including the absence of a single patrol officer at the scene of the murder, this series of events began to make people suspect that all of this was not so much an accident or coincidence, but rather a careful arrangement by former Shanghai military governor Chen Qimei and his chief of staff Huang Ying, and other Kuomintang figures.

After the assassination of Soong Jiaoren, the whole country was shocked, and the newly established Kuomintang fell into chaos and anger. What the Kuomintang does not seem to need is the truth of the Soong Jiao-ren case, but through public opinion propaganda that is difficult to distinguish between true and false, to target Yuan Shikai, Zhao Bingjun, and the Central Government. The government implements moral demonization.

While the case was still being heard, a series of newspapers in Shanghai published that Ying Guixin exchanged telegrams with Hong Shuzu and Zhao Bingjun, secretaries of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
