My wife and I have already retired, there is no tiredness of the case, the worries of firewood and rice, the children have settled down, we spend our old age in peace, but also want to go out to see the great rivers and mountains of the motherland, to see the great changes that have taken place in the reform and opening up.

In 1956, the organization sent me to Shencheng for training and study for half a year, which was the first time I came to the largest city and witnessed the beauty of Shencheng for the first time. In the blink of an eye, 27 years have passed, and in 1993, Liu Xunde and I sent the workers of the Tailian Automobile Repair Factory to Shencheng City to learn car repair technology.

In 1995, I took my colleagues to visit Shencheng City to have a good look at the majestic appearance of this Oriental Pearl after the reform and opening up. Take the train from Tianyuan to Hongdu, and then transfer to the city. Accompanied by me, Mr. Liu, Mr. Wang, Mr. Chang and his wife, my wife recruited students for the first time to go to Shencheng, and the spirit was excellent along the way. Although the journey was tiring, everyone was full of interest, talking, laughing, and having fun.

In Shencheng City, we live in the house of Mr. Zou, a fellow villager in Wenshan, which is a one-hall and two-room building he rents, and it costs tens of thousands of yuan a year to rent. Since it was summer, we made the floor cover, which was cool and comfortable. We are a couple of four, and we set off early after eating every day, wandering aimlessly and casually. Mr. Wang was familiar with Shencheng City, and led us to walk the streets and alleys and see many street attractions.

We came to Shencheng South Road, only to see that the street has been dressed up, this is the commercial center of Shencheng City, time-honored stores (such as Shencheng City No. 1 Department Store, Sincere Company, Yongan Company and other shopping malls) charm is particularly existing, the goods are dazzling, the goods must be everything, the flow of people is like a tide, and the business is booming. Although we don't shop, this lively scene also makes us linger.

East Road is the most prosperous place in Shencheng City, and all kinds of buildings built more than 100 years ago have been used as living teaching materials for student education, which are well preserved to educate future generations not to forget the national shame.

Standing on the Dajiang Bridge at night to watch the night view of Shencheng City is really a beautiful enjoyment. I saw that the high-rise buildings were dressed in colorful clothes, especially the dancing girls who stood upright, graceful and colorful, which made people reverie. On both sides of the river, the lights are shining, the streamer is brilliant, such as entering the fairyland, it is charming. The starlight on the river is dotted, hundreds of boats shuttle, and seagulls soar and gather, showing the smart beauty of Shencheng. On the embankment of the river beach, there are crowds of people, and people are leisurely and contented, enjoying the happy life brought by reform and opening up. On the other side of the river is a new development zone, skyscrapers rise from the ground, a convention and exhibition center competes for favor, the most eye-catching is the Pearl Tower, its majestic posture, straight to the sky. Next to it there is a dark green skyscraper, standing out from the crowd, very distinctive, from a distance, giving people a deep and unfathomable feeling. The development zone is a classic work of reform and opening up.

One day in 1998, a bus from the Tenbara Regional Travel Company was heading south with a group of gray-haired elderly people. This time, Mr. Gao led the team to Shencheng, Zhucheng and Laojie to play. My wife and I also went.

Most of the cars were unfamiliar faces and old faces. Although everyone has made modifications to the appearance, it is difficult to hide the traces left by the vicissitudes of decades. There was a lot of laughter and words in the car, and peers from all fronts suddenly blended into this warm little world, and everyone seemed to be much younger. The tour guide is Miss Wang from the regional travel agency, and the driver is an "insurance" master who has escorted many big people.

In order to eliminate the fatigue of riding in the car, the tour guide Miss Wang told us jokes along the way and introduced some travel knowledge. Ms. Wang said: "It is fashionable to say 'I want to sing' and 'I want to dance'. Miss Wang explained it again, and then asked, "Do you remember?" "Remember!" We were as lively as elementary school students answering their teachers. She laughed too, and so did we. This scene is like a lot of naivety in the kindergarten, and everyone seems to have returned to their childhood.

Buses along National Highway 105 speed south. Eat a "preferential" meal in Tianyuan and eat a waist meal in Ganzhou. The scenery along the way is picturesque and beautiful, and everyone is very interested. From time to time, someone said, "I'm going to sing," and I sang it several times. Out of Ganzhou, there are more and more mountains, and the terrain is getting higher and higher, and cars travel through the mountains.

This reminds me of the military life in 1949 when the fourth branch of our military university hiked through Yuzhang Province and Benguang Province, and I tried my best to search for clues left on both sides of the road, but everything changed. Crossing the Great Yuling, the car went straight down to Suicheng.

The elderly are verbose, and some people shout "to sing" after walking forty or fifty kilometers, and they can't hold it back, because many people have prostatitis. Everyone said that they must drink less water before getting on the bus, and kept shouting "singing", which made the tour guide embarrassed.

The bus came to the beach from the outskirts of Zhucheng and stopped, saying that it would get on the boat here and go around the island. Facing the vast South China Sea, a bridge is flying in the air on the vast sea, which makes people think about it and feel a lot of emotion.

On the cruise, there were many guests. The yacht flies on the surface of the water like an arrow from a bow, chasing the waves and flying into the deep sea, the blue sea is boundless and fascinating. People sit on the speeding yacht, feel light and fluttering, especially refreshing, a high-rise building in the distance is faintly visible, like seeing flowers in the fog, blurred.

Shencheng is one of the earliest special zones in China's reform and opening up, and in the past few years, it has transformed from a small fish village into a modern metropolis and has become the leader of the country's opening up to the outside world. I saw skyscrapers abounding, large cars and small cars flowing endlessly, the streets are spacious, the environment is beautiful, the blue sky and white clouds, the green leaves are shady, the air is refreshing, with the fragrance of the sea.

There is not only the prosperity and fashion of the modern city, but also the strong national atmosphere, the business district is full of traffic, tourists are weaving, there is no car horn honking, there is no business shouting, full of harmony and tranquility. Some people say: When you arrive in Shencheng, it is like going to Xiangcheng, and visiting shopping malls is a kind of beautiful enjoyment. The people of Shencheng have created a world-class speed of Shencheng.

On the second day, visit the "Splendid" park. It is said that this park was built by overseas Chinese compatriots at a loss, and later donated money to build the "World" Park. Although the tickets are more expensive, they can't stop the tourists. The guide walked deeper into the park while holding a guide flag. The first thing you see is a huge colorful peacock made of flowers and vines, and the peacock has both gods and shapes, which is very realistic. In the park, the most representative scenic spots and buildings of the motherland are condensed into miniature landscapes in a certain proportion for visitors to enjoy, and they can get a glimpse of the whole leopard.

Splendid Park, the winding path in the park is secluded, the grass is charming, all kinds of scenic spots, the height is different, the staggered is chic, the ingenuity is unique, everywhere is the beautiful scenery, the pieces are boutiques, there are really some people in the scenery in the tour, there is a feeling of visitors in the scene. Walking into Fairview Park, it is like walking into a large picture scroll with 5,000 years of history and culture that slowly unfolds, which makes people happy to return. We took a lot of photos in front of each attraction as a souvenir.

There are many shops and places for visitors to rest in the park, which is full of humanity. There is a precious forest in the park, which is planted and donated by dignitaries and celebrities from all over the world, and each tree is engraved with granite next to the tree, who planted it, etc. With such a large park, you can only take a look at it in the morning.

Coming out of Fairview Park, take a car to visit the "Old Street". Each person took out the visa of the public security department, inspected and entered the customs, and entered the alley along the iron fence, and entered the street on the Chinese side of the "Old Street" after exiting the monitoring gate.

The "Old Street" looks like an alley street, no more than eight or nine meters wide and less than a kilometer long, most of which are two-story buildings, lined with shops next to each other, and there is no end in sight. The whole "old street" is divided in two from the center line of the street, separated by barbed wire, with one side of the street on our side and the other side on the other, and the streets on both sides are about four meters wide and stretch into the distance.

There are some fruits at the entrance of the street, but the price is ridiculously expensive, and if you want to buy it, you can only eat it on the spot, and you are not allowed to take it out, and there is a bit of a mysterious feeling. Then enter the medicinal herbs, medicines, gold and silver jewelry, photographic equipment, televisions, tape recorders and other commodities, especially gold and silver jewelry, beads and jade are the most, dazzling, overwhelming. Tourists come to feast their eyes on the gold, silver and jewellery fair. Because the goods here do not pay taxes, so they are much cheaper than similar goods in other places, because it is impossible to distinguish the authenticity of gold and silver jewelry, so there are not many people who buy it, we bought some external medicines, while walking and looking, feast your eyes.

When I came to the bustling area of Lao Cai, I saw a soldier on duty with a rifle standing on one side of our side, and on the opposite side of the barbed wire, there was also a soldier from another country on duty with a gun on his back in the concession. There is a gate at the thick barbed wire fence of the dividing line between me and him, but you can't go in and out of it. If the goods (goods) need to be circulated, they can only put the goods at the center point of the gate, and the two parties will take them from each other, and they shall not cross the center line, and no one shall enter or leave the gate without a license.

A sign was hung on the barbed wire fence next to the gate, which read: No one is allowed to enter or leave without a permit, otherwise he will be arrested as a smuggler. I looked at the British side through the barbed wire, and I couldn't see anything special about them, and they were just as pretentious as we were.

When the time came, I verified the customs and ended the second trip after the retirement.
