And Master Daoyi's greatest achievement is that he is also the only master in the history of Buddhism and Han who is called an ancestor outside the lineage, of course, some people think that he should be the eighth ancestor of Zen.

But it is because of the emergence of Matsu that later generations have formed five sects and six schools of Zen Sect today, which is the so-called one leaf and five flowers in later generations.

The most famous under the Matsu seat is the Huaihai master who created Hongzhou Zen, and the name of Huaihai is rising all over the world. The most famous under the seat of Master Huaihai are the two masters of Huang Bai Xiyun and Weishan Lingyou.

Later generations respected Matsu, not only because he magnified the Nanyue lineage, but also was the most famous descendant of the six ancestors' disciples, and magnificently expanded the Nanchan Nanyue lineage. In addition, when it was passed to the seat of Huang Bai Xiyun, his disciple Master Yixuan re-entered the Central Plains, restored the glory of the former Heze Sect, and founded the Rinzai Sect in Zhenzhou, the land of Hebei in the Central Plains.

And the Weishan Lingyou master is famous, and his disciple Yangshan Huishan founded the Weiyang Sect. One mantle is inherited, and the disciples of Matsu have actually created two sects, which shows the prestige of the Southern Zen Gate. In the history of Chinese Buddhist belief tradition, it is an extraordinary event and legend. If you add the Nanyue faction of Matsu at the beginning, it is three sects under the six ancestors.

And under the disciple of Master Qingyuan Xingsi, Master Shi Xiqian is the most famous. He lived a long life of 91 years, which can be said to be a legend in this era. Although there are many disciples, they are not as famous as Matsu's peers. Only later passed to the Dongshan good price generation, at this time it was the end of the Tang Dynasty crisis, this good price master under the famous disciple Cao Shan Ben Lone, two people founded the famous Cao Dong Sect.

Another famous disciple of Master Xiqian is the Emperor Daowu Master. He passed on several times to Master Yicun of Xuefeng at the end of the Tang Dynasty, and Master Yicun passed on to Master Gaode Shibei of contemporary times, and then passed on to Master Wenyi, a famous contemporary master. Master Wenyi founded the Dharma Eye Sect in Jinling Qingliang Temple and became the national teacher of the Tang Kingdom in Jinling.

Of course, what is worth questioning here is that there is also a famous master disciple under the seat of Master Yicun, who is the same generation as Master Shibei. This disciple was Master Wen Yan, who lived in Yunmen Mountain, Shaozhou, who later founded the Yunmen Sect and was also Chengyuan's master.

Master Wen Yan has studied a lot, but the world has always believed that he is a lineage of Matsu. But what he passed on in Cloud Gate has always been the method of Xuefeng's righteous existence, why do future generations have questions?

Because the original Dao Trace Master was a direct transmission of the Matsu lineage, Master Wen Yan became enlightened in his hands. And what Master Wen Yan inherited in Yunmen Mountain in the end is also the mantle of Master Rumin, a holy arhat. And Master Rumin is also an out-and-out Matsu Dharma system, and is a disciple of Master Daan, a disciple of Matsu's second lineage.

The lineage of the two disciples under the Matsu throne, but in the end, Master Wen Yan passed on the Dharma system, but it was the Dharma system of Master Xuefeng Yicun under the Xiqian Sect of Qingyuan Dynasty, which really made the world puzzling, and it also became a public case for the later generations of Zen Sect.
