Chapter 617: The Arrival of 1934
For more than a year to follow, Hitler continued to purge Rohm of the destabilizing factor and disband the SA in exchange for the military's support for the party.
In Romania, Eder continued to develop its economy vigorously and at the same time increased the development of new weapons. During this year, the Romanian economy grew rapidly, with an annual growth rate of 7.84%. Large quantities of goods are dumped in neighboring countries, while truckloads of goods are shipped to other regions.
Among them, the implementation of the Far East military integration program has led to a significant increase in Romania's arms exports. The plan, which was approved by Lieutenant General Moderk and Admiral Seckert, was approved by the Rector by drawing up a plan for the integration of their national army.
Regarding the early appearance of Admiral Seckert in the Far East, Romania is credited to this. The German side, seeing that Romania was encroaching on its own military territory in the region, naturally did not sit idly by. Although the two countries have good relations in Europe, the Far East market and important importers of raw materials are at stake, and the German side will not be reconciled. They have sent several military delegations to try to regain their military influence in the country, but to little avail. In the end, the German government sent its own ace, Admiral Seckert, to gradually suppress the infiltration of Romanian military influence.
After all, Admiral Seckert had a great reputation in the reorganization of the army, while Moderick was indeed inferior in ability, unless Romania sent Marshal Présan or the chief of the General Staff, General Fereitt. However, it is a pity that Marshal Prishan is not in good health and cannot travel far, and Fereyt is the active chief of the General Staff, and he is too busy with Romanian military reform, how can he go to the Far East. So in the end, the Germans gained the upper hand in the military regiment.
According to the latest "Proposal for Army Reform", a total of 60 divisions in the country are called integrated divisions, which are adapted according to the proposals of the two countries.
Since Romania has already exported several batches of ordnance to Romania, the plan intends to concentrate on the use of these surplus ordnance and purchase some of the ordnance to complete the integration of the first six divisions. Because many of the ordnance of this first batch of divisions were adjusted from other units, they were also called adjustment divisions.
Each of these six divisions has one artillery battalion, one tank defense artillery company, and one anti-aircraft artillery company, and one infantry artillery company and one small artillery company directly under the regiment. Its division has a total of 11,423 personnel (field artillery and horse division) or 11,579 people (mountain artillery pack horse division), equipped with 12 field (mountain) guns, 24 small guns, 24 82 mortars, 74 heavy machine guns, and 336 light machine guns.
These units were called adjustment divisions, and they were characterized by a mixed infantry company of 9 squads, with additional light machine guns; The original regimental mortars were divided into battalions and platoons to enhance the firepower of tactical units; The original battalion and small artillery platoons were concentrated into a company, which was directly under the jurisdiction of the regiment and served as a combat fire force.
And the reorganization plan of the Droz mechanic division that was ahead of schedule, because Romania was mixed with a kick, a lot of weapons and equipment were purchased from Romania. (Because Romania is starting to change clothes, it is cheaper to export arms)
So in 1933 Romania exported to the Far East, more than 17,000 G98L (the Romanian improved version was about the same as the 1924 version of the Mauser rifle), more than 160,000 rounds. ZB26 light machine guns 3000 pieces, 24 37-mm anti-tank guns, 48 75-mm mountain guns. There is also a batch of military supplies such as gas masks, radio stations, field telephones, etc.
This batch of ordnance purchase contracts, worth nearly $50 million, used tungsten, zinc, tin, and other war preparation materials produced in China as "funds" for the purchase. Romania, one step ahead of Germany, began combat readiness. Moreover, Romania is gradually updating its equipment through arms sales to the Far East.
In addition, the first prototype of the fighter at the request of the military was also successfully flown at the Koanda aircraft manufacturing company. The new aircraft uses a number of advanced technologies, including a range of advanced technologies such as recyclable landing gear and all-metal construction, to allow the new aircraft to reach speeds of up to 467 kilometers per hour. The aircraft was changed to a cantilever lower wing, and more straight lines were used in the appearance. In terms of structure, it reasonably selects high-strength thin aluminum plates and precision die-castings.
The wing load of the aircraft is up to 170 kg / square meter, the aspect ratio is 6.065, the vertical tail is semicircular, and the flat tail is rectangular, in order to ensure that there is a large level flight angle of attack.
The military was so pleased with the performance of the prototype that it was further optimized by Koanda Aircraft Manufacturing. We aim to make this fighter a world-leading presence in the future.
In addition, the development of radio reconnaissance equipment (radar), jointly developed by Romania and Italy, is also progressing smoothly. At present, with sufficient funds, the personnel of the two countries have basically solved the impact of bad weather environment, and have also preliminarily solved the problems of high-power heat dissipation. It is believed that the radar of the two countries will not be later than the others in the future, and the researchers of the two countries are convinced of this.
Of course, these military studies are still ongoing, but Romania has also made new contributions militarily. In view of the performance of the Panzer Division in the local war against the Soviet Union, a new Panzer Division was formed in Romania, the 2nd Panzer Division.
The establishment of the Second Armored Division has also made other countries see that Romania attaches great importance to the armored corps, and many generals in China are also eager to try for the division commander. In order to compete for the post of commander of the division, many generals expressed their opinions on the armored forces during this time.
And the movement of the current military triumvirate has also reached a very frequent level, and even the last one has not gone to the next and is waiting outside the door. Even Marshal Prueshan, who was unwell, was troubled by the visit of these people. However, in the end, the position of commander of the division fell to Jan Antonescu, the deputy commander of the cavalry division, which surprised many people.
Speaking of which, Major General Antonescu also has his own advantages as the commander of the 2nd Armored Division. First of all, the cavalry division and the armored division had something in common in the way they fought, and secondly, Major General Antonescu was also very capable and had an advantage in age. In addition, he was close friends with Lieutenant General Hoffmann, who led the development of the Romanian armored forces, and was able to get first-hand materials for the use of armored forces before others.
So on closer analysis, it is not surprising that he took the post of commander of the 2nd Armored Division. However, the 2nd Panzer Division has only just begun to be formed, and its large number of new recruits is also a huge test for it. If he doesn't do well, I believe there are many people who are willing to take over his position.
As for other projects, they are still in the process of intense research and development, and there is no good news yet. However, the media of Britain, France and other countries claimed that the newly built battleships in Romania were seriously over-standard, and they did not look like 35,000-ton battleships at all. In response to this kind of news, the Romanian government made righteous criticisms, saying that the Romanian battleships were completely in accordance with the Washington Naval Treaty, and hoped that these tabloids would not speculate wildly.
In any case, Romania spent 1933 as the European continent grew lively.
