Chapter 72: Confrontation (3)
The men in my car began to fight back, as did the car in front of us, and everyone rolled down their windows and fired at our right, east and northeast. I looked out of the open window, and the figure of the other party suddenly became clear. I saw that in the woods on the side, there were people wearing camouflage combat uniforms. The camouflage on these people makes them very similar to the color of the surrounding woods, and although it is not to the point where it is difficult to distinguish between them, it also provides them with good camouflage and concealment. And the gun in their hands, at a glance, can be recognized as an M4A1 carbine, with a scope, and a silencer at the muzzle.
Could it be that the army was temporarily mobilized to raid here? The point is, how did it come so quickly? Originally, we were calculating how to deal with each other, and we wanted to deliberately release the news to let the other party know that we had gone to Zurich to sell information there. Whoever thought that the other party would move faster than us, they would attack us first. We've had enough of it, but it seems worse than we thought it was.
Just as I was thinking this, a volley of bullets hit our car. After a "thump" sound, a bullet entered the car, one hitting the passenger seat, and another hit the gear knob and hit the leg of the driver in the cab. This caused our car to go off the road all of a sudden. I saw that the driver tried to pull back the direction, and after rubbing a few trunks or branches on the side of the road, he drove the car back to the road. However, our place in the convoy had been taken up by a car coming up from behind, and there were about three or four people sitting in it, all of whom, except for the driver, were firing at the people in the woods.
We had two cars running side by side, which quickly led to a problem. It was a dirt road between the woods, which was not large enough to accommodate two medium-sized cars at the same time. We were almost driving against a tree on the side of the road, and in a few moments, the rearview mirror outside the cab, on the left side of the car, was gone.
But we won't get out of the way, and neither will the other side. Whoever slows down at this moment is likely to become the target of the opponent's attack. So I kept yelling at the driver of our car to speed up, but I didn't need to shout, everyone knew that it was time to run away.
I shouted and looked behind me, only to see that there were two more cars behind us, and there was still no time to get into the cabin, and there was a stubborn resistance. At that moment, the guy sitting next to me suddenly shouted, "Be careful," and around the same time, I saw the car next to us approaching us. Then, with a bang, the two cars collided together.
I'm trying to sit still, and it's useless to hide now. After all, everyone is in the car, where can they hide? If you have time to hide, it is better to sit firmly and hold on, and maybe you can avoid some accidental injuries. I can only hope that the car next to me will quickly change direction and go back after the impact, preferably to reduce the speed and get us to the front.
But the opposite happened, and the car next to us completely lost control, and after a collision, the car not only did not pull back to the direction, but turned more towards us. I looked at the other party's cab, and saw that the other party's driver was already lying on the steering wheel, and the people in the back of the car were trying to regain control of the car.
"Sit tight!" We heard the driver of our car shout, and then we tried to turn into a curve to the left, but before we could enter the corner, the car next to us lost control and crashed into a tree on the side of the road at the curve. After knocking a not-so-thick tree off the ground, it veered to the left and slammed into the back door of our car on the right. I felt that at the same time as there was a violent vibration from the body, the car almost lost control again. Fortunately, the corner was not in a hurry, and after the body shook twice, he quickly stabilized his direction and continued to chase the cars in front of him.
I quickly looked behind the car, only to see that before the car could stop it, it was hit by another car coming from behind, and with a "boom" it was pushed away and headed towards the side of the road. The other party's bullets soon followed, and the people in the car tried to fight back, but the dense bullets that hit them didn't give them much of a chance at all, and I only saw a few gunshots in the car and then didn't move.
I quickly turned around and looked ahead. The car in front was driving safely, no more vehicles were attacked, and no one in the car continued to shoot. This shows that we should rush out, although these people will not give up easily. But at least the first hurdle has passed. The gang was supposed to sneak over and surround us, but for some reason they alarmed Krzhakov's men, giving us a chance to escape. In fact, if we were to slow down a little longer, we would be cut off by the other party from the direction in which they would move later. At that point, we will have to abandon our vehicles and engage in a fierce battle in the woods. This may not be the best way to destroy us, but it will undoubtedly be disastrous for us to take over such a fierce battle.
This is the resort area of Lake Geneva, so we are not far from the lake, and after about five minutes of driving, we came to a pier on the lake. When the car stopped and we got off, Krzhakov and the old guy Younis were already standing by the lake. Kerzhakov's men were starting one ship after another and untying the ropes that held them in place. And many more, including those led by Berezov, were on the watch.
I quickly approached the old fellow, and there were still gunshots in the woods behind us, and only one of the two cars I had seen behind us had appeared at the moment, and perhaps the other car had been hit and lost power, or something else, and perhaps the gunshots were from the people in the car who were resisting.
"Bring someone and get ready to get on board." The old man's voice came from beside him, "Don't worry about that. We're not out of danger yet. ”
I looked back at the boats on the shore, and there were four of them, one of which looked like a small yacht for excursions on Lake Geneva, and the other three were the kind of speedboats that you would normally see in parks.
"Where are we going?" I asked.
"To the West Bank." The old guy said with a point, "Let's get rid of them as soon as possible." It is impossible for them to pursue for a long time, this is Switzerland, not France. So we went to the West Bank, a little further away from the direction of France. ”
I nodded and immediately turned to Berezov: "Take someone on board." ”
"You get on the yacht with them, and let his people get on the speedboat." Old fellow Eunice said to me.
