In 1597, there was a martyrdom in Nishisakagaoka, where 26 Japanese Catholics were executed by order of Toyotomi Hideyoshi, the youngest of whom was only 12 years old. That's why it's a holy place for Catholicism in Japan!

In the original history, there was also a major event in the vicinity of this place that made the people of Chinese rejoice...... A kind of thing called the atomic bomb fell near Nishisaka Hill.

In the current Nishisaka Hill, a fortress built with sandbags has appeared, called Nishisaka Castle. The castle straddles the Nakajima River, blocking the wide front of Nagasaki Town from Nishibiki-gun to the south. It is said to be wide, that is, in terms of Kyushu Island, in fact, it is only three or four miles wide, and some troops can be placed.

The Shimazu family's army came from this direction and set up camp on the territory north of Nishisaka Castle that belonged to Nishi-Bi-gun. The camp is well established, and it is located on the low hills between Nishi-Bi-gun and Nagasaki-gun, and with Omura Bay in the background, occupying a terrain that can advance and retreat freely.

However, it was impossible for the Toyotomi army to take Nagasaki by camping skills, so a major battle was inevitable.
