Chapter XXII
I looked at John and said, "The time and place of the arms deal have been determined?" โ
John listened to me ask about the arms deal and gave me an appreciative look, "Sure." Three days later, in a village near the Venezuelan border. โ
"Far away?" I then asked.
John glanced at Pablo and said, "From here, you can reach it in about two days by means of transportation." But Mr. Balcas wanted to deal with the traitor. โ
I turned to Pablo and said, "With all due respect, Mr. Balcas. You are in such a hurry to deal with traitors not only because you betrayed you, but also because you are making an example of the monkeys and warning the rest of the forces not to have any bad thoughts. โ
When Pablo saw me say this, he frowned at first and looked very unpleasant, but then he stretched out again, let out a long sigh, and said, "Although I don't want to admit it to your face, it is. That's why I want to take out that guy as soon as possible. โ
I nodded, I wasn't going to say much, but for the sake of his graceful performance after I exposed him, I continued: "The person who betrayed you, have you found it?" And is the message reliable? โ
Pablo nodded, "Reliable." After all, it's not just guerrillas who are the head snakes here. My family's history is much older than that of the guerrillas. โ
I believed Pablo's assertion completely, and I looked at John and said, "I think this traitor may be the same as Mr. Balcas thinks at this time." โ
John smiled at me and said, "We're ready and waiting for someone to come to the door." โ
Pablo leaned back in his chair in annoyance, "That bastard is a rich man, hiding in a town at the moment. Tian Tian barely showed his face, just hid in his house. โ
"So we should go and cut off that munition." I took over and said, "When everybody thinks you're going to purge the inside, go the other way and attack the guerrillas first." โ
After I finished speaking, before Pablo could speak, the swollen-faced Cรณrdoba next to him spoke: "Even so, those who make deals are not so easy to deal with, they don't come to trade without any defense. โ
"Of course I do." I glanced at Mr. Swollen Face, continued to look at Pablo and said, "We can release a little vague information that will make people feel that you are preparing to take revenge on that traitor, and that you need to organize a group of people to make people feel that you are impatient to kill the traitor." โ
"And then?" Pablo asked.
"Then push the men into the place where the traitor is, before the men who robbed the arms trade set out. Whereas.. โ
"And when the arms interception begins, bring back the teams that are going to kill the traitors?" Pablo interrupted me and spoke first.
I nodded, "Not only will this divert their targets and let the guerrillas let their guard down, but it will also help us see how the man who betrayed you is arranged." But the key is how to get the message out there and not make it feel like it's done on purpose. โ
"Don't worry about this, I can do it." Pablo said and smiled, "Your plan also reminds me that I can take this opportunity to see if anyone else is in contact with that traitor." He looked at us and said, "How many people do you think are needed to attack them?" โ
John looked at me and said, "If it's mine, it's enough for me." After all, they only had a convoy of about five vehicles, at most twenty or so men, and the people who traded with them were no more than thirty or forty armed men. But not now, I have lost two people, and one is wounded and cannot continue to fight, and now it is only me and the gypsies, so at least ten more people are needed. โ
When Pablo heard that ten people were needed, he turned to look at Mr. Swollen Face to the side, as if to ask if he could still shoot ten good hands. The swollen face thought for a moment and nodded, indicating that it was perfectly fine.
"Yes. Ten people are fine. Pablo nodded in agreement.
"Good. Second, I am responsible for the planning of the plan and the command. John continued.
Originally, I thought Pablo would hesitate, but he nodded cheerfully and said, "There is no problem." โ
John was obviously a little uneasy when he saw Pablo agree so quickly, he looked at the swollen face and said, "I don't expect to have any doubts and reluctance from time to time, if that's the case, I'll quit." โ
Pablo followed John's gaze and looked at his swollen face, and immediately smiled: "Don't worry about Cรณdoba." He will be completely obedient to you in the fight against the guerrillas. โ
"Can you guarantee it?" John looked at Pablo.
Pablo put away his smile and nodded solemnly again: "I promise." โ
"You can rest assured, sir. Even if I have some personal enmity with you, I will not joke about the affairs of the gentleman, so as long as I can win, I will obey your command. After Pablo finished speaking, Cรณrdoba immediately assured that he arrived.
"Okay then. Mr. Balcas, I think you can tell each of the ten men right away, get your weapons ready, and if you have good marksmanship and sniper rifles, you can bring them, no one has about five grenades, no machine guns or anything. Set off in batches tonight. Later, I will tell you the meeting place, and you will tell each group of people who are responsible for leading the group separately where they meet. After that, Mr. Balcas, you'll have to get down to the traitors. John said as he got up from his chair to leave.
"No problem. Cordoba will be ready soon. โ
At the end of my meeting with Pablo, John and I went to see the body of Bill Jr., which had been placed in a coffin and was ready to be transported back to the United States by connector. Little Bill's appearance has been sorted out, and in addition to his neat appearance, there is also a suit. I think if he was a government soldier, he would go back with the flag and even remembered by the unit he belonged to. But not here, he is just a mercenary like us, without a flag, and no one will remember him, because those who remember him may not be long before they need to be remembered.
Then we went to see the wounded Walker, where John told us the conclusion of the discussion with Pablo. He said that the Connector still hopes to fight and suppress the FARC by propping up Pablo's forces, and although his forces have been hit hard at the moment, it is in a way more conducive to cooperation between the two sides. While I don't know what would be good for cooperation, I do know how much I can leverage myself in negotiations with Pablo. The next time he comes, he will bring trainers and a group of weapons to help train and equip Pablo's men, and continue to provide him with intelligence support. Finally, John told us the news that we were most concerned about, and that was the news about wizards. This man's real name is Cellly? Christopher, who served in the SAS before disappearing during an operation, was unknown until he appeared in Colombia two years ago and played for the FARC, and some of his men were mercenaries and some of them were trained by his own hands in Colombia. One of our missions in Colombia this time is to kill as many wizards as possible.
Hearing this, Walker and I subconsciously glanced at each other. This goal can be said to be quite difficult, it is more difficult than fighting the entire guerrilla army, although the wizard also serves the guerrillas, but his quality and ability are much stronger than the rest of the guerrillas. In yesterday's battle, we tried to attack him from his rear while we were in chaos, and we tried to ambush him in the midst of a massive rout of the receiving team, but we lost Bill Jr. in the later firefight, and Walker was wounded. This shows that this wizard has a strong ability to adapt and react, which not only means that it is difficult to have a chance to destroy the other party, but more importantly, it is also very dangerous to ourselves. However, this does not mean that we are afraid, when we see too many living and dead people, we will slowly become numb, not only for the lives of others, but also for our own lives. In the end, Walker, knowing that we would soon have a new operation, had no choice but to wish us good luck and hope that we would come back alive.
After coming out of Walker, John and I went our separate ways. Because he had to sort out the information and designate the plan of action, the route of travel, and the meeting place. And for the time being, I had nothing to do, so I came to the yard to wander around, where I saw the oil bottle and looked into the distance in the yard in a daze.
"What are you studying?" I walked up to him and asked.
The oil bottle seemed to be frightened, and looked at me sideways and said, "No... No. Just looking at that forest reminded me of my fellow archaeologists. โ
"Oh." I sighed, found a place to sit down, and said, "You can't come back to life after death." You should go home, although our place is not a developed country, at least life is comfortable. โ
When the oil bottle saw me sit down, he also found a place to sit down and looked at me and said, "I don't want to go back, I still have something to do." โ
"What's the matter? You don't really want to avenge your companions, do you? I asked.
"Hmm. That's what I want to do at the moment. The oil bottle nodded earnestly.
"Haha." Hearing him say this, I couldn't help but laugh, "Yesterday you have seen what it feels like to shoot each other with a gun in hand, what do you think is the chance that you will be able to take revenge alive?" โ
"It's not a good chance." The answer came as a surprise to me, but he continued, "I heard Miranda say that the Americans would send people to train the people here, and I wanted to participate. โ
"Huh." I smiled helplessly and stood up and said, "Those people will be here soon, training is not easy, you have to work hard." While that doesn't guarantee that you won't die, it at least makes it more likely that you'll kill the other person. I was about to go back, I wanted to ask him what his name was, but I dismissed the idea when I learned that he wanted to stay and fight the guerrillas, because it was not interesting for me to get to know someone who had a high chance of losing his life, and it would make me feel lost and war-weary again, and I didn't like that feeling, so I didn't want to talk to him anymore.
"Wait." I took two steps and dragged the oil bottle behind me to stop me, and after I turned to look at him, he continued, "Why are you fighting here? โ
"That's none of your business." After I finished speaking, I turned around again and prepared to leave, but his voice came again, "Then what should I do if I fight with the guerrillas in the future, and I find that I can't beat them?" โ
"Run! Let yourself get out alive. I said as I walked without looking back.
