Chapter 114: A New Quest (Part II)

When I brought the men back to the station, they were excited when they learned that they were going to cover the former leader to escape NATO's pursuit, except for Yugovich and his men. It seems that this unlucky ghost in Dragan's mouth does have a different status in the hearts of many Serbs, especially those who are still engaged in armed struggle.

"We'll leave tonight." After telling everyone the purpose of the mission, Younis said, "While you were going to bring them back, I received a call that Mosinic would leave the morning and afternoon of the day after tomorrow to lead the team to Bosnia and Herzegovina. โ€

"And what are our specific plans?" I asked.

The old guy looked at Dragan, who smiled and said, "Someone will answer you when you get there." The person who answered will tell you the details of the situation and what to do. Our aim is to cover the withdrawal of the target to the Serbian border after the opponent has moved. โ€

"So there's an armed one over there, too? How many people are there? Milk asked.

"That's right. There were thirty people in number, the weapons were only ordinary AK rifles, and the ammunition was not very large. Dragan said.

"It's not a problem, we can offer some to them. As long as we can carry weapons across the border. Milk said and looked at Eunice.

Younis spread his hands and said, "No problem. Nicky had already arranged passages for the partisans. โ€

"Are you going or not?" I asked, looking at Younis.

Younis nodded, "I'll wait for you at the border." As for the battle, I won't cause you any trouble. โ€

"Huh. Didn't you say it was enjoyable last time? I said.

"Yes. It's so enjoyable. Then I had nightmares for days on end, all of which were full of bullets flying that day. The old fellow said and poured another sip of wine.

"And what about this Mr. Dragan? Come with us or stay with you on the border? I looked at the bearded Dragan.

"He's with me. Didn't you just say that? Someone came with you. Don't count on us old guys. Younis said.

"Okay. So let me confirm that there are thirty people who are cooperating with us, and our task is to cover the target's retreat to the Serbian border, is that so? I asked.

"That's right. That's right. The specific plan of action and the route of the retreat will be communicated to you when we meet the people who meet you. Dragan said.

"That's good." I looked at the oil bottle, "Prepare your weapons." Bring twice as much as last time, and give it to the person who picked us up over there when the time comes. I turned to Younis, "You'll need to get me some more equipment and ammunition." โ€

"No problem. You can take as much as you want. But how long will it take for you to resupply? You used almost everything you shipped over last time? The old fellow asked.

I shook my head, "It's not a bad thing to have more, why don't I tell you when I find that it's not enough?" Maybe I was at war at the time. โ€

"Good, good. You're the captain of the action, and these listen to you. After the old fellow Eunice finished speaking, he continued, "Any other questions?" โ€

"Yes. If you cross the border, will those who are pursuing them stop? What to do if you cross the border? Do you want someone to pick it up? Milk asked.

"On the border, there are Serbian border guards. As long as you can cross the border, you don't have to worry about the problems after that. Younis affirmed.

"Oh well. Then we'll go and prepare. Milk looked at the oil bottle and motioned for them to get ready.

Then I looked at Dragan and suddenly remembered a question, "Mr. Dragan, I would like to ask you a question." โ€

"What's the problem?" The guy looked at me and said.

"We have a priest named Vukovic near here, he also participated in the Bosnia-Herzegovina war before, he is Serbian, I don't know if you have heard of it?" I said as I watched Dragan's eyes and movements.

"Vukovic?" Dragan looked at me as if to think, "I know more than one named Vukovic. I don't know who you're talking about, but if it's a pastor, then I'm sorry, I don't think I know. โ€

"Oh. He was a pastor after returning from Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was certainly not before, it should have been a Serbian soldier, it should have been an officer. I said.

"Huh. Then I may have seen it, but Vukovic is a common name, just like my name. I don't think what you're talking about is necessarily something I know. Dragan smiled.

"Okay." I nodded, this old guy's performance should not be nonsense, his tone was calm, there was no superfluous subconscious movements, and his eyes were also very flat and staring directly at me, which showed that he was not talking nonsense. "I'll go outside and have a look. By the way, has Nicky's car arrived? โ€

"It's here. Who else sent us? But this time it was Zhao, that fellow countryman of yours, who sent us over. Younis said.

"Okay. Then I'll go see my fellow countrymen. As soon as I walked out of the barracks, I saw a sentry running over, "Vukovic is here, as if he has something with him." โ€

"Vukovic. I know. I quickened my pace to the outside of the station, and by this time Vukovic had already gotten out of the car and saw it walking towards me.

"What good things did you bring me?" I asked with a smile.

"Nothing. It's some stuff from Bunotts' farm, and he asked me to send you some. By the way, Trovic should have arrived. Vukovic asked.

"By the time he arrived, he was already resting in the woods with his men." I said and hugged Vukovic.

Vukovic looked at the oil bottle that was carrying the equipment on his back and carrying weapons and ammunition to the car with people, turned his head and said: "Are you going to do something?" โ€

I looked at him, "yes." There's a new mission. And this time it's still far away. โ€

"Then I won't inquire. I unloaded my stuff and had a few chats with Trovic before heading back. Vukovic said cautiously.

I shook my head, "Nothing. You are trustworthy. โ€

Vukovic heard me say this, but just smiled and did not speak. I looked at the oil bottle, "Remember to ask them to bring their communication equipment." Bring more ammunition, don't be reluctant. It's done checking a few times. โ€

"Got it. It's not the first time I've done this. The oil bottle complained.

At this moment, Vukovic grabbed me and said, "Who is that person?" โ€

I looked in the direction of his gaze, and it was the old fellow and Dragan standing inside the station, smoking and talking. I looked at Vukovic, who was also bearded, but I could feel that he was visibly excited and nervous.

"Which? Do you think the old guy with the red face or the bearded guy like you? I asked.

"Of course it's the bearded one." Vukovic said quickly.

I nodded, "Oh." The man's name was Dragan. It was brought by the red-faced Younis. How? Do you know? He is also from Bosnia and Herzegovina. โ€

; Vukovic apparently quickly adjusted his mood after hearing my question, turned to look at me and said, "Oh. I don't know it, but it's familiar, maybe I've seen it in Bosnia and Herzegovina before. โ€

Just as Vukovic was saying this, Younis and Dragan walked towards the door. I looked at Vukovic, "Do you know each other?" Maybe you've fought side by side. โ€

Vukovic looked up at Dragan who was walking here, as if he was hesitating. But after a moment he turned to look at me, "Well, let's get acquainted." โ€

"Hey! Mr. Dragan. This is the Vukovic I told you about. "I looked at Dragandau.

Dragan behaved normally, he looked at me and then at Vukovic, and walked over to us very calmly, "Hello, Father Vukovic. โ€

"Hello Mr. Dragan. I heard that you also spent time in Bosnia and Herzegovina? Vukovic asked.

"Huh. It's actually my hometown. Dragan smiled, "Once home." โ€

Vukovic nodded, and suddenly said, "I'm very sorry, I have something to do, I have to get out of here first." He looked at me, "Can you take me to see Trovic?" โ€

"Okay." I promised.

"I'm sorry, both of you. I hope to have the opportunity to meet you again in the future and have a good chat. Vukovic said very politely.

Younis didn't say anything, a completely indifferent expression. Dragan smiled kindly, saying it was a pleasure to meet Vukovic here.

After I took Vukovic into the station, Vukovic looked back, I looked at him and said, "You behaved very strangely today. You must know that person. โ€

"Sort of. It's a good thing he didn't recognize me," Vukovic said hesitantly, looking at me.

"It doesn't seem like it's pleasant between you." I asked.

Vukovic shook his head, "He didn't recognize me. As for pleasantness? From the beginning of that war, it was doomed that there would be no good ending. As he spoke, he looked at me, as if in an inner struggle, and then said, "My advice to you, my friends, is that some people better stay away from them." Being close to those people may bring you disaster. โ€

I looked at Vukovic, and he said something strange. Referring to Dragan? Disaster? As for it? Or is he referring to the person who is covering for the mission we are going to carry out? This Dragan was the man next to that man, and Vukovic came to this conclusion when he saw him here. Well, it's reasonable to think that way.

After meeting Trovic and preparing to send Vukovic away, Vukovic repeated the advice he had just given. I wanted to ask him about the Croats and Muslims who had responded to the Count's call, but I gave up on Vukovic's unstable mood. I'll ask for a chance later.

Soon, our preparations were all done. After explaining my business to Bogdan, I boarded the truck and set out on the road to Bosnia and Herzegovina.

And just before the truck started, the old guy suddenly stuck his head into the car and said to us, "That's right." I haven't set a code name yet. My student, why didn't you ask me this time? โ€

"Poofใ€‚ใ€‚ใ€‚ใ€‚ใ€‚ All right. What is the code name for the operation, my Chief of Intelligence? I asked.

"Operation Codename - Hermit! My Excellency Operation Captain. โ€
