Chapter 21: Warriors and Martyrs (Part II)
"You go first. I stayed behind to fend off them for a while. I said, raising my gun and preparing to shoot.
"We're waiting for you in the backyard. Once everyone gets in the car, let Sasha pick you up. Paul said as he pulled Younis and walked back.
At this moment, there were footsteps outside, and from the sound, it was heard that there were many people on the other side. Several figures slowly approached the door. I was ready, and I aimed at one of the figures in the middle and pulled the trigger.
Two bursts of fire, and the figure fell. As soon as I pulled the trigger, I aimed at the other person, the one closest to me. The sudden sound of gunfire made these people change direction in an instant, and they each stepped back. But it makes it easier for me to take them out. I made another short click, and the man fell straight to the ground. But they had no other companions, and they all started shooting at me, and though they were not accurate, they were so dense that I could not respond effectively for a while.
Judging by the figure, the sound of the gunfire and the accuracy, I could tell that this was not an American or an Englishman. They were supposed to be rebels. A moment later there was a shouting outside, which proved this even more, for it was not English at all.
Since I couldn't fight back, I retreated to the backyard and abandoned the doorway. After a while, the people outside probably leaned in again, and then threw a grenade at the door. The grenade exploded and smashed the door and doubled the size of the door.
Then two guns came out of the breach and fired indiscriminately into the house, and after someone tried to enter the house, I pulled the trigger on them continuously, and after a burst of shooting, I returned them with a grenade. The grenade rolled against the ground to the doorway, where they stretched out their guns and began to shoot indiscriminately, but before the bullets could fly out of the chamber, the grenades had exploded. The man with the gun out was finished, for I saw the gun fly out with some bits and pieces.
The opponent did not hesitate because the attack did not go well, they came to the outside of the door and continued to shoot inside. At this moment, the sound of a car engine was heard from outside the backyard. Then Sasha's voice came.
"Gypsies. Remove. I'll cover you! As soon as he finished speaking, his gun rang out. The opponent was a little too late to react to the new firepower, and one person was hit and fell to the door.
I immediately ran to the wall behind under Sasha's cover. At this moment Valery was still answering the wall, and when he saw him running to the wall, he fired two shots at the door, and stretched out his hand and pulled me up. I climbed over the fence and Sasha quickly backed up as he shot and climbed over the wall with the help of Valery and me. The car didn't have lights, it just started.
We all got into the car, and after we all got into the car, the guide slammed on the accelerator and rushed out. The enemy quickly occupied the backyard and climbed the fence to shoot at our car, with a few bullets hitting the car, but fortunately there were no casualties.
The guide's car drove very well, and then the moonlight drove all the way out of town. But just as we were about to leave the town, a volley of bullets suddenly came from the side of the road. The bullet struck the guide through the glass of the cab door, and the car immediately lost its direction, but did not lose control. Because Paul took the direction from the co-pilot, and I noticed that the guide was trying to slow down the car.
I rolled down the window and looked behind me, and by now the other person had run up the road and was chasing after us. I immediately looked at Valery and Sasha, who were in the back seat with me, and "Kill them!" ”
I smashed the windshield behind the car with my gun, and together the three of us pulled the trigger on the figure in the road. One figure on the road was shot and fell to the ground, while the others saw us returning fire violently, one fell on the spot and returned fire, and the others retreated to the opposite side of the road.
"Can the car still drive?" I ran out of bullets in my gun and said to Paul as I changed the magazine.
I saw that the guide, who was still trying to bring the car to a steady stop, was now out of breath. Paul hesitated and pulled the car door open, then kicked it open, "Sorry man. I can't take you away. Paul pushed the guide's body out of the car, then sat down in the cab and started the car again.
"Sit tight. Let's rush out! Paul shouted as he walked in the motor
With a roar, he drove the car back into the road and ran out along the road.
The few men who had intercepted us on the road quickly disappeared into the darkness, and soon even their gunshots could not be heard. I let out a long sigh of relief. I looked around the people in the car and everyone was fine, at least not worse than before departure.
"Paul, do you know where to go?" I asked, glancing at Paul, who was driving.
Paul shook his head, "The guide only told me to follow the road before he lost his breath. ”
"Don't worry. Just go in this direction and it won't be long before we reach the border. However, it is better to walk and take the trail after dawn. Younis spoke.
"Walking again? If you haven't been beaten to death, you might have died walking. Sasha began to complain.
Valery patted Sasha, "You know what? I hurt my ear. ”
"Yes. What's wrong? Sasha asked, looking at Valery.
"Should you consider carrying me on your back? I'm a wounded! Valery said seriously.
Hearing him say this, Sasha suddenly hugged his leg and said, "I suddenly found that my leg was injured. Valery, it looks like you're going to have to carry me. ”
The joking didn't last long, because after almost two hours of driving, the tire went flat. When I asked if I would like to see if there was a spare tire, Paul shook his hand and told us that the car was not just a problem. He pointed to the hood and said, "The water tank is probably leaking too." Turn on the engine again and the pot will be boiled. ”
So we packed our things and carried Pyatov on a stretcher and started walking. We kept walking along the road until it started to light up and we started to move away from the road.
During the daytime, the sound of passing cars can be heard from the highway from time to time. But we're not going to ask for a ride. Now the people who can boldly drive out of the world, and from time to time are fleeing for their lives, it is the militants. Near noon, we saw a helicopter attacking a vehicle on the road from a distance. The car had been smashed into burning scrap metal, and needless to say, none of the people in the car had survived.
We continued onward, in the direction of the border. As we approached evening, the sound of gunfire was faintly heard from the direction we were heading. Paul, who was at the front of the line, immediately motioned for us to stop.
About two hundred meters ahead of us was a small dirt bag, or sand bag. The gunshots came from behind that. The gunfire was not very dense, but it continued.
"It's like a firefight." Sasha said.
"Gypsy, Sasha, you two and I will go over and have a look. Valery and Pintoliu are bullish on Pyatov and Younis here. With that, Paul, Sasha and I dropped the bag we were carrying, took only a gun and some ammunition, and leaned over there.
I quickly climbed up on that little punching bag and looked down. About 100 meters below this sandbag, there is a small village that has been abandoned for a long time. The topography of the village is peculiar, located in the middle of this sandbag and another hill pack, and the terrain is relatively high. About twenty-three people are besieging the village at the moment. Judging from the attire and weapons of these twenty or thirty people, they are not rebels. But it's not like the American and British armies.
"Is it a bunch of mercenaries?" I spoke.
Paul looked at the situation below and said, "What's strange about this, aren't you?" ”
"I mean what are we going to do? It's not a good thing that these guys are here. I looked left and right, "Are we going to bypass them?" ”
Paul didn't answer, but continued to look at the group that was besieging the village. These guys are well-trained in terms of tactical movement and coordination. On the road to this small village are parked several Humvees. If it weren't for the geographical advantage of the small village, it would certainly not be the opponent of this gang
But there was no way for them to escape. ”
"Looks like it's going to be caught." Paul began, "They're not fighting like they're trying to destroy, they're trying to round up targets." ”
"Leave it to mind what they're going to do. I'm concerned about what we're going to do now. Sasha said impatiently, "I warn you, we don't have much water with us. I don't want to drink pee. ”
Paul glared at Sasha and said, "It's good to have urine to drink." Be careful that you don't even urinate. ”
Just as we were talking, there was movement from behind me, and I immediately raised my gun and looked behind me. I saw Younis climb up.
"What are you doing here?" Paul asked.
Younis looked down at the situation and said, "I want to see what's going on." ”
"A gang of mercenaries are arresting people." Sasha said.
Younis glanced at Paul and said, "What are you going to do?" ”
"Go around. Continue to move towards our goals. Paul replied.
Younis shook his head, "I don't want to run. Let's go. ”
"Why? Why not go? Did we come all the way to meet you? Paul said a little angrily.
Younis smiled and said, "I've been against the Americans all my life. In the end, their own country was messed up by the Americans. Then I went to Iraq, and I had the opportunity to fight against the Americans again, but now it's like this. I've been here for almost 10 years, and it's not an exaggeration to say I'm Iraqi. I'm too old to keep running around. Back then, I was not able to save my motherland, so let me make some more trouble for the Americans today, which can be regarded as a little revenge of my own. He said as he held out his hand to Paul.
We knew we were asking Paul for a weapon. Instead of handing him the gun, Paul sighed after looking at him for a moment and said, "You're going to rush straight down and shout at Ula." And then fell down with a few shots? ”
Younis continued to stretch out his hand and smiled, "That's it. The Motherland did not go to war with the Americans, otherwise I think I would have had such an opportunity a long time ago. Actually, I've always dreamed of being a charging soldier, not a thief and catching thieves. ”
Paul looked at Sasha, "Let Pinto and Valery come up." ”
