Volume 2 Sea Country Cloud Sky Chapter 161 Kumarosh
Duo'er's marriage came to an end for the time being, and her mother resumed her daily habit of worshipping the Buddha. ┏┛
The period from the annual summer lunar New Year to the local Buddha Festival in Khotan is also the happiest and relaxing day of the year for the subjects of the entire kingdom.
Whether it is the altar of Zanmo Temple outside the city, or the Buddhist dojo on Wangcheng Square, there will be traveling monks from all over the world who come here to preach the scriptures and educate sentient beings.
This year is the same, and the entire royal city is eagerly awaiting the arrival of a Master of the Three Tibets of the Kingdom of Qiuzi, who is the famous monk Kumarosh in the Western Regions.
It is said that this Buddha was born into a wealthy family, his father was a poisonous family, and his mother was the sister of the king of Qiuzi.
Since he was a child, he became a monk with his mother, traveled around the poisonous world, and read the great and small Theravada scriptures.
After returning to Qiuzi from the poison, he began to preach the scriptures and teachings, and became famous throughout the Western Regions for a while.
In the sixth year of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the former Qin general Lu Guang destroyed Qiuzi, brought the Gumo Sanzang to Liangzhou, and built the Gumo Rosh Temple for him to translate the scriptures and preach until today.
When my grandfather was alive, every time he passed through Liangzhou on his eastward journey, he would go to this temple to give alms in order to seek peace on the way.
Why did the monk Kuma come to Khotan from the Han land thousands of miles away, and listened to the introduction of the host of the Zanmo Temple, he came for a Sanskrit scripture that poisoned the country.
I still remember the pomp and circumstance when Kumarosh and his retinue of horses first entered the royal city, and it was truly empty, and His Majesty the king himself waited for the arrival of the monks in front of the mountain gate of the ashram.
My family's courtyard in the royal city is facing the most prosperous street in Khotan.
Standing on the terrace on the second floor, you can clearly see every car and horse and every pedestrian walking on the street.
When Kuma Sanzang's horse caravan passed by my house, my mother, Gulando, and my wife, Kurina, and other devout Buddhists were incoherent with excitement.
Kneeling on the ground, singing the Buddha name of "Amitabha", watching the monks go away.
This Kumarosh was indeed an extraordinary man, full of heaven, with his ears hanging down his shoulders, his eyes deep and clear, wearing a maroon robe of the Eastern Earth, riding on a Bactrian camel, and reciting the scriptures with his hands folded.
It seems to be deaf to the worship of countless men and women on both sides of the road.
Behind him were a hundred and ten retinues in civilian clothes, ranging from guards to cooks, more pompous than the legations of a large country.
It is said that in order to get this high monk, the former Qin Fujian did not hesitate to launch a war to destroy the country against Qiuzi, and now Yao Qin is the highest position of the national teacher, waiting for his submission.
Being able to participate in his puja and listen to the voice of the eminent monk is also a blessing that can be met but not sought.
So I used all the connections in the royal city to get two seats for the top believers.
His Majesty the King presided over the ceremony, and the senior monk Kuma gave a lecture, which should be the most solemn Buddhist ceremony in Khotan in the Western Regions since the new monarch ascended the throne.
In the past two days, Kumarosh will be in the guest house of the royal city, and devote himself to studying this manuscript of the Buddhist scriptures of his own poisonous country.
The content of his sermon three days later also came from this legendary book.
The scriptures that can be brought to Khotan in person by a Buddha-like monk must be a masterpiece of the world, and I am also full of curiosity about it.
Unfortunately, there were only two seats, one for my mother, Mrs. Khotan, and the other between me, Doer, and my wife, Kuzhina.
"Brother! Let me go with Grandma! You don't usually believe in the Buddha much, don't spoil this seat! ”
Gulando's first strike was strong, and he rubbed me and my mother.
"Husband, I also want to go to the monks to pray for our Su'er! Listen to the masters of Zanmo Temple, and listen to the Buddha's teachings on the spot, which is better than building a seven-level floating slaughter! ”
Kuzhna, who had never asked anything of me, also pleaded in a resolute tone.
In the past few years when we went west to Rome, she would burn incense and worship in front of the Buddhist hall at home with her grandmother every morning and evening, praying for the blessing of the Buddha.
Therefore, she also attributed our safe return to the Buddha's compassion.
My wife's plea made me unbearable to refuse, but I couldn't bear to offend Dor's little sister.
Since the last quarrel and the tearing apart of Duo'er's non-mother's biological daughter, now the family will let this girl do everything, for fear that she will be hurt in any way.
"It's better to go with me in Jincheng, your brother and husband have heard that there are many killings and sins in that Roman country, so you can take this opportunity to let Kuma Buddha go over!"
My mother's words also saved me from the entanglement between myself and their sister-in-law.
Three days later, the Dharma held as scheduled, and the altar paved with beautiful jade and yellow silk was filled with purple smoke.
His Majesty the King gave a speech, and after the local monks prayed, the monk Hauma appeared indifferently.
Dressed in a loose and frugal robe, holding red sandalwood Buddha beads, facing all the believers sitting cross-legged on the tall futon, singing a "Amitabha" Buddha name, and reading the scriptures and interpreting them all the way.
The voice was soft and long, as if it could pierce through the walls of the city ahead and the vaults of heaven.
Even if you sit at the last of the ashram, you can clearly hear every syllable uttered by the monk, and you are really a god!
Since the whole lecture lasted only one morning, the monk only preached a certain passage in the Buddhist scriptures.
To sum up, it is "the theory of phase and non-phase":
All sentient beings and the like – if oviparous, viviparous, wet, incarnated; If it is colored, if it is colorless; If you think, if you don't think; If I don't think about it, I will let it go into nirvana and destroy it. If it is the destruction of immeasurable and countless boundless sentient beings, there are no sentient beings who have attained extinction. Why? Subodhi! If a bodhisattva has the appearance of self, the appearance of people, the appearance of sentient beings, and the appearance of the long-lived, that is, the fissa
All the devotees, including my mother, were so enchanted that they seemed to be able to grasp the mystery.
I may have sins and shallow Taoist cultivation, but I don't know why I hear it.
The puja was followed by a ceremony where the monks touched the top of the puja, and the audience received the blessings and blessings of Guma's compassion, whether they gave or not.
"Master, what is it that all appearances are false, and if you see all the things that are not the same, you will see them as they are? The disciple is dull, please enlighten the master! ”
When it was my turn to walk past the mage's altar, it occurred to me on a whim and bow to him.
In fact, I didn't want to ask, I just wanted to take this opportunity to chat with this mysterious monk.
"Amitabha! The donor read Mencius. Wholeheartedly, right? Confucius climbed the East Mountain and Xiaolu, and waited for Mount Tai and the world. ”
Perhaps I was the only Han Chinese in the ashram who spoke the Han dialect, which aroused the interest of the eminent monk, who smiled at me gently.
"The disciple has read it to the effect that only by ascending can we see far, and only by transcending things can we see the disputes in the world clearly." I replied with a humble bow.
"Amitabha, the same is true of the phase and the non-phase, the six roots of the body are lost in the phase, and only the non-phase has no self, can we reach the other side!"
Venerable Kuma bowed to the Buddha with one hand and sang the Buddha's horn.
"May I ask the master, how can the disciple be forgiven by the Buddha for committing many sins as a businessman?"
Seeing that the monk Kuma was willing to communicate with me, I continued to ask reverently despite the urging of the believers behind me.
"Amitabha! I see the benefactor as having deep roots in wisdom, and he is not like a person who does evil. There is no two ways to participate in Buddhism, all good and all evil are not done, and good fortune comes! ”
"May I ask Master, what is a Buddha?"
I asked so many questions to Master Kuma that even my mother couldn't stand it, and for fear of offending the Buddha, she hurriedly dragged me away.
"Amitabha! Everything has a way of doing things, like a dream bubble, like dew and electricity, and should be viewed as such. ”
Gen-la Kumarosh seemed to have a crush on me, the young benefactor, and answered all questions.
But I was too embarrassed to ask any further, otherwise I would have been drawn into the king's guards and would have blasted me out of this solemn ashram for blasphemy against the Buddha.
Fifteen years later, I led the caravan to pass through Chang'an again, and entered the ancient temple of Xiaoyao Garden, where the master translated and preached.
His disciples told me that the monk Kuma had brought back more than 100 copies of the Sanskrit scriptures from Khotan and Shache.
In the first three years of Qin Hongshi, Yao Xing, the king of Qin, broke through Liangzhou, welcomed Gumo Sanzang into Chang'an, and treated him with the courtesy of a national teacher.
The master led the ordinary disciples, and it took ten years to translate these body poison Buddhist scriptures into the Han Di Yayan.
Among them, the Mahayana sutra that Kuma Buddha personally came to Khotan to greet and speak for us, and the translated Han sutra is called "Vajra Prajnaparamita Sutra".
Later generations referred to it as: "Diamond Sutra".
