Chapter Seventy-Three: The Puzzle (38)
"I see." I nodded and looked at the door of the room and whispered, "This guy has had a lot of gunshot wounds recently, could this guy also help someone else treat such injuries?" ”
Hearing me say this, Ivan withdrew his gaze from the wound on my shoulder and looked at me in a low voice, "You mean... Someone from the west? ”
"Of course. I don't think it's necessary for locals or people from the northeast to come here, right? "I saw the dentist come in with medical equipment for cleaning and stitches.
Ivan closed his mouth, looked at the dentist and said, "Does he need some medicine or something?" ”
The dentist glanced at Ivan, "Didn't you learn it yourself?" Is it OK to take medicine? Unless you're addicted. ”
Ivan shrugged his shoulders and turned to look at me, "Is there anything else you want me to do?" If not, I'll have to go. ”
I nodded, "Let's go." I'll contact you if there's a situation. ”
Ivan nodded and looked at the dentist, "Come on, give me the remittance information and I'll send you the money." ”
The dentist immediately stopped what he was doing, looked at Ivan and smiled, and then followed Ivan out. Lukovich and Tuo Flask also left with Ivan after greeting me.
The dentist came back a moment later. He looked at me and smiled, "Do you know why I'm willing to do this?" ”
I shook my head and said, "It can't be because you're helpful, right?" ”
"Helpful? Of course.. That's a good word for you. I just love helping people. He shook his head as he spoke, and said as he busied himself with what he was doing, "You really have to hold back for a while." I'm a dentist, so I can't make a sound like killing a pig, that would be suspicious. ”
When you really start cleaning the wound ... I immediately knew why this guy kept telling me repeatedly. Because that feeling, it's really the same as going to the punishment, especially when cleaning the wound, it is directly scrubbed at the breach... The pain was like a sensation that rushed straight to the brain, and a cold sweat broke out on my body in an instant. On the contrary, when I started to stitch, it felt less obvious. I guess it was too painful before, but the pain caused by the stitches was not so great, but I felt a lot more relaxed.
When it was over, the dentist smiled and said, "Okay." Don't be so tight, aren't you tired? ”
I looked at him and said, "Don't you know it really hurts?" ”
"Yes. Of course I do. You're doing well, humming a little louder, but at least you don't scream. I guess I would have scolded it a long time ago. Haha," he said, taking out a towel and handing it to me, "wipe your sweat yourself." Tough guy. Would you like me to pour you some wine? ”
I shook my head, "Isn't it because you can't drink because you're injured?" Isn't painkiller better and more straightforward? ”
"Huh. Painkillers? Don't you know that medicine is the worst? If you can bear it, it's best not to take these antibiotics, pain relievers and other drugs, it's not good for you. The dentist said as he cleaned up.
"I can't see you're quite responsible." I said.
"Of course! How else would you have found me? The dentist looked at me and said dissatisfiedly, "Do you think you can do this casually?" ”
"No. Of course not. I'm sorry. I don't mean anything malicious. I hastened to explain.
The dentist apparently didn't bother to talk to me, he quickened to pack his things, then looked at me, "Help me push that companion of yours into the room that was assigned to you." ”
I nodded and followed the dentist to Christovich's room. At the moment he was on a drip, covered with a quilt, and fell asleep with his eyes closed.

; I looked at the dentist and whispered, "Is he unconscious or asleep?" ”
The dentist looked at me and said, "Don't worry. As long as he doesn't get infected and the wound doesn't go wrong, he can't die. As for whether he is asleep or unconscious, does it make a difference to him now? It's not that they won't wake up and become vegetative. ”
I pushed Christovich's bed, followed the dentist, reached the end of the hallway, turned right, and came to a room with a closed door. When the dentist opened the door, I looked to the left, and at the end of the passage on the left side was a door, and from the air window on the door, I could see that the lights were on in the room outside the door, and there seemed to be the sound of people talking from time to time. Presumably, it should be the dentist's face, a formal workplace.
The dentist quickly opened the door to the room in front of us, and I pushed Christovic into the room. I saw that there was another bed in the room, except that the bed was a small cabinet leaning against the head of the bed. There was nothing else but these two, not even a serious window. The light in the entire room is provided entirely by a not-so-bright lamp overhead.
"You're going to sleep in that bed. And I'm in charge of serving the food here. You can go out and buy it yourself, or pay for it and I'll find someone to buy it for you. The dentist walked to the door, "Please stay in the room when you have nothing to do, if you go to the bathroom, go out on your left hand, at the end of the aisle." Don't talk, try not to make noise, and don't ask. Please ring the bell of the bedside when there is a case. Do you understand? ”
"Understood! Totally understood! I hurriedly agreed.
The dentist nodded and continued, "Get some rest." I'm quiet here, perfect for sleeping. After saying that, he turned around and turned off the light, "By the way, there is nothing to turn off the light." Please lock the door. With that, he closed the door and went out.
As soon as he left, I stood up and walked around the room, looking around. I remembered what the dentist said to me not long ago, "Another gunshot wound. Did a civil war start in Ukraine? This sentence. This sentence should have been said by him unintentionally, but it contained important information. Obviously, the people who say he has seen a lot of gunshot wounds lately in this sentence are far more than me and Christovich.
Of course, there was no civil war, let alone an invasion by foreign enemies. So who has experienced the most gunfights lately? Isn't that just us? So who else but us, and probably more than one, had a gunshot wound? The answer, as Ivan said, is probably someone from the west. If that's the case, it's probably still here.
I leaned against the wall and listened, and it was the walls on both sides that I listened, because our room now is in the middle, and there are rooms on either side of me. You must know that people generally have a sense of order and will not arrange people or things at will. The dentist didn't put us on either side but in the middle, probably because there were already people on both sides, at least on one side, so that we got into the middle.
But there was no sound on the walls on either side, it was quiet, nothing could be heard. I went to the door and listened to the movement outside, but there was no special noise.
