To be righteous and ministerful, to be a father and son, to be a good brother, to be a harmonious brother, to make peace with a couple, to set up a system, to establish a field, to be virtuous and brave, and to take merit as oneself. In Confucius's view, this ideal social form had been realized in the time of Yao Shun. In the later social development, the people's hearts are not ancient, the avenue is hidden, and it is a very helpless reality to regress from the public world to the family world, and Confucius can only retreat to the second, hoping to restore the etiquette system of the Western Zhou Dynasty and achieve the goal of a well-off society:
