Two days later, we returned to Pablo's estate. At the moment, there are more people here to participate in training than before we left, and there are more weapons and equipment. You don't have to ask to know that Pablo is going to start a big move. John is right, maybe we'll have to fight the wizard again soon.

Two days after returning to the manor, Pablo summoned all the princes of the Self-Defense Army to a meeting. Not only did they come by themselves, but they also brought their own weapons, and the whole manor suddenly became a staging place, which seemed a little crowded.

I was not eligible to attend the meeting, but Carl and John attended the meeting for its two days. On the first day, it was as if Pablo was making an example of him, dragging Silva into the courtyard in front of everyone and beating him into a sieve. At that time, the expressions of these princes were some excited, some indifferent, and some looked a little nervous. The shot Silva always behaved very calmly, he was not mistreated after being caught, during which he chatted privately with Pablo twice, although this shooting shot was a bit too much, but Silva did not plead from beginning to end, did not curse angrily, and did not laugh meaninglessly or other abnormal behavior, just calmly looked at everyone as if it was not him who was shot, until he fell in a pool of blood.

But in private on the sidelines of the meeting, John told me that Silva had traded his entire wealth and a plausible piece of information for his own family, relatives, friends, and those who followed him for a chance to live. Pablo agreed after a moment's consideration, and by the time the meeting was in place, he had already begun to take over Silva's territory, property, and armed forces.

I couldn't help but be a little worried when John said that he would take over Silva's forces, because when he captured Silva, the local people could actually pick up guns and fight, and it was obvious that Silva was still very popular in his sphere of influence, otherwise it would be difficult to organize men in such a short time. After that, we killed and injured a lot of locals, and I think the locals will definitely be counted on Pablo's head, so I think it is very risky to take over these forces and territory, so it is better to disarm them and drive them out for safety.

John listened to me and said that Karl thought the same way, and brought it up with Pablo. But Pablo apparently didn't care. Because now everyone can see that Pablo is preparing to organize a large-scale offensive operation. Pablo said that he needed manpower, and that he would not take these people to the battlefield, but would only let them stay where they were and be reorganized. The most important thing is not this, but the information about Silva and the actions that Pablo is about to take. That information was important and of little value, because Silva told Pablo that one of his contacts in the guerrillas had mentioned to him that the wizards were planning an operation, an operation that would destroy Pablo, but nothing else was mentioned.

When I heard this information, I couldn't laugh or cry. According to Silva, it's no surprise that wizards would resort to raids to get rid of Pablo. This is exactly what wizards are good at, but if there is no time or place to attack, it is equivalent to not saying, and it is even better not to know, because after knowing, everyone will have scruples in their hearts, which will greatly affect the original plan and judgment.

Finally, there was Pablo's attack, which Karl objected to, and in Karl's opinion, it was time to play steadily and wait for his chance. But Pablo didn't seem to be going to listen to Carl, but now that the meeting was not over, Carl still had a chance to continue to persuade him.

At the moment, the meeting of these important people continued, and I watched the hundreds of people training outside with Walker, who was almost recovering from his injury.

"How many of these people do you think will survive by the time we leave?" I whispered to Walker beside me, smoking a cigarette and looking into the distance.

Walker took a puff of his cigarette and shook his head, "I don't know. It's like you don't know when you go to Chechnya that you're leaving with four-fifths fewer people. โ€

"yes. And these people are still under the command of Pablo. I think he's more of a politician or a businessman than a general. I sighed.

"Whatever." Walker smiled helplessly, "If he was a good general, maybe we wouldn't be here, would we?" Besides, we are not completely at his command, we will have our own judgment. โ€

I smiled and pointed to the people who were training and who had been brought here by other self-defense princes: "Maybe we shouldn't be so pessimistic, maybe Pablo can really cripple the guerrillas in one fell swoop this time?" Although he is a little self-righteous, he is not a stupid person and must have something to rely on. โ€

"I hope he can be a man who will be remembered by Colombian history, as you said." Walker threw away his cigarette butt and said, but the expression was clearly not very optimistic about Pablo.

"It should be said that it is a successful person who is remembered by history." I added.

"Okay. Successful people. Whatever? Anyway, we can get out alive. Walker said and glanced at Ariel's group, who were also on vacation, "What do you think of them?" โ€

I glanced at the men and said, "Okay." At least better than the swollen-faced Cรณdoba candidates. โ€

"Haha. Are you affirming them? And why do you keep shouting cordoba swollen face? Isn't he already swollen? Walker asked.

"Of course I'm affirming their abilities. Do you know them? I asked.

Walker nodded, "Two of them have worked with me before. That Ariel had seen it before. John knows more people than I do, and he knows a lot of people who are willing to pay for war, so both Sveys and Carl persuaded John not to go on his own missions, and to be a connector or an economic man or something. โ€

"It seems that you who take money to fight still have a circle of your own."

Walker gave me a disgruntled look and said, "It's us." Now you're part of the circle too, otherwise how would John have found you? And your European friends, all in this circle. It's just that some of them haven't had a chance to meet yet, or have met, but the way they met is not very friendly. โ€

"Okay. I hope we don't have an unfriendly way of meeting in the future. I sighed helplessly.

"Haha. As long as you don't come to the Americas or the Middle East. I don't think we're going to have that kind of meeting. Walker patted me on the shoulder, "I'm hungry, let's go get something to eat." These trainings are not interesting, waiting until you get to the battlefield and come back alive is better than a year of training. โ€

In the evening, as I was in my room getting ready to go to bed, John knocked on my door. His face was not good-looking, and he looked depressed. He said a word to me and went to the conference room for a meeting and turned to leave.

When I went out, I saw Walker, who was also about to go to the conference room. I asked him what was going on, and he shook his head and said he didn't know either.

When we arrived in the conference room, the big names of the Self-Defense Forces had already left the place and should go to rest. It was only Carl and Ariel and his team in the room. Carl's face was equally ugly, even more ugly than John's, because his face was full of anger.

Karl said directly after seeing all of us due: "Our Mr. Balcas has decided to attack the guerrilla-controlled area in a big way the day after tomorrow. This is an area that I think John and your people will be familiar with, and it's the village where you rescued him. I understand that you knew before that we were against this offensive plan, but dear Mr. Balcas decided to do it, saying that it was a joint operation with the Colombian government forces and that it should not be missed. He was very optimistic about this operation, which in his opinion would be a heavy blow to the partisans. But I can tell you now that it's not that simple. Karl raised his voice as he spoke, "This ****** is nonsense." You don't know what the Self-Defense Forces look like. If the guerrillas do not take the initiative to attack them and thus infringe on their interests, the ghost will believe that they will do their best to fight the guerrillas. Mr. Balkas had made the decision to attack based on unreliable information, and claimed that if the wizard wanted to take action against him, he would have to strike first. It's stupid. โ€

Karl took a few breaths in a row after scolding, calmed down for a while, and then looked up at us and said, "Now everyone, I have two pieces of news for you, one good and one bad, which one do you want to hear first?" โ€

We all looked at each other, but we didn't speak. Because with Karl like that, nothing good will come of it. John, who was standing next to me, said, "Forget it, Carl. Just tell them. โ€

Karl rubbed his hands together and said helplessly, "The good news is that our Mr. Balcas has decided not to take everyone with him on this operation. He wants to prove that he is right, without the need for any helper. But according to my reasoning, it wouldn't help if we brought us, because there were too few of us. After that, he paused, then said, "The bad news is. Since this operation seems likely to fail in my opinion, we need to be prepared to wipe his ass. And this butt will be difficult to wipe clean, it will be dangerous. โ€

"Is it to take him out and make sure he stays alive?" Ariel asked.

Karl didn't answer the question immediately, he hesitated for a moment before saying, "As for what to do, let's talk about it then." He said and stood up, "I just want to get out of this damn conference room and go back to sleep in that damn room right now." โ€

Carl kicked away the chair in front of him and slammed the door. Leave us people looking at each other.

A day later, the armed men assembled throughout the manor were mobilized, and they were all organized, along with a large number of people who had been trained before, including the oil bottles, in Pablo? Under the leadership of Balcas and many of the leading figures of the Self-Defense Army, the morale was high and the morale was high, and he set out with confidence. I watched them leave until they disappeared into the distant woods. I had a bad feeling that the guerrillas were waiting for them to come to my door.
