Chapter 6 Chasing Soldiers
We moved quickly in the direction of the beggar, but did not directly answer him. John told Walker to pick it up, and the three of us continued in the direction where we could see firing at the moment. Judging from the shooting situation, the number of opponents was about three people.
But when we came a hundred meters behind the beggar's side, we found that it was not like that at all. Because I found out that someone was already trying to outflank him.
We ran into these men head-on, and John was the first to spot the movement ahead. He raised his hand and motioned for me and Bill Jr. to disperse left and right behind him. The three of us crouched down, and after a while, several figures with guns appeared in the field of vision.
John pulled the trigger first, and Bill Jr. and I fired at the shadows that came out of the way, and the M4A1 was almost a light machine gun in full automatic mode. The black shadows fell one after another.
"Attack forward." John said, getting up and moving forward.
As soon as I walked a few steps, bullets flew from time to time in the woods ahead. However, judging from the accuracy of shooting, it is not that he sees a clear target, but that he is just shooting blindly in the general direction after seeing his own people being attacked and losing his voice.
The three of us kept moving forward, and when we saw the figure flashing out, we opened fire. After a few moments, we overtook the beggar from the right side of the beggar.
"Beggars, we are on your right. All attacks advance. John whispered.
After the beggar and Walker responded clearly, our team marched forward in a line through the jungle. But at this moment the guerrillas suddenly seemed to have disappeared, and no one was in sight, and soon even movement was rarely heard.
I looked at John, who began to slow down, and I guess he sensed something was wrong. After all, no one would give up such an arrest so easily.
Suddenly, there was the roar of a car motor from ahead, followed by several bright lights shining into the woods. This trick not only instantly illuminates a large area around us, but also makes our eyes instantly white and we can't see anything. At the moment when the bright light came, we instinctively fell down.
Immediately after, amid the roar of a person, a fierce burst of gunfire erupted from the opposite side. We all lay down to avoid the bullets and turned off our night vision devices. This seemingly dense jungle, under the dense rain of bullets, could not play a role in blocking bullets at all. The bushes and vines were crushed, and the trees were only thick and thin, and soon the smell of plant sap emanated from all around us.
After looking down for a moment, John led us to the left and to the west. And these guerrillas outside apparently knew that they would crawl on the ground after being shot, and they adjusted the angle of their shot. The bullets were all quickly hitting the ground around us. Thankfully, the bullets left us with not casualties, but sludge and the remains of various plants.
As we struggled to crawl on the ground, the guerrillas quickly let us know that they had a way to deal with us, for Walker noticed that there were people in our direction. It is clear that the guerrillas came with the intention of continuing to surround us.
Fortunately, however, at this moment, the shooting of the guerrillas outside began to appear intermittent and disjointed. After all, they had to change their magazines, and each person's firing speed was different, and slowly their shots became less neat, and the direction was not as consistent as before.
John looked at the situation and said, "Everyone is moving closer to me." We rushed out. ”
Little Bill and I sped up with John to the left of Walker. Now the whole procession headed towards the west of those who surrounded us.
"Dozens of people are expected. Armed with an M16 assault rifle. They are spaced about three to five meters apart from each other. Walker reported after a quick observation.
John took a quick look at the terrain on the opposite side and whispered, "Advance from the front." Walker is responsible for sniping off the people on both sides. The hostages remained with Walker. ”
"Understood." We replied one after another, and changed the magazines one after another.
"Action!" John gave the order, only to see Walker pull the trigger twice in a row. At the same time that Walker reported that two targets had been killed. John took me, Bill Jr., and the beggar to their feet, and moved forward quickly.
I was on the far left side of the line, so naturally I was in charge of the left side of the front, as well as the enemies on the left flank. I stood up and saw that these people were clearly illuminated by the northern light, and at this moment they were a little panicked because two of them were being sniped in a row, and by the time they saw the three of us, it was too late.
The man directly in front of me ran to the right with a gun in hand. I pulled the trigger and the man fell. At the same time that the man fell to the ground, I saw a man in the middle being shot dead by Bill Jr. I quickly turned the muzzle of my gun to my left, where another man had already raised his gun. But before he could pull the trigger, my bullet was already on him.
"Left side safe." I said after quickly turning the muzzle of my gun to observe.
After John and Bill Jr. fired a few more shots, all the men who had come to intercept us fell to the ground. And didn't wait for us to catch our breath. The group that was strafing us from the back noticed the movement and quickly came this way.
"Walker. Take the hostages and go to the hill over there. Fast! John pointed to a dark figure about thirty meters above the ground.
We quickly headed north again, and by this time the figures of those men had already appeared in our sight in the light.
"Cover shot!" John roared under his breath.
I fell to my knees on one leg and kept pulling the trigger at the figure I could see or where there was obvious movement. The other party's bullets also came quickly, and at this moment the beggar in charge of our right flank said: "Right! Pay attention to the three o'clock direction on the right! ”
As soon as he finished speaking, gunshots rang out on the right, in the direction we were rushing from. Bullets whizzed past us.
Soon we were unable to cope with attacks from both sides. John asked me to go to the beggar's aid. I got up and walked over to the beggar's side, and the lights on the other side began to dim and consciously turned towards us. I could see a number of figures in the jungle swaying towards us.
The beggar and I shot as hard as we could, but it only slowed them down a little, and we couldn't stop them.
"Change the magazine!" The beggar screamed.
With his shout, I immediately felt a lot of pressure, because at the moment I had to take care of not only the direction I was responsible for, but now I also have to take care of him. I almost shoot at one target and look at the other side to see if there is a target to shoot on.
Fortunately, a moment later, Walker's "I'm in place" came from his ears. "The sound and immediately opened fire gave us support.
"Gypsies, beggars! You two withdraw! John said in the communicator.
I shot as I stepped back. John quickly came to our side and took my place. "Cover us twenty meters away."
I answered, turned around and ran to change the magazine. At this moment, the roar of the car motor sounded again, as if it was coming towards us.
I was soon twenty meters away, and the little dirt bag was not far from me, where Walker was shooting at the pursuers.
Behind me were beggars. I said into the intercom, "John! Evacuate! With that, he pulled the trigger on the guerrillas.
Just as John and Bill Jr. were running towards us, the car, which was supposed to be a small pickup, came to a halt, and the heavy machine gun on the car opened fire.
"Lie down! Lie down! "I took two shots and shouted to John as I ducked to a big tree next to me.
The bullet hit the trunk of the big tree I was leaning on, and it was like someone was cutting down the tree with an axe. Fortunately, the machine gun stopped after a while, because he was sniped by Walker.
"I controlled the machine gun. Evacuate! Walker said.
The beggar and I immediately leaned out and shot at the guerrillas behind John and them to cover John. John and little Bill quickly got up from the ground and ran behind me. The moment they passed me, a bright light flashed through the trees opposite!
“RPG!” I screamed, but as soon as I finished speaking, the rocket hit the tree beside me.
I just felt that the world was spinning, and people fell out. But I didn't get dizzy, except for a little dizziness and tinnitus.
I looked ahead as I got up. At this moment, the lights that emitted bright light were extinguished, and I saw that these lights were set up on those pickups, and they were all searchlights. And the fighters of the guerrillas rushed over with shouts after the explosion of the rockets.
I immediately raised my gun and fired a few shots at the two flashing figures, and one of them fell. The other party's bullets quickly hit. I turned sideways to hide back in the tree, but I noticed that the tree had broken into two pieces and had fallen to the side. And not far from the trunk of the tree, the beggar lay still, with a broken trunk stuck in his body.
"!" I shot at the other side as I leaned over to the beggar. But I didn't have to take a few steps before one hand grabbed my backpack and pulled it back.
"Retreat. I'll take the beggars away! As he spoke, John took the beggar by the back of his collar and walked back.
I didn't do what John said, because at the moment the other side was getting closer and closer, and although we killed and wounded many of them, they continued to rush towards us like madmen, and if I had withdrawn, then the next one to be hit would have been John, then it would have been me.
"I'll cover you!" I said that and continued to shoot at the other person.
At this moment, I could already hear the footsteps of the other party running towards me. I pulled out my grenade and threw it at the place where the sound came from. The explosion was followed by the wails of the opposing personnel.
John didn't speak, he dragged the beggar back with difficulty. I took cover in front of them and slowly backed away. Soon little Bill came up to cover us. We soon reached the small dirt hill that was already not far away, and the guerrillas tried to attack, but after being sniped by Walker, two men were sniped out and quickly retreated.
