It turned out that there was a rule in the Lu State that anyone who went to other vassal states and saw a Lu person being sold into slavery in a foreign country should spend money to ransom him. After returning to the state of Lu, go to the treasury to report the account, and the court will reimburse you in full according to the expenses incurred by you in redeeming the slaves, and there will be a certain amount of rewards.

If a student of Confucius went to Qi to do business, he really saw that a Lu person was sold as a slave in the market of Qi, so he spent some silver taels to redeem the slave. Then he took this person back to the country of Lu.

At this time, he should go to the treasury to report the bills, get back the expenses and get a reward. However, if you want to, just spend that little money, otherwise others will know about it and say that you are doing it for that little reward. Just do it to the end and don't go to the account.
