Chapter 186: Gordon and Taylor
186, Gordon and Taylor
Barranquilla, port on the west bank of the Magdalena estuary.
A gentle breeze blows across the riverbank, a group of ragged stevedores carry the goods on the trucks to the dock, and on the container yard, several men in overalls look at the workers back and forth, their faces full of dissatisfaction and anger.
The Magdalena River passes through the heart of Barranquilla before flowing into the Caribbean, dividing the city into two distinct parts, with the upscale financial district on one side and full of luxury shops. On the other side is the ancient city left over from the Middle Ages, with stunning scenery. The morning sun falls on the river, and the light is golden. It was not yet seven o'clock, but someone was already hurrying to work with briefcases and umbrellas. The clouds in the sky are a little overcast, but they don't look like it's going to rain, but the locals of Barranquilla know more about the climate change.
A black Land Rover passes through the old Town Hall building, a building with lattice windows that now houses several elegant restaurants that Europeans and Americans love to hang out in. The Land Rover turned left on Market Street and walked through the narrow streets of the Old Town, and a few minutes later, the Land Rover appeared at the West Bank port.
The streets are lined with medieval stone buildings, some of which have been converted into residences. Building 184 is a historic stone house, a former town office, and now a private residence. The copper-shelled nameplate next to the front door has only one name engraved on it: Caravado Cargo Company.
Land Rover stopped in the port parking lot, and two men got out of the driver's seat and the passenger seat, the male walking in front was sturdy and well-proportioned, wearing a light gray thin suit, short gray hair, high eyebrow bones and deep-set eyes, the eyebrows were golden, and the gray eyes contrasted with each other, looking very cold and ruthless, and the lips under the high bridge of the nose were tightly pursed. The men walking behind were about the same height and size as the ones in front, just wearing dark suits, short blond hair, and golden glasses, and the two of them strode across the road in the same size, and at the container terminal behind them, the guys in overalls saw the backs of the two and walked back to their office as if frightened.
Before ringing the doorbell for Building 184, the blonde man looked ahead as if he were talking to himself, "Taylor, do you know what to say?" β
"Know! Battle-axe. β
The two of them are 'Tomahawk' Gordon and his cronies 'Locomotive' Taylor.
Taylor raised his hand and pressed the doorbell, and the two habitually stood on the left and right sides of the iron gate, taking care of each other's back. After 30 seconds, Taylor rang the doorbell again. This time, there was the sound of crackling electricity and the sound of people talking from inside the doorbell.
"Bull, you delay me to see the boss, you know the consequences."
Taylor's face was expressionless as he spoke, but there was a slight twitch in his right hand. Gordon knew that this was a sign that his men were about to get angry, so he quickly followed and said, "Stop playing, open the door." β
The heavy iron door slowly slid open on both sides, making a piercing grinding sound, leaving only the distance between the two attacking men and exiting side by side, and then stopped. The two of them walked into the courtyard together, and the iron door slowly closed behind them. Taylor noticed the figure of a young girl passing by the window on the second floor, and he understood that it was not the bodyguard Weijia codenamed "Bull" who was pretending to be a ghost, but the boss's precious daughter Gerry must have seen his arrival and specially instructed the bull to disgust herself.
Sure enough, they walked up the three steps and the bull who came out of the monitoring room stood next to the pillar, smiling wryly at Taylor and pointing upstairs with his right hand. Taylor nodded, indicating that he understood.
With Taylor's IQ, he naturally understands what the boss means - his daughter is when the girl is pregnant with spring, if he arranges a handsome and eloquent bodyguard by his daughter's side, then he doesn't know whether he is recruiting a son-in-law or looking for a bodyguard. It's fitting to use a bodyguard who is obedient to orders and has a daughter who is very annoying. In fact, Gordon and Taylor both know that the boss wants to fork, and if the bodyguard and the protected person don't like each other, it is really not conducive to the work of the bodyguard. Fortunately, Vaux's enemies don't seem to have any thoughts about his daughter.
Walk through the long hallway and into the antechamber. This was already the third layer of security for Vaux, and there were two more indifferent young men around him recently, one of whom was a tall, thin, telephone pole named Thor. Gerry tells Taylor that Saul is only 26 years old, but Taylor always thinks Saul is 40 years old, and he is strange that Saul still calls Vaux his father, and of course, Taylor knows how to put a seal on his mouth for some of the owner's privacy.
Thor stood on the marble floor of the antechamber and looked coldly at Taylor and Gordon. To the left of Thor is a carpeted staircase, the brass handrails that have been around for centuries and have long been shiny. Gordon didn't even look at Thor and took the lead up the steps to the second floor. He and Taylor knew that there was also a guy named Osway sitting on the couch in the living room, playing with a small pair of eyebrow scissors. Osway was picturesque, soft-spoken, but with his hands, Taylor would have struggled to deal with it.
Different from the glitz of other Vaux houses, the interior of this building still retains a long decoration, the layout of the second floor is simple and clean to the extreme, 6 rooms are distributed on both sides of the corridor, from the right hand side of the corridor exit, there is a thick gray carpet, the walls are also marble, several graceful and luxurious sconces like two rows of faithful guards lined up on the marble walls of the corridor. At the end of the hallway there was a room, with thick oak doors closed and brass handles dangling. On either side of the door stood a bodyguard and a servant in a white uniform.
The two of them stepped on the ridiculously thick carpet to the end of the room, and when they passed the second room on the right, the door opened for a split second, and Gurley grimaced at Taylor at the door and shrank back, quickly closing the door. Taylor continued to sprint indifferently, moving side by side with Gordon, and the bodyguard standing in the doorway reached out and grabbed the brass handle to pull the wooden door open, nodding to Gordon and Taylor, and the two smiled in return and walked inside.
These people are all newcomers, and the bodyguards at the door are the personal bodyguards of the candidates for the "deputy head of the anti-gang and anti-violence team", which is arranged by the Colombian Police Agency, and it is said that after waiting for the election results, a team will be arranged to protect the team leader and deputy team leader.
After all, the bigwigs in MedellΓn don't have a good impression of the head of this group. Of course, maybe for Vox, the exception.
After all, I am afraid that the only person who blatantly transports arms and drugs at the port is Vaux, the "deputy leader candidate".
Vaux sat on a large reception couch and looked down at a file, the light shining unusually brightly in the windowless room, not even half a shadow. The floor of the office is carpeted in the same color as the hallway, and the walls are framed with painted iron pictures of Vox and Gerry, including horseback riding, golfing, swimming, and a few chairs and coffee tables on the one side of the door, all of which are made of dark hardwood. On a desk as large as a pool table, there are two telephones and a fax machine, and a folded notebook in the corner of the desk.
Seeing Gordon and Taylor walk in, Vaux put down the papers in his hand. He was dressed very homely today, a set of purple pajamas and pajamas with gold patterns on him, with a photo in the office, like a gentle and dignified father. With his arms outstretched and a smile on his face, he strode toward Gordon and Taylor.
"Oh, Gordon. Oh, Taylor, look at you, how dejected, come, come, sit down. β
"Boss, I'm sorry, I missed." Taylor sat Gordon down, and he stood behind the couch with his head bowed, like a child who had done something wrong.
"Taylor, Taylor, how can I blame you for this?"
Vaux seemed in a great mood and waved his hand absently.
"In the face of absolute strength, all conspiracies and tricks are pushed over in a devastating way. So you don't have to mind, for those Chinese, playing conspiracy, you can't calculate them. β
"It was indeed my mistake, and I can't afford to take my own fault for any other reason." Taylor looked up at Vaux.
"Alright, Taylor, sit down and sit down. Nixon, damn it, if it weren't for him, everything you arranged would definitely send that Mo Lei to hell. I swear I'm going to get this Nixon back and help you get out of the way. β
Volkers gestured to the single couch beside him and motioned for Taylor to sit down. Then the door opened, and the maid walked in with a pot of coffee and two cups, and turned to leave after placing the tray on the coffee table.
"Thank you, boss, Nixon killed six of my men. The situation happened too quickly, and he was caught off guard. The point is, I didn't expect Nixon to come like this. Taylor sat facing Gordon and watched as Gordon picked up the coffee pot and filled both cups.
"Don't talk about Nixon, I'll arrange this matter. Gordon, did you find information about Victor? Come, have a cup of coffee first. Vaux raised his hand and motioned for the two of them to pick up their coffee.
"It's gone very completely." Gordon's expression flashed with a hint of sadness very appropriately, "It's impossible to count on the police, this kind of thing is really done with the heart to destroy the corpse, and it can be done seamlessly." β
"Is there anyone else in the house?" Vaux asked.
"A younger brother who lives with his mother, but has not been in touch with Victor for many years." Gordon replied.
"Understand, if they don't know anything, send them a sum of money in Victor's name." Vokes sighed, "I thought you could get that piece of land down as soon as possible, but I thought it was just that. β
"I follow my heart." Gordon spread his hands, "Kill him." β
"When a person dies, he can be buried at will, but he can't be found." Vaux smiled and said, "It's easy to find a living person?" Otherwise, if I take that land, it will make people laugh, right? You still don't know anything about this person. Victor disappeared into Mexico City, is that not enough to prove the facts? β
Gordon nodded, "If Victor is dead, then it must be Mo Lei's doing." Someone in Mexico City reported to us, but unfortunately we couldn't find anyone. Later, a gangster in the West District called us and asked about Mo Lei to get a bounty, but unfortunately the gangster also died that night. Then I tossed around in the hilly area of the West End for a few hours, and the next day I went to see the scene, and the traces, techniques, and style were all done by very professional people. Then it must be Mo Lei. And Nixon had been in contact with Mo Lei in the port of Γ land, so I assume that what happened in the town of Kalka last night, and Nixon's companion is also Mo Lei, which makes sense. β
"That is, Mo Lei is back, just near Kalka, Pereira, BogotΓ‘? Or escape to the Tataco Desert? The forces there are complex, and it is difficult for us to obtain information. Taylor added from the side.
"And there is a part of the Chinese community that has been involved with Charles, the sheriff of Pereira County, and two Chinese have already entered the Pereira police station, although they can't become fighters with weapons, but the problem is that they have the right to use weapons legally, so I think it's a quick start!" Gordon continued.
"You mean, take a machine gun and shoot it?" Vaux asked Gordon rhetorically, his eyes full of pity, "Peace, what I want now is peace, Gordon." Go ahead, find him, take him down, and when the election results come in, the rest will be done. β
Looking at Gordon's solemn expression, Vaux smiled again, "Mexico City already has the underworld chasing him, isn't there Colombia?" By the way, Gordon, don't you have a friend who is an agent of the Treasury Department? β
"I'll do it."
"Wait." Vokes stopped Gordon, "A friend told me that Pereira's Balwin had some plans that weren't very good for us, so why did we let his plan succeed?" Buzzing around like a fly, annoying to death. β
"It's already being done. I'll keep an eye on it. Gordon raised his hand and touched the frame.
"Great! Taylor, you go to the opposite port first, I heard that someone is making trouble? Make a note of who it is. Then go and take a break. I don't blame you for that, don't take it to heart. A few days off and continue to help me take care of Gerry? Is it done? Vaux said, reaching for the unfinished papers on the couch.
"Boss......."
Taylor was about to speak, but was interrupted by Gordon, "Okay boss." β
Volks no longer bothered them, and the two walked out side by side to start the company. The burly "bull" Vega saw Gordon walking down the steps, and greeted Gordon with a sad face.
"Gordon, when am I going to leave this hellish place?"
"Wait a minute." Gordon comforted the restless brother, who had no idea how long his brother would need to be guarded here. These guys like to sleep to the sound of gunshots, and it's a disaster to keep them here.
What's more, I'm a bunch of now. On the issue of the Volkers election, the superiors firmly opposed it and demanded sabotage, but I didn't know where to start with this kind of thing.
"Bull, I'll be coming, too." Taylor also frowned.
Oh, my God! It's time to face that little goblin again.
"It won't be long." Gordon walked towards the door, and Taylor nodded to the bull and quickly followed out the door.
"Boss."
"I know." Gordon walked in front with a steady pace, "Arrange people, find Mo Lei, after all, bullets don't have long eyes." β
