Biography of Wei Chengyu
Cheng Yu (yรน) (141-220), known as Zhongde, was a native of Dong'e, Dongjun County, Yanzhou (now Dong'a, Shandong), and was a strategist, minister, and general of Cao Wei from the late Eastern Han Dynasty to the Three Kingdoms period.
His real name is Cheng Li, and he changed his name to Cheng Yu because he was holding the sun in Mount Tai in his dream. He once led the people to fight against the Yellow Turbans in Dong'a.
In the third year of Chuping (192), he was conquered by Cao Cao as Shouzhang Ling, and since then he has made suggestions and conquered the Quartet.
When Cao Cao conquered Xuzhou, Cheng Yu and Xun Yu stayed in the rear, blocked the armies of Lu Bu and Chen Gong, and kept the three cities.
After Cao Cao moved Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty to Xudu, he appointed Cheng Yu as Shangshu, and later as the general of Dongzhong Lang, leading Jiyin Taishou and supervising Yanzhou affairs.
After pacifying Yuan Tan and Yuan Shang, he worshiped as General Fenwu and was named the Marquis of Anguo Pavilion. In the first year of the early Huang Dynasty (220), Cao Pi was proclaimed emperor of the Han Dynasty, worshiped Cheng Yu as the captain of the guard, and entered the Marquis of Anxiang.
Died in the same year at the age of 80, Cao Pi also shed tears for it, posthumously presented the general of the chariot cavalry, and said Su. Cheng Yu is resourceful and good at judging big things.
Rigid personality, with many people. During the Three Kingdoms period at the end of the Han Dynasty, only Cheng Yu, Cao Ren, and Yuan Lian were evaluated as Yongguan Benyu.
