Shi'an said: "It's okay, everyone is tired of walking." ”

After seven days of tiring travel, Si Ren had already complained, chattering along the way, shouting tired, and Alatai also felt that walking like this was not a long-term solution, but because of the world's peace and conditions, he did not say it clearly.

Stay in the hotel at night, this is a big room, there are just four beds in the room, the enthusiastic shop sent boiling water and tea, Shi'an made a cup of tea for each person, after the tea cooled, Ala Tai and Siren took the teacup and drank it all, but Luo Kong did not drink, took out a piece of cloth from his package, put the cloth in the empty pot, and asked the store to bring a pot of cold water and pour it into the pot, after the water was full, the four corners of the cloth were lifted, and the water in the cloth was slowly soaked into the pot. Luo Kong rinsed the cloth in water a few times, wrung it out and took it back, and then sent the pot full of cold water to the store, asking the store to boil it before bringing it to make tea.

Luo Kong's strange behavior puzzled Alatai, Siren, and Shi'an.

"Master, what are you doing here?" Siren asked.

Luo Kong focused on all this, did not notice the surprise of the three people, Si Ren asked, and then looked up, found that the three of them had strange eyes, and hurriedly explained: "The Buddhist scriptures say that there are 48,000 insects in a bowl of water, and drinking this water raw is no different from killing, so there is one of the 28 light precepts in the bodhisattva vows." I use a cloth to filter the water to filter out the possible insects so that they do not enter the pot, and then rinse them with water, wash the insects on the cloth back into the water, and send them back to their homes. ”

Luo Kong explained plainly, it seemed to be a family routine, but Alatai, Siren, and Shi'an were greatly shocked. Si Ren said: "Master, as you said, doesn't my Si Ren kill every day? Luo Kong said: "Amitabha, it's not just you, sentient beings have created boundless sinful karma but don't know it, sad, pitiful, and lamentable!" Si Ren originally complained and wanted to vomit, but now that Luo Kong is so compassionate, he is embarrassed to pour the bitter water in his stomach.

Luo Kong took out a copy of the "Dizang Bodhisattva Sutra" as usual and recited it lightly, the shopkeeper brought boiling water, Shi'an made a cup of tea for Luo Kong and put it on the table, and gently opened another "Buddha Says Three Worlds Cause and Effect Sutra" that Luo Kong put on the table, and also looked at it intently. Allah was so curious that he approached Luo Kong to hear what he was reading, but he only heard him recite:

Kindness accumulates goodness, vows to save all beings,

The gold tin in his hand vibrates open the gates of hell,

The pearl in the palm of your hand, the light of the world,

……

Alatai came to Shi'an's side again, and only heard Shi'an whisper:

All sentient beings realize themselves, and how can they see the Buddha to save all sentient beings.

Pure heart is pure land, and upright is Buddha.

Alatai whispered to Shi'an: "I only heard that the Buddha has saved all sentient beings, how can he say 'sentient beings realize themselves'?" If you are self-conscious, then what do you need a Buddha to do? Shi'an also didn't understand: "I don't understand, in Shaolin Temple for three years, I haven't read the scriptures, I only know how to practice martial arts all day long, I remember that Wang Shandao said, the young ** monk does not recite Buddhist scriptures, it is likely to go mad, the higher the martial arts, the stronger the demonic nature, the greater the harm to the world, now others call us the demon king, is it that we have already entered the devil?" ”

At this time, Luo Kong finished reciting the scriptures and picked up the teacup to drink tea, and Alatai took the opportunity to ask, "Master, can I ask you for advice?" "When he was in the hospital, Alatai tried to tease Luo Kong under the pretext of asking for advice, but this time he sincerely asked for advice. Luo Kong said happily: "You have the heart to ask for the Buddha, congratulations." ”

"The scripture says, 'All sentient beings read and realize themselves, how can they see the Buddha save sentient beings,' is not contradictory to 'Buddha sentient beings'?" Alatai asked, and Shi'an also waited intently for Luo Kong to explain.

Luo Kong said: "The so-called Buddha's love for sentient beings actually means that the Buddha teaches the Dharma to all sentient beings, and ignorant sentient beings follow the method left by the Buddha to do it, self-cultivation, self-realization, and self-control, as long as there is perseverance, so that there is no self, no one, no sentient beings, and no longevity, you can cut off your troubles and gain liberation." Therefore, although it is called Buddha, it is actually self-discipline. ”

After Luo Kong finished speaking, he said to himself again:

The human body is rare and has been obtained, and the Dharma has been heard of now.

This body is not for this life, but for when.

Luo Kong said: "Life is short, people in the world can't see clearly that everything is false, competing for fame and fortune, losing their true heart, not seeing Buddha nature, and in the end it is all empty." ”

Allah asked again: "Master, Elysium cannot be seen or touched, since life is short, why not be happy in time?" ”

"All the laws are empty, and happiness is not real. The so-called joy is not happy, the most happy is not happy, only by seeing through the red dust, finding the heart, can we get the joy of dislike, the joy of unhappiness, this is the real joy. ”

Allathai asked, "Then how can we become a Buddha?" ”

Luo Kong said: "Seeing ** in the air is not color, and seeing the air in the color becomes a Buddha!" ”

Allah didn't understand, and asked, "How do you see the emptiness?" Reciting scriptures often, can there be merit in worshipping the Bodhisattva diligently? ”

Luo Kong said: "If there is no Buddha in the heart, it is a Buddha, and it is difficult to become a Buddha if you seek a Buddha wholeheartedly!" ”

The scale of Baoyun Temple is not large, but it is a famous temple in Hengshui. After Luo Kong, Ala Tai, Si Ren and Shi'an visited all parts of the temple, they came to the Baoyun Pagoda with a height of more than ten zhang. Baoyun Pagoda is also known as "Optimus Prime", the Buddha statue is offered inside, it is noon after Luo Kong and others finish worshipping, and the four people leave Baoyun Temple to prepare to return to the city.

As soon as he left the temple gate, Si Ren shouted that he was hungry, and Luo Kong said: "Shi'an, I brought three steamed buns in my bag, take them for Si Ren to eat." "I don't eat it, I don't eat it, it's dry and hard, I'll go back to the city to eat." When Si Ren heard that he was going to give himself steamed buns to eat, he hurriedly waved his hand and pushed it away.

Shi'an had already found a steamed bun, and when he saw that Siren didn't want it, he handed it to Luo Kong, Luo Kong took it, and Shi'an took out another one and handed it to Ala Tai, who was also hungry, but after looking at the steamed buns, he lost his appetite again, shook his head, and Shi'an had to put the steamed buns back in his bag.

Coincidentally, Luo Kong had just finished eating steamed buns, and saw a ragged beggar woman on the side of the road, knocking on the door of a house weakly. Luo Kong hurriedly asked Shi'an to take the remaining two steamed buns, and walked to the old woman with the steamed buns, and the old woman saw Luo Kong send food, her eyes lit up, and she took the steamed buns and said thank you, while eating the steamed buns in a big gulp, and left happily.

Luo Kong squatted down and picked up a small piece of steamed bread, looked left and right on the ground, gently placed the steamed bread in the grass on the side of the road, and then continued to walk, sighing as he walked. Shi'an asked, "Why is the master lamenting?" Si Ren smiled and said to Alatai: "It's so strange that the master picks up the steamed bun and throws it away, isn't it a waste of effort!" ”

Luo Kong said as he walked: "I regret that I shouldn't have eaten that steamed bun, otherwise, I can give the old woman one more, this steamed bun is not urgently needed for me, but she is hungry and unbearable, and a steamed bun is precious to her." Luo Kong shook his head and blamed himself, then looked at Si Ren again, and said: "The old woman just now ate too quickly and dropped a small piece of steamed bread, I think it won't take long, there will be hundreds of ants gathering, but people come and go in the middle of the road, if a pedestrian accidentally steps on it, it will definitely kill and injure countless people, won't it create evil?" I put the steamed buns in the grass on the side of the road, so that the ants can enjoy the food without the danger of being trampled to death, and can also avoid pedestrians from making karma for no reason, how can it be a waste of energy? ”

The words of the living Buddha, the three demons are ashamed.

The four of them went all the way south, and successively visited the thousand-year-old temple Longxing Temple in Qinghe County, the Taoist Jade Palace, Liaocheng Huayan Temple, Puyang Huangjue Temple, Qingfeng Guanye Temple, Dongming Sage Temple, Changyuan Tongta Temple, Tianning Temple, etc., which were also invited to discuss Buddhist scriptures with monks in Qinghe Longxing Temple and Dongming Sage Temple, and opened the altar to preach the Dharma. After a two-month long journey, I finally came to the gate of Kaifeng Daxiangguo Temple.

Daxiangguo Temple is a famous temple, Luokong naturally can not be missed, Daxiangguo Temple abbot Jingxiu Master is also a Taoist monk, the name of the law is taken from the "Lotus Sutra of the Wonderful Law": "Pure practice of Sanskrit, always praised by the Buddhas." Master Jingxiu had already heard that Master Luokong, the living Buddha of the south, made an oath: "Worship the temple in the mountains, visit the Buddha in the temple, save people in distress, and save people according to fate." "Now Luokong came from the north, passing through Kaifeng, will come to the Great Xiangguo Temple to participate in Zen, so two months ago I instructed the monks in the temple, if there is a master Luokong into the temple to visit the Buddha, be sure to report quickly.

Luo Kong and the other four people came into the temple, Shi'an helped Luo Kong to ask for incense, incense, and accompanied Luo Kong to worship the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Arhats, while Ala Tai and Si Ren followed behind to see, touch there, and occasionally worship, looking curious.

The first Wuxiang master in the temple saw a monk, looked carefully, and saw that the person who came was full of energy and extraordinary bearing, so he stepped forward and asked: "Where did the master come from?" Is it Ho De? Luo Kong hurriedly replied: "Hengshan Luokong, passing by your temple, came to visit the Buddha." Wuxiang was overjoyed: "Sure enough, Master Jingxiu, the abbot of our temple, has been looking forward to the living Buddha coming to speak the Dharma." Wuxiang instructed the little monk to hurry up and inform the abbot, turned around and said, "The living Buddha invites tea in the back hall." Luo Kongjian said, so he took the three of them to the back hall with Wuxiang and sat down.

After a while, the abbot Jingxiu came, Luo Kong stood up and Jingxiu gave gifts to each other, Jingxiu said: "Master Luo Kong spread Buddhism in the south, not only his own cultivation of Buddhism, but also do not forget to transform the world's sentient beings, is really a model of Buddhism, Lao Gao in the Daxiangguo Temple for more than 30 years, has never been to the temple to preach to the lay people, compared with the master, it is really ashamed. ”

Luo Kong hurriedly said: "The abbot has won the award, and the poor monk is still very superficial in his understanding of Buddhism, how can he compare to the master?" ”

Jing Xiu said: "The master is modest, the current world is declining, the people are impetuous, and thieves are swarming. Kaifeng is the hinterland of the Central Plains, often harassed by thieves, and the people are plagued by many disasters. Lao Wei has long heard that there are Eastern Confucian Fang Qing, South Fo Luokong, Western Dao Wang Shan, and Northern Fa Cao Yin in today's China. As a person in Buddhism, the old man is very respectful of the master, two months ago, I heard that the master was rewarded by the emperor in the capital, and returned to Hengyang in the south, the old man has been looking forward to the master can come to the Great Xiangguo Temple to open the altar to preach the law, today I am fortunate to meet the master, I don't know if the master can fulfill the old man's wish? ”

Luo Kong felt uneasy when he heard Jingxiu praise himself like this, and hurriedly said: "Abbot Miao praise, let Luo Kong panic. Luo Kong's trip this time, the original intention is to discuss Buddhism with fellow Buddhists, popularize Buddhism, educate sentient beings, and benefit the people. ”

Pure cultivation is happy, busy calling the temple monks and class leaders, prisons, knowers, monks, mantles, etc. one by one to meet with Luo Kong, and teach the monks to prepare for the Dharma matters, and then invite Luo Kong four people to visit the temples of the Great Xiangguo Temple, in the evening, arrange for four people to live in the monk's room, all the necessary living items, so that the little monk has a complete set of send.

Si Ren touched the quilts, towels, wash basins, tea sets and other items sent by the little monk and said with a smile: "This Great Xiangguo Temple is really generous, unlike those temples that were small and childish before. ”

Ala Taidao: "I heard that the Great Xiangguo Temple is a royal temple, with thousands of fields, and there is no shortage of money to spend, of course, it is atmospheric." ”

Si Ren said: "We will stay here for a little longer. ”

Luo Kong listened to the conversation between the two and sighed: "It's also unfair to say, the royal monasteries have thousands of land, and the wealth is rich, which is better than the rural landlords, and those dilapidated small temples, the monks do not cover their bodies, they do not have enough food, and there is still injustice in Buddhism, not to mention the world!" ”

Si Ren said: "Master, in that case, why don't you stay in the Great Xiangguo Temple and go back to the poor temple of Hengshan to do something?" ”

Luo Kong smiled: "How can a monk covet things outside his body? I'm just lamenting the injustice of the world, not disgusted with the poverty of Hengshan Monastery. ”

This mind is not the bodhi of the mind

All phases are empty, and they are like coming

The pure cultivation was overjoyed, and the master of Wuxiang was full of praise, and the two immediately ordered someone to hang it up, and everyone in the audience was happy when they saw it.

As soon as the time came, the puja began, the abbot of pure cultivation invited Luo Kong to the altar, Luo Kong slowly stepped onto the stage, the Buddha was elegant, and the audience was solemn.

This time, the Great Xiangguo Temple arranged three lectures for Luo Kong, which lasted for three days, respectively explaining the "Great Buddha Peak Nyorai Secret Cause Cultivating the Righteous Bodhisattvas Ten Thousand Lines of the First Lengyan Sutra", "Lotus Sutra" and "Vajra Prajnaparamita Sutra". Luokong Buddha sound around the beam, loud and far-reaching:

All sentient beings come from no beginning, all kinds of things are reversed, and the karma is natural, like evil forks. Practitioners cannot attain supreme bodhi. and even don't become a sound, a sense of fate, and a foreign way, the heavenly demon king, and the demon dependents. They all practice in confusion because they don't know the two fundamentals......

Luo Kong spoke on the stage for two hours, according to the abbot's arrangement, after the lecture, everyone can ask the living Buddha for the Dharma, and Luo Kong will solve their doubts one by one. A young monk stood up and folded his palms, called Amitabha Buddha, and said respectfully: "Master, the scriptures say that the disciples of the Buddha have cultivated the outer path and even cultivated into demons, may I ask why?" Luo Kong replied: "Cultivating the outer path and the demon are both two causes, one is to mistake the conscious mind for the mind, and there is no beginning and no ignorance. The second is that although we know our own mind, we don't know how to develop it, and if we make mistakes in our cultivation methods, even if we work hard, it will never be possible to achieve positive results. ”

Another monk asked, "The scriptures say that even if you hear a lot, if you don't practice, you don't hear it." What does this mean? Luo Kong replied: "If you enter the Buddha's door, your heart does not enter the Tao, even if you ring the bell every day and recite the scriptures, the scriptures are recited backwards, and it is difficult to comprehend the true meaning of the Dharma, and there is no difference between not hearing the Dharma, so if the mind does not practice, reading the scriptures and not reading the scriptures are the same." ”

Another old monk asked: "When a person is in a dark room, it is dark when he opens his eyes, and it is also dark when he closes his eyes. If a person closes his eyes, it is dark when the lamp is lit, and it is also dark when the lamp is turned off. The lights were lit in the dark room, and when people opened their eyes again, they saw that the whole house was bright. May I ask the master, when sentient beings see the light, is it the light or the eyes are on? Luo Kong replied: "The lamp shines and shows color, and the eye sees color, and it is the eye that works instead of the lamp." The eye conveys color to the heart, and the heart receives it and is bright, and it is the heart and not the eye that work. Therefore, instead of the lamp being lit, not the eyes are bright, but the heart is lit. ”

"The eldest brother and the second brother, originally planned to protect the master after returning to Hengshan, and the three of us brothers conspired together in the south, but Shi'an has been following the master for several months, seeing and hearing about it, and being taught a lot, and is determined to escape into Buddhism and become monks, and I hope that the eldest brother and the second brother will understand."

Along the way, Alatai saw that Shi'an and Luo Kong were inseparable, and he was always worried that he would escape from the red dust, and he didn't want to be true today.

Si Ren was even more stunned, and only after half a sound did he understand. Si Ren touched Shi'an's forehead, confirmed that he was not talking nonsense in his illness, and said puzzledly: "You are really confused, such a good martial arts, you don't want to eat, drink and have fun on the rivers and lakes, but you want to be a monk?" ”

Ala Tai also persuaded: "Shi'an, if you are reluctant to stay away from the master, we can go to Hengyang City to work hard, and then we can go to the mountains to visit the master at any time." ”

Shi'an said to Si Ren: "What's the use of good martial arts? I came back from self-taught martial arts, and what martial arts brought me was of no other use than to kill people. He turned around and said to Ala Tai: "Walking on the rivers and lakes for many years, although I am not afraid of bad people, but I am always distressed in my heart, Master Luo Kong has no power to restrain the chicken, but there is no concern, there is no terror, the master is extraordinary, dedicated to redeeming the world, admirable, the younger brother wants to follow, and the eldest brother hopes that the eldest brother will be fulfilled." ”

After Shi'an finished speaking, he stood up and bowed to Alatai and Siren.

Alatai hurriedly helped him up, and said regretfully: "Shi'an, you and Siren are my best brothers, and my eldest brother really can't give up." ”

Shi'an said: "I hope that the eldest brother will not blame the younger brother for being ruthless." ”

At the beginning, there was a word at the foot of the Great Xing'an Mountains, if Shi'an wanted to find another way after arriving in the Central Plains, Ala Tai would never force him to stay, and Ala was too bad to break his word, so he had to say: "You have made up your mind, and it is useless for the eldest brother to say more, so I can only rely on you, and Si Ren and I will often come to see you in the future." ”

Alatay's voice was choked, his eyes were moist, and he couldn't stop. Si Ren was also reluctant to give up the third brother, and looked at Shi'an blankly, his heart aching.

Shi'an gave his remaining dozens of taels of gold to Ala Taidao: "These gold were given by Tang Hai's eldest brother a few years ago, I originally planned to use him for the rest of my life, but now it seems that I don't need it, so take it and use it for the eldest brother and second brother." ”

How was Ala Tai willing to accept it, and resolutely pushed the gold back, Shi'an said: "Since I have entered the empty door, when I am empty, how can I take refuge in the Buddha with gold and silver?" When Allah heard this, he had no choice but to accept it.

Early the next morning, Luo Kong and Shi'an were about to leave for Xuchang Kaiyuan Temple, before leaving, Luo Kong said to Ala Tai: "You, Si Ren and Shi An are all misguided people, but it is a pity that you and Si Ren have not woken up for a long time, and you will understand that I am true in the future." Today's farewell, we will go our separate ways, hoping that the two of you will change from evil to good, and you will not fight and kill again. If you believe my words today one day, I hope to come to Hengshan as soon as possible to return to the truth. ”

Ala Tai said: "Following the master for a few months, Ala Tai has benefited a lot, although Ala Tai is shallow and has no chance of Buddhism, but he must remember the master's teachings. ”

Luo Kong asked, "Where are you going?" ”

Alla thought for a moment and said, "I want to go to Chengde Ning City first, and then make calculations." ”

"Ning Cheng? The northern army is in chaos, and Ningcheng is the place where the Qing Dynasty and my Ming Dynasty compete for power, why do you go to Ningcheng? ”

"There is a ** temple in Ningcheng, I want to go and see it."

Luo Kong listened, nodded with a smile, a look of relief, and said, "You wait a while, I'll come when I go." Luo Kong returned to the monk's room and took out pen and ink, hurriedly wrote a letter and loaded it, and returned: "Since you are going to the ** temple, please hand over this letter to the Venerable Venerable Grace after you arrive, if you can't find him, you will open the letter." ”

Alla was too surprised, and was about to ask, but Luo Kong said again: "It's time for me and Shi'an to leave, you take care." Luo Kong handed over the letter to Alatai, and Shi'an took their luggage and walked away, and Alatai and Siren reluctantly looked at their backs until they were gone. Alatai complained: "I thought that our three brothers could be accompanied by life and death, but I never thought that we would disperse so soon, the world is impermanent, and it is true!" ”

Walking in the horse market, Ala Tai and Si Ren bought two fast horses, and went out of the city from the north gate with luggage on their backs, Si Ren said: "Big brother, now I don't follow the old monk anymore, we are at ease, when we go to the south to have a good time, why do we have to return to the north, do you still think about the tribute in the ** temple?" Seeing that Alatai didn't answer him, and just walked forward, Siren Zema caught up and asked, "What's the matter, big brother?" Ala Tai said: "A few days ago, I was playing in the Bao Gong Ancestral Hall, and I saw a couplet, which read, 'Knowing grace is virtue, and kindness is not repaying non-people.' 'I was killed in ** temple, it was an old monk in the temple who saved me, if the eldest brother forgot about it, wouldn't he become an inhuman beast? Brother, you and I went to the ** temple, and after thanking for the life-saving grace, wouldn't it be nice to wander the world without worry. Si Ren was overjoyed: "Okay, when we have had enough, we will go to Hengshan to find Shi'an for recreation, maybe he can't stand the rules and precepts at that time, and he wants to go down the mountain with us again." Ala Tai also smiled: "Yes, let's go to Hengshan, bring a girl who looks like a fairy, and see that he is tempted, haha." ”

Ala Tai and Si Ren talked and laughed all the way, walked for more than a month, and came to Ningcheng around the capital. When Ala Tai and Siren arrived at the front of the ** temple, they saw that the monks in the temple had set up a cauldron at the door, and were giving alms to the beggars in the past, and a long row of ragged and skinny people, holding empty bowls in their hands, lined up in a long line, anxiously waiting for alms. Si Ren said: "It's strange, what is delicious about gruel, why are so many people queuing up to beg for it?" ”

As he was talking, he suddenly heard someone shouting, "Brother Siren!" Si Ren looked at the crowd and exclaimed, "How Junjie? Siren dismounted and came to Duo Junjie's side, and Duo Junjie happened to receive a bowl of gruel and followed Siren and Alatai to a remote place. Siren asked, "Why did you leave Hulunbuir?" Duo Junjie said: "Big brother doesn't know, after you leave, the Manchus of Dajin Kingdom want to fight with the Han people, and they will arrest people everywhere in our Mongolian steppe as soldiers, and the tribal leader said that I can feed the horses and recommend me to the Manchus, they forcibly escorted me to the outside of Jinzhou City, and then took advantage of the melee between the Manchus and the Han people, I rode the best horse and ran to Ningcheng to join my aunt." Alas, I don't want to be robbed by the sergeants here, the people are hungry and cold, today I heard that the ** temple gave gruel, I specially came from thirty miles away to get it. ”

Seeing that Duo Junjie was pitiful, Si Ren took out a piece of silver and gave it to him and said, "Brother, take it back." ”

Duo Junjie thanked him and was about to leave, when Si Ren shouted again: "Brother, how is Si Qin?" When Duo Junjie heard this, he immediately showed a sad look on his face and said, "Big brother, sister Siqin, she is dead." Si Ren was furious, grabbed Duo Junjie and glared angrily, and asked, "What did you say?" Duo Junjie cried and said: "Half a year ago, Sister Siqin was raped and killed by Baoyin's brute. ”

At the mention of Baoyin, Si Ren understood, and slowly let go of Duo Junjie with both hands, and stood still in a daze.
