Interlude: Broken Heart (3)
In the Bermuda Sea, a ship is moving at a constant speed.
"I knew you were coming. Thomas walked over to Val, who was standing at the bow of the ship, "Your eyes told me at the time that you longed to fulfill the regrets in your heart. â
"I ask you, Thomas. Val turned to Thomas and said, "When did you betray the BPRD?"
"I think it was almost five years ago. "I saw something very interesting, and then I was directed somewhere, and then it was like this." â
"How does it feel to be a traitor?" asked Val.
"I didn't feel anything. Thomas shrugged his shoulders indifferently, "Because I'm doing what I think is right and don't need to pay attention to what other people think, that's why I don't feel anything." â
"That's right. Val understood what Thomas was saying, "It seems that I, too, will be a traitor like you." â
"When you know everything, you'll naturally change your current opinion. Thomas said lightly, "It may subvert your previous perceptions, but that is the truth of the world." â
"We've reached our destination. Thomas's walkie-talkie on his chest rang, "Now you can let him down." â
"I see. Thomas hung up the intercom, "We're here, Val, it's time for you to meet them." â
"But there's nothing here. Val looked around in bewilderment, but there was nothing but the sea.
"It's not on the sea. Thomas laughed, "Didn't you hear what the walkie-talkie said just now?
"Go down?" Val instantly understood what Thomas meant, "do you mean to let me jump from here?
"Don't you know when you're gone?" said Thomas, raising an eyebrow, "and since you've made up your mind to give up everything, you shouldn't have any fear even in the face of such a death-threatening event." â
"Of course I'm not afraid. Val looked at Thomas and walked to the deck, "It's just death, and I'm a hundred times more painful than death!
As soon as Vaal finished speaking, he jumped into the sea, and he didn't make any swimming moves, just letting his body fall quickly to the bottom of the sea.
"Sure enough, a fearless man. Thomas looked at the place where Val fell into the water and complimented, "In that case, you have proved your determination, and you will be there as a matter of course." â
Val, who was constantly falling in the sea, soon felt the pain of suffocation, his limbs twitched violently, and his consciousness quickly blurred, but just when he thought he was about to drown, a blinding red light instantly engulfed his entire body.
"Ahem!ahem!" Vaal coughed violently, even with a body like him that the Witcher couldn't hold up for long in that environment, he was just a little bit close to drowning in the sea.
"This is here?" Val straightened up, glancing around, only to see countless red rocks and red dirt beneath his feet.
"Welcome, welcome. A thin man walked up to him, "Val Bayano, I've been waiting here for a long time." â
"This voice, are you the shadow?" Val recognized the man's voice at once.
"Yes, that's me. The man nodded and said, "You came as promised, I have to entertain any inconsiderate places, and I ask for your forgiveness." â
"Almost drowned me. Val wiped the water from his face, "Your hospitality is really unbearable, but can you please answer my question first?"
"Say it, please. â
"Where the hell is this place?" Val's gaze didn't leave the man in front of him for a moment.
"This is the gap between hell and reality, the Canyon of Demons. The man replied without any disguise, "Yes, it can be said that it is part of hell, and that is the answer to your question." â
"So the next question, who are you? If this is hell, are you a demon?"
"I'm not. The man spread his hands and looked innocent, "As a demon hunter, can't you feel it?" â
"You're right, you're not a demon. Val lowered his guard slightly, "But you haven't told me who you are?"
"I'm just some guy who has been forgotten in the corner of history. The man smiled, "I don't have a name, I'm just a poor forgotten man, that's all." â
"Is that a nobody?" Val knew that the nameless man in front of him just didn't want to tell the truth, but his name wasn't the point now.
"Then it's time to get down to business. Val's tone became serious, "You said you could bring my wife and daughter back, what are you going to do?"
"It's very easy to do. The Nameless Man said, "You just need to retrieve their souls and remake their bodies to bring them back to life." â
"Ridiculous!" Val interrupted him bluntly, "retrieving the souls of the dead, even I know is against the rules of the world, do you think I'll believe this nonsense?"
"Whose rules?" said the nameless man with a smile, "is it God's rule? or Satan's rule? You don't really think that the two of them can make the rules, do you?" â
"What do you mean by that?" Val asked, frowning, "as if there was something else that could change the rules of the world." â
"There are people who can do it. The Nameless Man suddenly whispered something to Val, and the expression on Val's face changed from shock to sudden realization, leaving only complete calm.
"I told you everything. The Nameless Man looked at Val and said, "Now you should already know the false truth of this world, and who are behind us, right?" â
"And what's the plan?" asked Val.
"We want to create a new order of the world. The nameless man replied, "Destroy the world of the old order once and for all, so that everything I have just told you can be completely solved, and at last we will have a new world of eternal peace and tranquility." â
"What will happen to humans?" Vaal asked his most important question.
"Humans, of course they have to survive as creatures that exist in this world. We will completely eradicate the bad roots of humanity, remove the violence from the world, and then we can also bring back your wife and daughter. Wouldn't it be nice for them to live in such a peaceful world?"
Val thought of the demented smiles of Aika and Fromson, that was the inferiority of human beings, and that he was not trying to protect humans with original sin as they are now. That's right, he wants to create a new world with them, and the humans in that world are what he wants to protect.
"I'm willing to join you. Val resolutely said, "Even if I will be spurned as a traitor by others, I want to complete the new world you talked about, this is my decision!"
"Then you're welcome to join in. The Nameless Man was glad to have joined Vaal, "I assure you that your wish will come true, and a wonderful new world is destined to come!"
Yes, this old world doesn't matter anymore, what I want is a new world that will always be peaceful, for that world I will do whatever it takes to move forward, Janie, LÊa, for you to come back, even if I give up my own life!
From that day on, Val, who had learned the truth of this world, became a traitor, and he was involved in almost all major events.
The eve of Shore's team leaving for Hagrid.
"Go and revise this information. Val re-handed the information back to Thomas, "It's better to let that guy die there, because he's a threat to us!"
"I understand. Thomas nodded approvingly, "Then leave the task of revising the intelligence to me, and I must not let Shore return safely from Hagrid." â
X. Squad is about to go to the Vatican Basilica for the evening.
"I'll be there as an intelligence gatherer. Thomas said to Val over the phone, "Shore will be here tomorrow, the Nameless Man is already waiting for him there, and he will definitely be able to die there!"
"That young man's life is really hard, he actually survived last time. What if he misses this time?" Val said, frowning, "In that case, you won't be able to hide your identity as a traitor, and you should be ready for what to do last." â
"I will plant the seeds of doubt in his heart. Thomas smiled fearlessly, "I'll tell him about Kane's resurrection, and I'm going to let him know something about the future, don't you think that's good?"
"You're not afraid of death at all. â
"My death is a necessary sacrifice for the sake of the new world. "Val, if you live to that time, remember to come to my tombstone and tell me what the new world looks like." â
"I will, Thomas. Val knew that Thomas had made up his mind to die, "So be it, I'll do the rest." â
On the eve of the start of the war.
"The war is about to begin. The Nameless Man met in a hidden location, Yovar, "The opportunity we've been waiting for has finally arrived. â
"Is that the final step?" Val said, looking delighted, "It's finally here, so we're one step closer." â
"That thing should be okay in the database?" the nameless man asked, "make sure it's safe, it's a matter of success or failure." â
"With me here, you can rest assured. Val replied, "When the time comes, I will take that thing to you, and then everything will be settled!"
"Then wait for my contact. The nameless man nodded and said, "You are indeed the most reassuring, and we will see you after the war." â
"See you after the war. Val watched the figure of the Nameless Man disappear into the night, and his heart beat just as violently, for what he had always dreamed of was finally coming true.
In this way, Val hatches one conspiracy after another, and although he is ostensibly the head of the defense of the BPRD, he is secretly already a persistent traitor, and he is only fighting to achieve his ideal world.
It should be said that Val's heart was broken when the "Andes" exploded, and now he is just an undead spirit with this broken heart chasing the painful memories of the past, just waiting for the fateful day to come.
