Chapter 90: Clues
"Bloris brought the news that the Azor had stored all the captured weapons in the armory of Lionheart. If Nightfall hadn't been discovered by Doim to be an artifact, it should have been there. Oeve said to Friedley, who was looking at the diary.
"Oh.." Friedlier leaned against the head of the bed, and he asked Oeve a little leisurely, "And when do we plan to get it back?" ā
O'Eve looked at the diary in Friedley's hand and said, "At the right time." ā
"When is the right time?" Friedlier asked.
"When you stop hiding secrets and tell me the truth about the contents of your diary." Oeve thought for a moment and said.
"The 5th year of the dragon's heart, the month of seals, the nineteenth day, the southwest gale." Friedlier looked at the diary in his hand and translated it to Oive, in his non-fluent Lanty, "Ten days after leaving an unknown island far from the Snowcrow Island, we were hit by a gale. The gale blew us further northeast. That's exactly where I'm looking. ā
Oiv sat down beside Friedrear.
Friedlier continued to read the diary in his hand and said, "In the 5th year of the dragon's heart, the month of seals, the twenty-third day, sunny. The yogurt in the ship was gone, and I hated Baslier so much, he was so good at drinking. I still like Hutlier to tell me jokes. ā
"That's what you're going to tell me?" Oeve said as she looked at Friedlier.
Friedreer shrugged his shoulders and continued, "Year 5 of Dragonheart, Seal Month, Twenty-fifth Day, Great Fog. The weather was terrible, the soldiers were frozen, and there was a thick fog on the sea, and we went further north, but no one could say exactly where it was. But I have a hunch that this place is very close to that. ā
"And then?" Oeve asked.
"In the 5th year of the dragon's heart, the month of seals, the twenty-eighth day, there was heavy snow and unusually cold. We have reached a snow-covered coast, and tomorrow I plan to explore it with warriors...."
At this point, Oeve noticed that Friedlier had suddenly stopped talking, and his eyes widened as he looked straight at his diary.
"What do you see?" Oiff immediately asked Friedrear.
Friedlier sat up straight, his eyes scanning the contents of his journal at great speed. From his movements, Oeve could easily tell that he must have discovered some important information.
"Tell me quickly." Oeve said to Friedlier with some anxiety, "What do you see?" ā
"Wait a minute." Friedlier stared intently at the journal.
Seeing this, Oeve also leaned towards him, but the diary was full of dense Featon characters, and she did not recognize any of them.
Friedleer looked at it for a while, then suddenly opened his mouth again, his eyes widened at Oive, and he said to her, "Teverly said in his diary that what he was looking for was where the seven stars swirled. ā
"Where is that?" Oeve immediately asked Friedley.
"I don't know yet." Friedlier said as he continued to look at the diary.
"Then he said the thing he was looking for was the Philosopher's Stone?" Oiff then asked.
Friedlear looked down at the journal, and after a few quick pages, he said, "He didn't say exactly in the diary, but I have the feeling that the thing he said was the Philosopher's Stone." ā
"The Philosopher's Stone, where the seven stars revolve, is that the clue to the Philosopher's Stone?" Oive's eyes widened, and she asked excitedly and in amazement, "How did he describe that thing?" Did he finally find that thing? ā
Friedlear looked back at the diary carefully, and after a few quick pages before he spoke, "No, it seems that he didn't find the thing he was looking for on this trip." ā
"Didn't he find it?" Surprised and delighted, Oiff asked, "Did he record in his diary exactly where he went?" ā
Friedlier flipped through the diary for a while, and then said to Oive, "He didn't elaborate on that. But from his descriptions of the sea conditions along the way, I judged that the place he had crossed on this voyage must have been in the Far North Glory Ocean, northeast of Phetton. ā
"The Arctic Ocean?" Oeve looked at Friedlier in surprise and asked him, "Do you know where it is?" ā
"Yes, I know." "The Arctic Ocean is the icy sea north of the northern islands of Featon, but it's so large that I can't tell which coast Toevery is going to. ā
"The range is huge.." Oeve thought for a moment and then said, "Friedley, read the rest of the diary and see where he ends up." ā
Friedlier quickly read the last part of the diary, and then said, "Most of the rest is an account of how to get supplies on the way back. ā
"Returned... Are you sure he didn't find what he was looking for? Oeve asked Friedrear.
After looking back at his diary, Friedreel nodded and said, "I'm sure." ā
After receiving an affirmative reply from Friedley, Oiff muttered thoughtfully, "The One-Eyed Master tried to find it but couldn't find it. The Philosopher's Stone.... Where the seven stars revolve around .... Seven stars revolve around... It's the North Star... Did he go to the north under the North Star to find the Philosopher's Stone..."
"Miss O'Eve, your inference is the same as that of old Tofly." Fridlier laughed and said, "He also thought that the place where the seven stars revolved was in the North Earth under the North Star, so he went to the Arctic Ocean." ā
"That's what he thinks too?" "So, where the seven stars revolve, it should be a clue to find the location of the Philosopher's Stone." That's what the One-Eyed Master is looking for, right? ā
"Perhaps." Friedlier turned to Oive, "Do you want to follow this clue as well?" ā
"Of course, since this clue was written by the One-Eyed Master, it is very credible. And this clue is too important to me, of course I have to follow this clue to find it. Oiff said with a little excitement.
"But you also know that even Old Tofly couldn't find the Philosopher's Stone, do you think you can?" Friedlier asked, looking at Oive.
"How do you know if you don't try it?" Oeve smiled and said, "Thank you, Friedrear, for providing me with such an important clue. Before, we had even ignored this diary. ā
"You're welcome." Friedlier said, "Good luck finding the Philosopher's Stone. ā
"What do you mean by that," asked Oive, tilting her head at Friedlier, "won't you help me find the Philosopher's Stone?" ā
"Iā" Looking at Oive's warm eyes, Friedlier hesitated for a moment and said, "I... Didn't you just help you translate the Phaedon text and provide clues? ā
"That was before, but now we're a bunch." Oeve looked at Friedlier and said, "Are you going to leave me?" ā
"It's a bunch," Friedlier smiled awkwardly, and after hesitating for a moment looking into Oive's affectionate eyes, he asked, "Well, I'll help you, but where are you going to find that Philosopher's Stone?" ā
Oeve thought for a moment and said, "North, the Northland, I don't think the direction the One-Eyed Master is looking for, I should go there first." ā
Friedlier laughed and said, "Okay, but we'll have to have a boat to get there." ā
"What kind of ship? Is it OK to have a double galley? Oeve asked.
"No, no, no, that's too big, we need a boat that isn't very big, but at the same time it's durable and easy to handle. Ships like Featon's warships, with shallow drafts to wash up the shallows, and short hulls that facilitate access to narrow inland waterways, will greatly expand the search range of the ship. "I think it would be better for that ship to be a Pheton ship made of dragon perch." ā
"I don't know much about ships and navigation." "But we have a lot of dragon perches when you talk about them. Maybe those dragon perches are enough to build a ship. ā
Friedlier remembered the dragon perches he had seen in front of the cave earlier, and he asked curiously, "What are you going to do with the dragon perches you have hoarded in the cave?" ā
"Use it to burn."
"What?" Friedlier looked at Oiff in surprise and said, "Precious dragon perch, you use it to burn?" ā
Oeve nodded and said, "Yes, the flame produced by burning the dragon perch is very stable and the burning time is also very long-lasting, which is very conducive to the continuous and stable heating of some substances. ā
Friedlier was surprised and asked, "Can you tell me who you bought those woods from?" Is it Luga Dosea too? ā
"No, these were sold to Randy by permission from your king." O'Eve said.
"Little Tofly, this guy." After muttering in Fedonian language, Friedlier turned to Oeve and asked, "Who did you buy from Randy?" ā
Oeve hesitated for a moment, then said, "At my father's. ā
"Your father?" Friedlier asked her curiously, "Who is your father?" ā
"You may have heard of him." "Lord of Pisces, Duke of Ortestis. ā
Friedreer was dumbfounded, of course he had heard of Duke Ottistis, who was Randy's strongest lord, not to mention one of them. He didn't expect that these days, it was the daughter of Otistis, Grand Duke of Randy, who had been with him day and night.
"I haven't heard of it." Friedlier said to Oive, "The name sounds strange, he doesn't seem to be well-known. ā
"Haven't you heard of it?" Oeve looked at Friedreel with some surprise.
"Maybe it's because I grew up on the island, and the news there is relatively closed." Friedlier said.
"Oh.." Oeve nodded.
"Since your father is a lord, he must have many skilled craftsmen under his command. If you're using dragon perch to build a ship that can sail to the Northlands, you can ask him for help. Friedlier said.
Oeve thought for a moment and said, "You know, he is leading his army to the east. As for shipbuilding, I think it would be better for Bruulis to ask Garland's rebels for help. ā
"Well, whatever. However, the eldest lady of the lord's family, should we get my weapon back before we build a ship? Friedlier said to Oive.
Oiv nodded and said, "I'll go find Brulis, Abhiti, and Nezgoda right away." Together, we discuss a plan to infiltrate the Lionheart Armory and retrieve Nightfall. ā
"Okay." Friedlier reached out and made a gesture of please.
After Oeve turned to go out, Friedlier opened his diary and smiled.
"Friedlier, Miss O'Eve told you to come with you to the Vault." Brulis's voice soon came from outside the door.
"Okay, I'll be right there." After putting away his diary and getting dressed, Friedlier reflexively got out of bed and went out the door.
When he came to the round door of the house in front of the grotto, he saw that Oeve and Nezgoda were waiting for him.
"Are we going to go there for an action meeting?" Friedlier asked Oive.
Oeve shook her head slightly, "Abhikius is experimenting inside. We'll wait for him here. ā
"What is he doing?" Friedreel asked, curiously looking at the crack in the door.
Brullis spoke to Friedlier, "Remember the yellow smoke we sent out the last time we rescued you in the arena?" ā
Friedleer tilted his head and said, "Of course, I was crying. ā
Oeve was stunned for a moment, then smiled and said to Friedrie, "You mean you're in tears, aren't you?"
"Doesn't that mean that?" Friedlier said.
"Pretty much." Oiff smiled and said, "Your Randy is really good at learning the language. ā
"Thanks for the compliment." Friedlier turned to Brullis and asked, "Abhikius what he did in there, that smoke experiment, right?" ā
"Yes, he's improving that smoke pack. He wanted to make it more portable. Instead of needing to find a lot of Garland Resistance people to help us get into the arena like we did before. Bruulis said.
"You guys carried it in?" "But I felt a bang, and smoke came out of my feet. ā
"There was a smoke pack thrown behind you." "When the cigarette pack bursts, a lot of smoke is released. ā
"Oh." Friedlier nodded, "This thing is interesting, and it might be useful for skirmishes." Can you teach me how it's made? ā
Bruulis turned to look at O'Eve, then said to Friedlier, "These recipes are our organization's secrets, and I can't tell you until I have the permission of the Operations Team Leader, Miss O'Eve." ā
Friedlier looked at Oive, then sighed, "Okay. ā
Oiff was stunned for a moment, and then she opened her mouth and asked Friedlier, "Friedrear, what do you mean by sighing?" Are you acquiescing that I won't allow Bruulis to tell you the recipe for tear gas? ā
"Of course not." "I just think you're going to come up with a complicated formula, and I'm sure I can't remember it." ā
Oeve smiled and said, "Tear gas smoke is also called Ma Bo smoke, it is very simple to make, and it does not involve much alchemy. It is made from the fine spores inside the Marbose fungus, and then added some sulfur powder and alchemical waste. ā
Before Friedlier could speak again, the round door slowly opened, and Abhiti stepped out with a small paper bag in his hand.
"It was really hard, but I made a few of them." Abhiqi said to everyone with a smile.
"Abhiti, how much can you cover with this little packet?" Nezgoda asked as he looked at the paper bag in Abhiki's hand.
"It's about the same size as the original two large bales." Abhiti said.
"Well done, Abhiki." "I think we'll be using it soon." ā
"Miss O'Eve, are we going to do something new?" Abhiti asked.
"Yes, let's go and help Friedreel get his weapon back to Lionheart, the artifact called Nightfall." O'Eve said.
