Foreword – Self-evaluation
Hello friends, from today onwards, I will use humorous language to show you a different Zhu Yuanzhang.
Before reading this book, I would like to state that I am not a professor or scholar specializing in the study of history, nor am I an organization specializing in the study of the Ming Dynasty, I am just a flat-headed ordinary person who loves history, likes ancient figures, and prefers to ridicule and laugh.
Personally, I especially hate the old-fashioned language of many historical writers, and every time I read that kind of article, I always feel sleepy when I read it, and I want to fall asleep when I read it again, and then I throw the book aside and never turn it over again. Personally, I think there can be another way to write history, a very light-hearted and funny way of writing it. History itself also has a lot of fun, and many stories in history can make us smile at the tense and boring work and life.
Before I talk about this period of history, I would like to give it a relatively appropriate evaluation from my personal point of view.
I evaluate Zhu Yuanzhang as: reckless and heroic.
The evaluation of these four words is just my personal opinion on him, if you feel that you disagree, you can leave a message to me in the "discussion forum", and we will discuss it together.
In terms of ratings, it is calculated based on an evaluation standard of 10 out of 10.
I give him an 8.
I think this score is appropriate and reasonable for him.
Here I want to mention another person for comparison, many experts and scholars will also compare his deeds with Zhu Yuanzhang.
He was the founding emperor of the Western Han Dynasty: Han Gaozu, Liu Bang.
Since it is a comparison, then I will also give Liu Bang a score in my heart, and I will give him a score of 7.
I think Liu Bang's deeds are far less tortuous than Zhu Yuanzhang's, and not as wonderful as Zhu Yuanzhang, I don't mean to belittle Liu Bang here, I hope you don't misunderstand
The gap between the two is mainly manifested in the following aspects.
First: his origin!
Zhu Yuanzhang is a real grassroots emperor, he is an absolute self-made, and his step-by-step experiences and setbacks are far more thrilling than Liu Bang.
Although Liu Bang also claims to be self-made, those who know Liu Bang's experience know that Liu Bang had served as an official of the Qin Dynasty before the rebellion, although he was only a pavilion chief in Surabaya and an official of sesame mung beans, but at least he was also an official, and the court also had a resume. From this aspect, Liu Bang should understand some officialdom routines and rules.
From this point of comparison, Zhu Yuanzhang can't compare, because Zhu Yuanzhang has been herding sheep for the landlord since he was a child, and later he was so depressed that he asked for food and became a monk, and his biggest dream in life is just to marry a wife and give a cub, and when the cub grows up, he will herd sheep for the small landlord, as long as he can eat enough to find a job, in order to sleep well, he will not hesitate to make people suspicious, as for being the emperor, he has nothing to do with him.
Second: the rules of officialdom!
Zhu Yuanzhang, a monk who became a monk halfway, finally ascended to the palace, as a person who did not understand political rules at all, let alone officialdom routines, but he was able to manage the country in an orderly manner, and the laws and regulations of a country were almost perfect. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Liu Bang had no intention of reformulating the law at all, he just copied the laws of the Qin Dynasty and used them, without the slightest logical change or substantive innovation.
Third, the courage and courage to kill the heroes!
After Liu Bang established the Han Dynasty, he did kill some heroes of the founding of the country, but compared with Zhu Yuanzhang's number of killers and killing intensity, tens of thousands of people were implicated at every turn, and the killing intensity of the ten tribes (everyone can see clearly, it is the ten tribes, not the nine tribes), Liu Bang is afraid that he does not have the courage. But Zhu Yuanzhang has it, this grassroots emperor has it, he has the courage and even more courage.
In the eyes of the old man Zhu Yuanzhang, there is no one who cannot be killed, and there is no official who cannot be slaughtered. He was still smiling in the last second, and in the blink of an eye, he could make tens of thousands of horses fall to the ground, and the killing and weighing were all up to him to decide, this approach Liu Bang was far from comparable.
Of course, after Zhu Yuanzhang ascended the throne, he did make a lot of wrong decisions, such as he personally created the "Four Major Cases of the Early Ming Dynasty" in the early years of the Ming Dynasty, and millions of unjust souls died under his knife, and he also single-handedly founded Jinyiwei, and then his son set up the notorious two factories (East Factory and West Factory) in Jinyiwei, and the number of people who died under these three units was hundreds of thousands. On a humanitarian level, there was something wrong with him.
But I think that understanding history is not just about humanity, in the eyes of politicians, the most important thing is often their own interests, in the face of interests, any person and everything that is in the way of obtaining benefits can be killed, from this point of view, Zhu Yuanzhang is understandable to do this.
From the perspective of killing heroes, Zhu Yuanzhang is not an absolute mistake in doing this.
In the early years of the founding of the Ming Dynasty, almost all the generals under Zhu Yuanzhang could be regarded as the founding heroes, and any of them were not executioners with great achievements, and which one was not arrogant, bloody, and able to lead the living Yama king.
However, the battlefield and officialdom have always been two completely different systems in nature, with two different sets of rules of the game.
For a country that has gradually stabilized and has formed a basic framework and structure, the brutal war has passed, and for a country with many holes, the most important and urgent thing now is to organize the people to resume production. However, for the military ministers, they have long developed an arrogant character on the battlefield, and they are simply not able to manage the country, let alone the recovery and production of labor, and their presence will only cause a lot of chaos, and even form parties for personal gain, and finally raise troops to rebel.
It depends on military officials to fight the world, and it still depends on civil officials to govern the world.
From this aspect, it is inevitable that Zhu Yuanzhang will kill them.
The purpose of his doing this is not only to restore and develop the country that has been abandoned for a long time as quickly as possible, and to prevent the emergence of a series of critical national security crises such as forming parties for personal gain and colluding to commit fraud, but also to lay a solid political foundation and a healthy political environment for his descendants of the Zhu family, and more importantly, to satisfy Zhu Yuanzhang's huge political ambitions, so that the Ming Dynasty regime ruled by him and his children and grandchildren under the huge family system of the Zhu family can be passed down from generation to generation and for thousands of years.
Under this kind of psychological effect, which can be said to be far-sighted and somewhat whimsical, Zhu Yuanzhang wantonly killed heroes and wantonly killed officials, although he took the initiative, but he also had his helplessness.
It is also because of this consideration that my original relatively low rating of him has gradually increased.
After troubled times, we must use heavy canons.
This sentence may be more appropriate for him.
Okay, without further ado, let's all join hands and get to know this great man anew.
Zhu Yuanzhang.
