Chapter Eighty-Eight: Xiang Yuan is very close
In 1368 A.D. (the first year of Hongwu), Zhu Yuanzhang ascended the throne as emperor in Yingtian.
Country name: Daming.
Age: 40 years old.
After Zhu Yuanzhang ascended the throne and became emperor, he first did a big thing.
It is a major matter related to the fundamental importance of the country.
On the fourth day of January 1368, Zhu Biao, the eldest son of the emperor, was appointed as the crown prince.
Several other princes are kings.
They are the second son of the emperor Zhu Fan as the king of Qin, the third son of the emperor Zhu Li as the king of Jin, and the fourth son of the emperor Zhu Di as the king of Yan (Ming Chengzu).
I won't list the rest of the sons one by one, anyway, all Zhu Yuanzhang's sons are all princes.
As for the women, needless to say, they are all princesses.
Here I need to point out that Zhu Yuanzhang's way of establishing a prince is different from the way all previous regimes established a prince. In the past, those regimes established the prince, and basically waited for the old emperor to die, and only put this matter on the agenda when he was about to hang up and basically burp and ascend to heaven.
Zhu Yuanzhang is a special case.
He did not proceed in this way, and on the day he ascended the throne, he identified his future heir and focused on the training of the crown prince.
This person is the eldest son of the emperor: Zhu Biao.
While other princes were cultivated intermittently.
It's a bit like a mother-in-law and step-mother-like feeling.
Anyway, for Zhu Biao, who is the eldest son of the emperor, everything is treated preferentially, and everything is enjoyed.
The other princes are all behind.
Whoever makes you born late, you deserve to be unlucky.
Your brother and I jumped out of my mother's womb early, I am the boss, all of you who are little brothers should stand aside for me, don't make trouble.
Otherwise, clean up your girl!
Maybe in that kind of environment at that time, it was feasible for Zhu Yuanzhang, or it may be his last resort.
But also because of his move, it caused a huge annoyance to the stability of his later regime, and also because of his move, tens of thousands of lives were implicated, and tens of thousands of families were destroyed.
They can't escape, and they can't hide!
On a deeper level, the reason for all this is because of one person.
This person is Zhu Yuanzhang.
If it weren't for his premature establishment of the reserve and the lack of many uncertainties, these tens of thousands of people would not have died as a result.
It all comes down to Zhu Yuanzhang.
We'll talk about this experience later, so I won't talk about it here.
After determining the prince, Zhu Yuanzhang began to divide his heroes according to the five different ranks of the title "Duke and Uncle".
In the third year of Hongwu, Zhu Yuanzhang began the first division since the founding of the People's Republic of China.
The first to be divided was the duke.
There are a total of six people who have obtained the highest title of duke, they are: Xu Da, Duke of Wei, Chang Yuchun, Duke of Zheng, Li Wenzhong, Duke of Cao, Feng Sheng, Duke of Song, Deng Yu, Duke of Wei, and Li Shanchang, Duke of Korea.
Let's get to know these people carefully.
In addition to Xu Da and Chang Yuchun, several others are also famous.
Here I need to emphasize that in the record of "History of the Ming Dynasty", Li Shanchang's position should be ranked first, and Zhu Yuanzhang's ranking of Li Shanchang was also the first when he was divided.
Zhu Yuanzhang's evaluation of Li Shanchang is also quite high.
Zhu Yuanzhang commented on Li Shanchang as: The world's first hero!
The reason why I want to put Li Shanchang in the last place here is not to deliberately belittle him, but because he is the only civil servant among these six people, and there is a more important factor, Li Shanchang is Zhu Yuanzhang's hometown and the first group of people to rebel with him, and his joining is much earlier than Liu Ji, Song Lian and others who later joined the Zhu family's army, and his merits are much stronger than Liu Ji.
I think this is also the most fundamental reason why Li Shanchang was able to get a duke.
Personally, I think that if Li Shanchang is not Zhu Yuanzhang's hometown, no matter how great his credit is, he will never get the high title of duke.
Except for Li Shanchang, who was the only civil minister, the other five were all military ministers.
Judging from this form of separation, Zhu Yuanzhang himself definitely values martial arts and light literature.
He valued the military ministers far more than the civil ministers.
This also creates the difference in the subsequent division of other titles.
When many people read historical documents, they will see that Xu Da and Chang Yuchun are not dukes, but princes.
I also need to briefly note this.
The ancestral system of the Ming Dynasty stipulated that a living person with a different surname could only be crowned a duke, not a king.
No matter how great their merits and abilities are, they will never be able to climb to the position of king.
Even a person with a foreign surname like Li Wenzhong, who was given the surname Zhu by Zhu Yuanzhang, is also impossible to be crowned king.
Again, in the ancestral system of the Ming Dynasty, there was absolutely no living princes and kings with different surnames.
I want to be crowned as a prince with a different surname when I am alive, but there is no door.
Only when they die can they be crowned kings.
Among them, Xu Da was posthumously named the king of Zhongshan after his death, Chang Yuchun was posthumously named the king of Kaiping after his death, Li Wenzhong was posthumously named the king of Qiyang, and Deng Yu was named the king of Ninghe.
After dividing the duke, Zhu Yuanzhang divided the marquis, and there were a total of twenty-eight people who got the marquis.
They are: Tang He, Tang Shengzong, Lu Zhongheng, Zhou Dexing, Hua Yunlong, Gu Shi, Geng Bingwen, Chen De, Guo Xing, Wang Zhi, Zheng Yuchun, Fei Ju, Wu Liang, Wu Zhen, Zhao Yong, Liao Yongzhong, Yu Tongyuan, Hua Gao, Yang Jing, Kang Maocai, Zhu Liangzu, Fu Youde, Hu Mei, Han Zheng, Huang Bin, Cao Liangchen, Mei Sizu, Lu Ju.
You can take a brief look at these 28 people.
Of these twenty-eight people, none of them are civil ministers, all of them are military ministers.
This also one-sidedly proves Zhu Yuanzhang's idea of emphasizing martial arts over literature.
To put it bluntly, Zhu Yuanzhang's form of sub-envelope is completely based on merit in different forms of sub-envelope.
Except for Li Shanchang, Zhu Yuanzhang's fellow countryman, who is a special case, all these other people are based on their merits after joining the army, and the corresponding positions are not the same.
To put it mildly, whoever kills more people and who lays a large territory will get a higher title.
In addition to these twenty-eight people after getting the marquis's reward, the other two protagonists should also appear.
They are: sincerity Bo Liu Ji, loyal and diligent Bo Wang Guangyang.
When the Ming Dynasty divided the heroes for the first time, there were only two people who got the earl.
One of them is Liu Ji.
And both of them are Wenchen.
Many historians believe that Zhu Yuanzhang's division of Liu Ji is prejudiced, but I personally think that judging from Liu Ji's various performances, he can only get the title of earl.
Because in terms of family identity, Liu Ji and Zhu Yuanzhang are not fellow villagers, and they joined the gang relatively late.
That's a point.
Another point is that because Zhu Yuanzhang invited this god-like character Liu Ji and Liu Bowen three times at that time, for Zhu Yuanzhang, he was always a little embarrassed to face.
And the most important point.
That is, Liu Ji is a Wenchen, although he is engaged in strategic trading, but it is all bad moves, and he has never led troops to fight.
Liu Ji, who has always only been a mouthful, has never conducted actual exercises on the battlefield at all.
Although Liu Ji expressed many decisive and correct views on many strategic decisions, he could only get the marquis after just one Wenchen.
is still the same sentence, if Li Shanchang is not Zhu Yuanzhang's fellow countryman, no matter how much credit he has, he will become one of the earls like Liu Ji.
The Duke would not have his share at all.
With the completion of the title, in addition to getting different political statuses, Zhu Yuanzhang also distributed different economic treatment to them.
The crowd that has already reaped all the benefits must be happy.
And I think there is only one person who is the happiest.
This person is.
Zhu Yuanzhang.
Because as long as this group of people is settled, then his regime can be stable and benignly developed.
This brings us back to the point above.
There is another reason why Zhu Yuanzhang dared to divide Liu Ji, a figure who played a decisive and indelible role in his development, so low-end, that is, Liu Ji, as a civil servant, has no power in his hands.
There is not a little bit of military power!
For a literati who has no power to tie a chicken, he wants to be a singleton and a soldier who has nothing to do, Zhu Yuanzhang doesn't need to worry too much from the bottom of his heart.
And these other characters are different.
Because each of them has a certain number of soldiers and horses in their hands to a greater or lesser extent.
Influence in the army is also present.
If their group wants to rebel, at least a large part of their group will rebel.
Although Zhu Yuanzhang, as the boss, is nominally the emperor, he will still be restrained in the real dispatch of troops and horses.
After the separation, the nature is different, everyone has already reaped the ready-made benefits, hello, I am good, everyone's good situation, no one will be idle and have nothing to do in this situation of unity to rebel.
In addition to the duke and uncle, we will not list the two titles of the other sons and men.
Because all the people who have won these two titles are hanging.
None of the people who received these two titles lived to stand before the crowd.
All of them had already died heroically in previous battles.
So I'm not worth listing them one by one.
Of course, not enumerating them doesn't mean they don't contribute.
All of them have made indelible contributions to the great foundation of the Ming Dynasty, although they died, but all of them have worked hard, blood and lives in the great political foundation of the Ming Dynasty.
All of them deserve the admiration and admiration of future generations!
When the imperial power was determined to be divided, it was first of all a morale boost for the Ming army on the front line.
From now on, they are no longer the group of peasants and grass cowards who wear straw clothes and red scarves on their heads, like clowns jumping off the beam, nor are they a group of hooligans and scoundrels who run away as soon as they do, and they are not the group of cowards who used to be insulted by others and did not say a word, let alone dare to resist the bullying and slaughter of others.
Starting from today, we will be the real masters of this new country.
The days when there was no goal and didn't know where the road was in the past are now completely goodbye!
One word.
For the establishment of our new dynasty, kill these bastards of the Yuan Dynasty!
We are all united, and we are very close to Yuanda!
Yuan Dadu.
Our Ming army is coming.
Wait for death.
