On July 8, the army on the east bank broke through the Sanjiang Institute, killing and wounding more than 1,000 Qing troops, and then waved its troops to the north, and after a day and night of fierce fighting, on the morning of July 10, it broke through the fort fortress located on the left bank of the Cao'e River, killing and wounding more than 2,000 Qing troops, and at the same time blowing up all the coastal defense heavy artillery. Subsequently, the navy ships that had been waiting for a long time swarmed up and began the operation of clearing the wooden stakes of the estuary. For the next ten days, the army on the east coast has been operating in the territory of Huiji County (the northern coastal plain).
