Xu You
Xu Youzi is far away, a native of Nanyang. Originally a strategist under Yuan Shao's account, his family was arrested for breaking the law during the battle of Guandu, Xu Yu turned his back on Yuan and surrendered to Cao, and set up a plan for Cao Cao to attack Yuan Shao's army's grain nest, Yuan Shao was defeated in Guandu. Later, Xu Yu followed Cao Cao to pacify Jizhou, and repeatedly spoke wildly because of his own merits, and was finally killed by Xu Chu because he angered Cao Cao.
In 184, Xu You and Jizhou Assassin Wang Fen, Peiguo Zhou Jing and others joined up with Haojie to depose Emperor Ling of the Han Dynasty and establish the Marquis of Hefei, which finally ended in failure. Wang Fen committed suicide, and Xu You and others fled.
Take refuge in Yuan Shao
In 189, Yuan Shao escaped from Dong Zhuo and defected to Jizhou, where Xu You followed and became Yuan Shao's advisor, urging Yuan Shao to ally with Cao Cao.
Persuade the emperor to be offered
In 196, Emperor Xian of the Han Dynasty returned to the east, and Xu You persuaded Yuan Shao to welcome Emperor Xian, but Yuan Shao did not listen, and Xu You was deeply dissatisfied.
Defected to Cao Cao
In 200, Cao Cao and Yuan Shao began to fight, Xu You advised Yuan Shao to slow down the attack on Cao Cao, Yuan Shao thought he was strong, did not listen to the advice, Xu You was deeply disappointed. Xu You was greedy for money, his family broke the law, and was tried and treated, so Xu You defected to Cao Cao, provided important information, and suggested that Cao Cao send troops to Wuchao, and the result was a complete victory. After Yuan Shao's death, he offered a plan to flood Jizhou City by flooding the Zhanghe River, conquering the city, causing Yuan Shao's son Yuan Shang to flee in defeat and beheading. As soon as the city of Jizhou fell, Yuan Shao's foundation completely collapsed.
After the battle of Guandu, Xu You followed Cao Cao to pacify Jizhou and made meritorious contributions, but Xu You supported the army and respected himself, repeatedly despised Cao Cao, and called Cao Cao by his nickname. Once, Xu Yu went out of the east gate of Yecheng and said to the left and right: "This family can't enter this gate without me." Someone reported it to Cao Cao, so Xu Yu was taken into custody and eventually killed.
