"Do those two masters have studied the method of retribution?" Pan Long asked.
Master Huishan smiled: "Buddhism is said to be three schools, but in fact, everything is unchanged. In the past, the Buddha first attained the path through asceticism, and then sighed, "The way of asceticism is the way that ordinary people can do, and I want ordinary people to do it", so he settled under the Bodhi tree for seven days and seven nights, and created the path of wisdom. β
"Later, after the Buddha and the Dao Venerable discussed the Tao, he said, 'I thought that the way of the past was complete, but now I know that there are still shortcomings. The so-called avenue should not only be able to save oneself, but also be able to save others'...... and created the path of merit. β
Pan Long nodded, the origin of the three sects of Buddhism is a famous allusion, even if he has heard of it.

The legend of the origin of the three sects, in the ascetic school, was created by the Buddha according to the quality of the root nature of all beings. Those who practice asceticism are of the highest grade, those who practice wisdom are of the middle grade, and those who practice merit are of the lower grade.
In the wisdom school, it is the Buddha who entered the path with asceticism, but it is difficult to achieve the ascetic method, so he created the wisdom method; and then all sentient beings have roots that are too low, and they cannot cultivate and succeed in this life, so they can only ask for the next life, and after the Buddha sighs, he makes merit to encourage them.
This merit school of argument is another routine. It is said that the three factions are gradually advancing, and one faction is higher than the other.

Master Huishan didn't know what Pan Long was thinking, and said with a smile: "Although Lao Qu is a merit sect, he also has some understanding of the methods of the wisdom sect - or rather, after all, everyone is practicing Buddhism, and although the paths are different, they are fundamentally the same. It is also natural to practice the Dharma of wisdom on the path of merit. β

Master Huishan continued to smile: "Master Pan Shi, you are kind-hearted, you think you usually do things to help the world, right?"
"That's natural, and I've done a lot of things like today. β
"That's fine. Our merit school doesn't pay attention to chanting sutras, participating in meditation or keeping precepts and doing penanceβit's better to be willing to do it, but it's not reluctant to do it. The foundation of our faction is nothing more than four words. β
Master Huishan paused, smiled, and said word by word: "Good! people! good!"
"Be a good person and do more good deeds, and you will naturally accumulate merit. I'll teach you another convenient method, and when you need to use it, you can use merit to pull and activate this magical power. β
This is exactly the same situation as Pan Long guessed.
Pan Long thought for a moment and asked, "Then...... Are there any problems with that?"
"Question?" Master Huishan was slightly stunned, thought for a while, and said, "Attracting supernatural powers with merit will naturally consume some merit in the process. But consuming merit is not a bad thing, because merit does not disappear out of thin air, and the process of consuming it is actually refining the soul with merit, which can make people's soul strong, healthy and clear in the next life, and inherently superior. β
Master Ciming, who happened to come back from cleaning up the dishes and chopsticks, said with a smile: "This is like the world makes money, and uses it to eat, drink, live well, and naturally be healthy." It's the same thing. β
Pan Long couldn't help but laugh: "Most of the Buddhist monks I have met like to say some more profound words. It's the first time I've encountered something like the two masters said so bluntly. β
"Then most of the people you knew before were monks from the School of Wisdom. Master Ciming smiled, "Only they like to drop the book basket." We schools of merit have always liked to talk about good deeds and good rewards, but in this case, what is there to brag about? Don't look at me as a monk or a layman, your merits may not be inferior to mine. In the face of merit, everyone is equal. β
Pan Long smiled and noddedβhe agreed.
His role at the moment is a layman who only understands martial arts and does not understand spells, so it is natural to ask the most important question: "Two masters, I often hear the story of 'Immortal Buddha is immortal', but I have practiced martial arts so far, and I have some skills in asking myself, but I have only heard the story of Immortal Buddha, and I have never really seen the immortal immortal Buddha...... The two masters are virtuous monks, do you know if there is really a method of immortality in this world?"
The two masters glanced at each other, their expressions becoming serious.
There was silence in the hall for a while, and then Master Huishan said, "Monks don't speak, there is indeed a method of immortality in the world. β
Pan Long asked, "Can the master explain it to me in detail?"
"There are many methods of immortality in the world, and Lao Ke's practice is limited, and he only knows the means of immortality in my Buddhism. As far as I know, there are three types of Buddhist longevity, the first of which is enlightenment. If you create a new path to immortality through enlightenment, you will naturally become immortal. This is the first sacred of all laws, and if you cultivate this law, you can be called 'Buddha'. β
Pan Long nodded, this is the way of the Immortal Buddha.
The second type is enlightenment. The path of immortality created by the Buddha touched the bypass, and realized his own path to immortality. Although you are attached to the path of the Buddha, you can live forever. This is a great wisdom and great supernatural power, and if you cultivate it in this way, you can be called a 'bodhisattva'. β
Pan Long nodded, this is the unique method of "borrowing the way" in Buddhism. Other genres, after occupying the road, either transfer or occupy, there is no third option. Buddhism, on the other hand, will allow others to cultivate with the help of their own paths.
After the borrower cultivates for a long life, the Buddha who lends the path needs to cultivate his supernatural powers to control the realm of heaven and man. It is not until the other party imitates his own path and constructs an illusory path between truth and falsehood, which Buddhism calls supreme, that the path can be taken back.
If the path is withdrawn before that, the borrower will be knocked down from the realm of immortality to the extreme of heaven and man, and Shou Yuan will also return to the time when he became enlightened. If you can't find the path to immortality again, you will naturally die.
And if the borrower succeeds in constructing the "Supreme Prajna," then the path can be returned. Except that he can't continue to fight for a long time, he is no different from ordinary immortals.
Relying on this method, Buddhism has cultivated more than ten "bodhisattvas". If it weren't for the attack by Emperor Jiazi back then, all the borrowings were forcibly terminated, most of those Bodhisattvas would have died, and there would be even more Bodhisattvas in Buddhism.
But the biggest problem with the Bodhisattva Dharma is that it is not conducive to long-term warfare. In the same situation, it is weaker than the demon god. There are gains and losses.
"The third type, although they are not familiar with the method of immortality, but they overcome the limits of heaven and man with their own cultivation, and finally their bodies are as incorruptible as vajra, and their hearts are as transparent as glass, and they can survive millions of eons without falling. This is a great act of perseverance and great achievement, and if it is cultivated in this way, it can be called an 'Arhat'. β
Pan Long secretly said in his heart: "This is the path of the demon god. β
He asked, "Then I don't know what kind of immortality method the two masters cultivated?"
Master Huishan shook his head: "I am a meritorious monk, and I do not cultivate immortality." β
