Chapter Ninety-Three
Zhu Zhanji's academics are not enough, and his skills are to make up. The method he used was actually to attack his shield with his spear.
In this way, he can not only avoid the doubts of Confucian students, but also arouse their research and questioning of the composition of society as a whole.
Before they had studied this issue clearly, they would not dare to question Zhu Zhanji.
And it is very difficult for them to think about these things clearly, because this is the limitation of the times. If they really want to analyze it clearly, they will also question the academic monopoly of Confucianism, because in some respects, Confucianism has become a shackle to social development.
Only by questioning can we progress.
Of course, they won't find this now, they have all been shocked by the theory thrown out by Zhu Zhanji, and they feel that their insights in the past few decades are almost subverted.
Knowing that it is true and not knowing why it is, accepting the scholarship of the ancestors, not daring to question it, not being able to question it, this is a drawback under the Confucian idea of respecting teachers and valuing the Tao.
More than 1,000 years ago, Aristotle dared to say that I love my teacher, and I love the truth even more.
You say this in Huaxia and try it, and you will be famous as soon as possible.
However, it was only those workers who were pondering, and these young people in the young army did not have such complex thoughts. They have received military obedience education since childhood, and they have received practical skills training, which is too profound for them.
However, to be able to receive such a summary of new knowledge, their hearts can only be excited and think.
This topic is enough to talk about this, so Zhu Zhanji didn't wait for them to question it, and then moved on to the next topic.
"What is science? Non-Cheng Zhu Lixue. Cheng Zhu Lixue is only a branch of Confucianism, and the real Lixue is based on materialist thought, the study of reason, the study of reason. Its most representative knowledge is arithmetic. The Shang Dynasty had already used the decimal method and had the tools to draw circles and right angles.
In the late Spring and Autumn Period, there is a record of fractions in the Art of War, and in the Warring States Period, Xunzi. The multiplication of ninety-nine tables is recorded in books such as "Da Lu". The Book of Ink mentions the concepts of points, lines, planes, squares, gardens, and even limits and variables in geometry.
But these are only the scope of calculation, the real arithmetic, should be the science of combinatorial computing, I think it is more representative to call it mathematics. The most representative work of combinatorial mathematics is the Book of Changes, which was written in the Spring and Autumn Period. The I Ching is broad and profound, and its main idea is to contain the basis of combinatorial mathematical logic. ”
Again, this is a point that no one can argue. The six arts of Zhou Rites include etiquette, music, archery, royalty, calligraphy, and mathematics. The so-called Confucian Six Arts are nothing more than the appropriation of the Six Arts of Zhou Rites.
So now, they can't say that mathematics is not important, because the application of mathematics can be said to be wider than Confucianism. A farmer can be illiterate, but he must know how to count, otherwise it will be a problem to buy and sell things.
If it doesn't matter, then why does Confucianism integrate these into its own knowledge system?
At first, everyone didn't realize it, but now they realized Zhu Zhanji's slippery head. He is completely just digging pits and not burying them, and it is easy to ask questions, but it is difficult to solve them.
Moreover, he is only seventeen years old, and he is the grandson, so no one else can blame him for this. On the contrary, because of his status, they have to face up to these problems.
Now, they simply didn't interject, wanting to hear what Zhu Zhanji wanted to say in the end.
"As for geoscience and astronomy, they can be separated to some extent, but there are fundamental differences. The similarity is that both disciplines teach us to understand the world we live in, but astronomy is more focused on theory and the future, while geoscience is more on application and the present. Through astronomy, we know that spring, summer, autumn and winter, spring sowing and summer planting, autumn harvest and winter storage, through geoscience, we can make everything in the world available to people. Gold, silver, copper, iron, and tin, these are all gifts from this world to mankind, and even the clay that can be found everywhere can be burned into bricks and built tall houses.
However, the set of technologies we are applying now is still more than 1,000 years ago, why have these technologies not improved since their invention to the present, especially in the last 1,000 years? ”
Of course, these officials knew what the reason was, but none of them dared to answer it directly. At this time, everyone could vaguely guess what Zhu Zhanji wanted to express.
Although they are a little worried in their hearts, they are more excited, because an heir who values the work of the Ministry of Industry will give them direct attention.
Compared with this, the status of Confucian scholarship is not so important.
What's more, His Royal Highness Taisun did not deny Confucianism, but also agreed with Confucianism, he just paid more attention to the combination of theory and practice.
In terms of medicine, Zhu Zhanji doesn't know much about it, but in the past ten years, he has also deliberately paid attention to the road of medical development and knows the development of some applied technologies.
Zhu Zhanji took a sip of water before he said: "Two thousand years ago, during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, today's medical system was established according to the Five Elements Doctrine, "The Yellow Emperor's Neijing", "Bian Que's Neijing", "Bian Que's Waijing", Chang Sangjun's "Forbidden Prescription Book", "Fifty-two Prescriptions", "Foot and Arm Eleven Pulse Moxibustion Sutra" and "Yin and Yang Eleven Pulse Moxibustion Sutra" were also written during that period.
When I was a child, I listened to Master Xie talk about the Three Kingdoms, and I knew that during the Han Dynasty, Hua Tuo was already able to scrape bones and open his skull, but why is it that today, these medical skills have not only not been carried forward, but they have also been lost. Of course, there are reasons for the war, but more often than not, future generations are still complacent in these aspects. ”
Although medical skills can save people's lives, the complexity of Chinese medicine often requires a person to spend a lifetime in poverty before he can enter the threshold. Therefore, there are very few people who can put their energy into this.
This is more due to the lack of systematic decomposition, almost every TCM practitioner is a generalist, and needs to be able to take the pulse, know how to do internal medicine, know surgery, know pediatrics, know how to gynecology, and also be able to identify Chinese herbs and know how to boil medicine.
Moreover, because of the lack of channels for inheritance, everyone cherishes their own broom, which is also an important reason for hindering the spread of medical skills.
This is something that must be reformed, and such a reform will not touch the fundamental stability of society, which most people will agree with.
More importantly, the results of such reforms are easy to see. As long as we do not train generalists, but only specialists, the number of doctors can be greatly expanded in a short period of time.
The configuration of finished drugs can also greatly reduce the demand of doctors. For example, most of the prescriptions for trauma are the same, while the prescriptions for typhoid fever and colds are also similar.
When it came to the last concept, Zhu Zhanji stood up and saluted the ministers. The ministers did not dare to slack off, and they also stood up and returned the salute.
Song Li was about to open his mouth to ask what Zhu Zhanji meant, but saw him pick up the charcoal pen and write the two big characters "Gewu" on the whiteboard behind him.
Then he turned around and said, "I am not honoring people, but respecting people." No matter how old you are or how high your position is, you are all in the study of things and have your due contributions. Song Shangshu built water conservancy, and Wu Shangshu built a city and built a mausoleum, which are all feats that benefit the country and the people and benefit future generations. ”
Everyone was stunned, and they didn't understand why Zhu Zhanji suddenly raised Gewu to such a high position. At least in this era, people who do things are actually inferior to people who talk about it.
Take the current cabinet, the Hanlin Academy, for example, although their rank is still pitiful, but they are extremely noble, and everyone flocks to them.
The Ministry of Industry, a department related to the development of the country, has to do almost everything, but it can only rank last among the six ministries.
In later generations, although the Ministry of Industry became the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Commission of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense, the Ministry of Land and Resources, the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Railways, the Ministry of Communications, the Ministry of Information Industry, the Ministry of Water Resources, and the Ministry of Commerce, almost every department occupied an important position in the national development plan.
Zhu Zhanji continued: "From the knowledge of things, we will find a problem, that is, the idea of materialism has actually been determined as early as the Spring and Autumn Period. Gewu, this thing is all things. Cheng Yi of the Song Dynasty, on the basis of his predecessors, put forward the idea that he is still poor, things are still reasonable, and he is still poor and reasonable. Gewu is to exhaust the reason for things.
On the basis of Cheng Yi's thought, Zhu Xi put forward a systematic epistemology and its methods. He said that the knowledge is in me, the reason is in the object, and the difference between me and the thing is the distinction between the subject and the object, and he believes that the method of connecting the subject of knowledge and the object of knowledge is to know from things.
He believes that there are many ways to find things, from Wuji and Taiji, to tiny grass, trees, and insects. From Gewu to Zhizhi, there is a process from accumulation to sudden penetration. To penetrate, it must take effort, and everything must be exhausted, from near to far, from shallow to deep, from coarse to refined. Erudition, interrogation, prudence, and discernment are divided into four sections, entering and progressing layer by layer. Exhaustive reasoning must be exhausted, and the skin is the surface, and the profundity is the inside. People must go through such a process of understanding from the outside to the inside in order to achieve a deep understanding of reason. ”
During this period, it was the time when Zhu Cheng's science was shining, and their doctrine was deeply rooted in the hearts of the people.
Zhu Zhanji, who had received the education of later generations, could not accept Zhu Xi as a person, because the later tragedy of the entire Chinese history stemmed from the fact that the thought of science and science had completely moved towards hegemony in him.
Zhu Zhanji's remarks are also the essence of his entire thought, and they still have their significance. But that's all he has to offer.
This sparkle is magnified, deified, and then turned into a monopoly. The entire obedience to me prospered and those who rebelled against me perished, and from then on hundreds of years of ideological imprisonment and castration began.
It's like he created a framework in which anyone can only live, regardless of the fact that this framework can only accommodate a small group of people.
Even if the rest of the people cut off your arms and legs, they will have to stuff them in, or even take your life outright.
This is a process from Confucianism to Confucianism and then to Confucianism. Even if the cause is good and correct, in the end it all becomes crooked, and even the purpose is distorted.
