Chapter 16: 'Cults'
On the south side of the bus station yard, there is a former staff dormitory, and the infrastructure is still in good condition. Zach and Benjamin washed off the smell of rotting corpses before the police arrived, and watched the policemen cover their mouths and rush to this side with pale faces, and the two empathetically indicated the location of the toilet.
Corson and Zach have met twice, the first time, of course, from the cat's eye in room 202, and then buried by the Enchanting Pupil. The second time it was just someone close to Mr. Herman, and I didn't have any impression. Only now did he know Zack's name. Curson took the notebook and asked what had happened.
Zach said it simply. They were friends of Lola Barton and volunteered to help her clean up the bus stop. Then he found it inside the warehouse and missed someone fleeing the scene. Because there were a majority of teenagers and children here, they only showed the situation to the only male teacher, said they wanted to call the police, and then dispersed the teenagers and children, and stayed here for the police to arrive.
"Well, you made a wise decision. But I still have a question, why do you specify Lance when you call the police?"
"Mr. Herman has a high opinion of Detective Reims. Zach replied with the respect that a citizen should have for a police officer, "Oh, Connor Herman's funeral was held at our Grand House. ”
"Oh. Corson replied softly, raising an eyebrow in understanding. Of course, he wouldn't say thank you to this guy from Grande, even if he was already happy!
"Okay, that's it. Cousson waved at the brothers. From the visit to Wèn, he already knew that they did not see the faces of the escapees, and that he still needed to visit Wèn's high school boys who happened to be on the west side of the warehouse.
Although there was no need for James's existence, Curson did not know about their relationship, so he symbolically left Grande's contact information and let the two go.
Zach and Benjamin, like normal people, thanked the detectives, got back into their van, and drove to the Grande House.
Detective Corson couldn't hide the smile on his face as he watched the two leave, and he stood between the old-fashioned buses that had been cleaned by the students, and threw a punch into the air excitedly! It's been a week! The 'suicide case' he investigated has finally made progress!
Corson trotted into the main control room and headed straight for the warehouse, whistling with joy on his face at a group of police officers who were walking out in pain!
James was standing in front of the bus whose shell had been dismantled, and was slapped by his partner behind him, almost sinking into the pile of corpses!
"Hey, Lance, we're so lucky!" said Colson, in a loud voice, ignoring the eyes of the few policemen around him who were taking pictures and collecting evidence.
James steadied himself and recovered from his stunned state, his eyes still a little confused, "What did you say?"
"These!" Colson put his hands forward, "this is the place! the place where the suicide was hijacked! Look at these! What do you see!"
The confusion in James's eyes dissipated and became gloomy, and he really didn't understand what Curson was happy about. James spat out two words: "Corpses." ”
"Yes, corpses!many, many corpses!" Corson would have liked to stand in circles on the pile of corpses if he could! "Look here!"
Curson dragged James to the other side of the bus, where a sack was flattened and placed on the ground next to a pile of decomposing corpses in various poses. The cloth was marked with an unknown amount of blood, like a book from heaven. Next to the sack, a naked man was curled up with his legs hugged, lying on his side.
Unlike those corpses that had apparently been decomposing for some time, the man's body still retained the freshness of a new corpse.
Curson put on white rubber gloves, squatted down, pressed the man's shoulder, and with a little force, flipped the man's body to the front. Pulling away the hugging hands and feet, the corpse unfolded in the eyes of the police officers completely unreservedly.
"Look here!" Cousson's gloved fingers pressed directly on the left chest of the male corpse, and the neat scratches just formed an oblique cross-x, Cousson looked at James excitedly: "Do you know what this means?!"
Of course James knew what that meant, the vampires had said it, and the Windwinds had said it, but could he say it?
It's Papa's midnight pact!
If it goes along the way, the X-shaped wound will disappear, leaving only a mark on the heart! Then this guy will be resurrected like a 'miracle' and live in the crowd like an ordinary person! Only that he will be unusually lucky! At the end, he will be 'convinced' by the Tempest couple to stab himself twice in the heart! When his soul goes to hell, he will turn back into a corpse!
James, can you say that?!
So, at this time, James could only have a gloomy face, "What does it mean." ”
Corson raised his voice in satisfaction: "Cult! Don't you see? This is a cult!"
Please understand Detective Cosen's out-of-the-box thinking, and remember how Cousson reasoned about 'David'...... (Volume I, Chapter 23)
What made James really helpless was that the policemen in the warehouse all had expressions on their faces, 'So that's it's so'!
And we know that this Detective Curson really captured the essence of Papa's Midnight.
When Zach and Benjamin return to the Grande House, Lola is still with Alice. Neither knew what was going on, and the two girls used their imagination to comfort each other, as if they were frightening each other! The only thing Alice knew for sure was that no one would die, but like James, she couldn't say.
Both of them were relieved to see the two elder brothers of the Grande family return. Alice was fine, but Lola pestered Benjamin to ask what had happened before leaving.
In fact, Lola doesn't need to worry, maybe tomorrow, someone from the police department will collect evidence from the initiator of this event, but they will not reveal much details out of the protection of minors. Benjamin didn't want to put a burden on Lola, and refused her question, citing the Barton Police Department's request not to say more.
"Lola, some of the boys at the west door of the warehouse today, tell me their names. "Zach is not as gentle as Benjamin, and directly uses the Eyes of Enchantment.
After a brief moment, Lola uttered a few names.
Zach pouted, let's put it this way, Lola's social circle is very much in line with her 'Barton' surname, the only exception is probably 'Grande'.
In this regard, Zach doesn't have to worry about any danger to those boys, leave it to James, anyway, James will definitely pass on the news that the police have touched.
