Chapter 6: Admission Tickets?
Ferdinand knew that now that a cheap version of the car has come out, will the great development of the automobile industry be far away?
For the sake of future development, Ferdinand decided to split the Bulgarian Mechanical Works.
To be honest, the current Bulgarian mechanical plant is no longer big, from hardware accessories to steam turbine engines for battleships, everything is available!
More than 80% of the output value of Bulgaria's machinery manufacturing industry is contributed by machinery factories!
At present, the Bulgarian Machinery Factory or Group has 1.468 million employees, 186 large and small subsidiaries, and 756 processing and manufacturing plants of various types, all over the entire industrial system of Bulgaria!
Although Ferdinand also reorganized the machinery factory into a group company, it is still a little powerless to manage in the face of the increasingly large industry!
After all, so many blatantly complex industries alone are enough to dazzle, let alone manage?
There may be such all-round talents, but for Ferdinand, it is better not to look for them!
Countless examples in later generations told him that monopoly was conducive to promoting social development and saving resources at the beginning of social and economic development; However, in the later stage, the monopoly will become increasingly prominent due to the lack of competition, and the internal contradictions will become increasingly prominent, which will reduce the production efficiency!
"Born in sorrow and died in peace"!
This sentence is not only applicable to a country, but also to an enterprise, otherwise there will not be so many big enterprises in the future, and they will not be able to keep up with the development of the times in the later stage!
This is especially true in state-owned enterprises and monopolistic enterprises! Due to the lack of market competition and the lack of crisis awareness of the enterprise leadership, they will slowly degenerate and will only compete for power and profit, and do not want to forge ahead!
This was absolutely not allowed by Ferdinand, how could his own property be ruined by a group of moths?
Now Ferdinand has decided to split up, and according to his plan, the split Bulgarian Machinery Group will be transformed from one giant to six small giants!
After the split, the six small giants will carry out a clear strategic division of labor, each focusing on the development of one aspect, and will also get involved in other industries to compete with each other, promote the discovery of productivity, and accelerate industrial upgrading!
Among them, the little-known automobile company was also independent, and a separate group company was formed - the Bulgarian Volkswagen Group!
Since it is a group company, of course, there will not be only one automobile production plant, it also includes an engine production plant, and more than a dozen spare parts production plants, and an after-sales service company all over the major cities of Eastern Europe.
Of course, this is at this stage, and in the future, Ferdinand will gradually throw out all the spare parts factories with low profits, so as to reduce management costs!
Judging by the name, it is clear that Ferdinand is ready to promote civilian cars. However, this commoner refers to the middle class, as well as the newly rising military aristocrats, and ordinary people still can't afford it!
Even the cheapest car cannot be sold at less than 5,000 leva in the market, and the initial sale may be more than 8,000 leva!
This number, in theory, an ordinary worker can save without eating or drinking, and after five or six years of hard work!
But Ferdinand knew that this was not possible in practice, and that the Bulgarian workers were able to save 500 leva a year after removing their daily expenses, which was very rare!
And most of these people are skilled workers, or the backbone of the enterprise! After most people remove expenses, it is good to have a balance of two or three hundred leva, but this premise is that they must not get sick, otherwise they may still be in debt!
This was also a common problem faced by the working class all over the world at that time, and it was okay to be like Bulgaria!
Basically, large-scale factories, under the pressure of public opinion, are still equipped with medical personnel, and the basic minor problems can still be solved internally, otherwise the problem will be more serious!
Ferdinand knew very well that if he wanted to solve this problem, he would have to wait until the productivity had developed to a certain extent, and it would be possible!
Otherwise, at the level of industrial production at the beginning of the 20th century, it would not have been possible even if the Bulgarian capitalists were saints and did not take a share of profits!
Oh, according to Ferdinand's usual style, the problems that cannot be solved are put on hold for the time being, so the issue of universal health care has been shelved indefinitely by the Bulgarian government!
……
In 1908, good news for Bulgaria continued one after another, and just now Ferdinand received another piece of good news - the dreadnoughts built by Bulgaria themselves were launched on the slipway of the Dickif shipyard!
This is also thanks to the selfless dedication of the French!
The French, due to internal problems, were one step slower to react in this era of the naval battleship revolution, and the French giant artillery faction fell into disadvantage in the internal struggle!
However, the giant artillery ships in the French Navy were not reconciled to failure, and after receiving Bulgaria's request for help, they used the Bulgarian warship as a testing ground for their new technology!
They are trying to prove that their own ideas are correct through practical actions!
Therefore, the Bulgarian dreadnought can be regarded as the industrial crystallization of the Netherlands, France, and Bulgaria, so the manufacturing speed of this warship is a little faster than Ferdinand expected!
From 1907 when Ferdinand approved the construction of the warship, by April 1908 the shore part of the warship was completed.
On April 6, 1908, slipway No. 1 at the Dicksf shipyard was successfully launched, and at this rate, it was possible to complete it by the end of 1908 or the beginning of 1909!
When the time comes, Bulgaria will most likely become the second country in the world to have dreadnoughts after the British!
Oh, although it still can't change the weak status quo of the Bulgarian Navy, but it's still very good to use it to boost the morale of the people!
In the era of sea power, the influence of the navy was much greater than that of the army! Just like now Germany is the world's largest army power, and its economic strength has surpassed that of the United Kingdom, but everyone still thinks that the British are the world hegemon!
Similarly, Italy, as a rising star, is considered the sixth largest power in Europe because it has a good navy, even if their army scum is home!
On the contrary, Bulgaria is also a rising star, in terms of economic aggregate is moving closer to Italy, the field of heavy industry is even more than Italy, the army is also known as Prussia in the Balkans, but because the navy is too weak, it is considered a quasi-power!
Therefore, Ferdinand is willing to spend such a big price to build this dreadnought, in addition to militarily enhancing the strength of the navy and boosting the morale of the people, but more importantly, for political influence!
To put it simply, it's just to get a ticket to join the club of the Great Powers! In addition to the old powers, it is not easy for rising stars to get this ticket!
The Germans were defeated by the French and rose strongly; The Americans chose the Spaniards and got the ticket; The Japanese defeated the Manchus and then the Russians in the Far East before joining in!
Obviously, Bulgaria can't do any of this! Although they also defeated the Ottoman Empire, the Ottomans are no longer qualified as a stepping stone!
And the European continent has formed two major groups, which affect the whole body, in short, Ferdinand does not dare to touch it!
In addition to this direct and brutal method, the rest is Italy, which has also been fought, but unfortunately the results are not good, and then a strong navy was built, which was gradually accepted by the powers!
After careful consideration, Ferdinand decided to learn from the Italians, otherwise Bulgaria would not have wanted to join the club of the Great Powers before the First World War!
The problem of colonial partition is small, and the world is almost divided now anyway; But the question of the status in the Entente, this one is serious!
It's about the distribution of interests in Bulgaria in the future, the treatment of the great powers and the treatment of ordinary allies, that's two completely different concepts!
