Chapter Fifty-Seven: Neville
A week before Christmas, the holidays arrived, and Carl boarded the Hogwarts Express, along with Hermione, Jim Green, Diana Spring, and Neville.
A few of the people Carl knew had gone home for Christmas.
The crowd chatted along the way, and Neville listened intently as Jim talked about how he made the Hearthstone cards with his own hands, his eyes full of envy.
When they were almost at the station, they got rid of their wizarding robes and changed into ordinary clothes.
Finally, the train stopped at King's Cross Station, three-quarters of the way to the right of the Nine.
Getting off the bus, a chill was blowing in my face, and it was snowing lightly at the station, and a shriveled old guard stood guard at the ticket gate to let the little wizards pass one by one.
As soon as Carl came out of the wall, Nick and Louise greeted him.
"Oh dear, let's see!"
Louise gave him a hug as soon as she stepped on, and then looked him up and down.
"Honey, you're growing again!"
As she said, Carl has grown a lot taller in the past six months, and has already surpassed her eyebrows.
"But it's thinner. Louise said again, with distress on her face.
Before Carl could say anything, Nick was the first to retort: "Come on, dear, Carl didn't lose weight, I think he has grown a lot!"
As he spoke, he also pinched Karl's arm and said with a smile: "Look, they all have muscles." β
"What did you say?" Louise's face changed like an angry lioness and glared at her husband, "Have you ever cared for your son? Carl is obviously much thinner than when school started!"
Louise was so loud that she attracted the attention of many pedestrians in the station.
The smile on Nick's face froze, and he opened his mouth, as if he wanted to say something, but when he saw his wife's gaze, he wisely took back what he was about to say.
Instead, he pretended to look at Karl carefully, "If you look at it so closely, you have indeed lost weight." β
said, nodded solemnly, "That's right, it's thin!"
Louise glared at him, then let go of her husband, turned to Carl and said, "Honey, whatever you want to eat when you get home later, Mommy will make it for you." β
When she said this, the anger on Louise's face disappeared in an instant, and was replaced by a smile on her face.
Carl's face changed so quickly that Carl was amazed.
Carl said decisively: "As long as you do it, Louise, anything!"
"Oh, Carl!" Louise hugged him again, "You're Mommy's little angel!"
As he spoke, he kissed his face, which made him so embarrassed.
Even Nick couldn't stand it.
"Honey, you'd better pay attention to the occasion, Carl is no longer small-"
"What did you say?" Louise looked at her husband again, danger in her eyes.
"Ahem!"
Nick coughed and pretended not to say anything.
See you later.
Hermione only had time to lip-say goodbye to Carl before she was taken away by her parents.
It was Neville, and his grandmother actually pulled him straight to this side.
The old man was dressed in a green robe covered in moth-eaten fox skins, and his pointed hat was apparently decorated with a specimen of a vulture.
Even in the world of ordinary people, he still stubbornly chooses such a wizard's outfit.
"You're Carl, Neville told me about you many times in his letters. β
The old man stretched out a withered, eagle-clawed hand.
"Hello, Mrs. Longbottom. Karl said politely, shaking the old man's hand.
"You must be his parents. β
The old man said to Nick and Louise.
"Hello. Nick nodded politely at the old man, and Louise smiled at the old man.
It can be seen that the two have dealt with wizards a lot in the past six months, and they have become accustomed to Mrs. Longbottom's strange dress.
The old man seemed a little surprised by Nick and Louise's calmness, and then, as if remembering something, she said angrily to Neville, "Neville, how can I teach you, be polite to strangers, and say hello to Carl's parents soon." β
Neville nodded resignedly, and whispered to Nick and Louise, "Hello, Mr. Cooper, ma'am. β
"Hello, Neville. β
Nick smiled and nodded at Neville, and Louise touched Neville's head even more lovingly.
"Why are you the only one to pick you up, this childβ" Louise asked Mrs. Longbottom curiously.
Carl quickly pulled off Louise's shirt and interrupted her.
Louise understood what was right away, and said apologetically to Mrs. Longbottom, "Oh! I'm sorry, I didn't know they were ......."
Carleton was speechless, he had already told her to stop talking.
Mrs. Longbottom waved her hand, "They are not dead. β
After that, in front of the three of them, he directly told Neville's parents how they were tortured by Bellatrix Lestrange with the Diamond Heart Curse.
"Oh no!" Louise covered her mouth in shock, and Nick's eyes were full of disbelief.
Seeing the appearance of the two of them, Mrs. Longbottom said proudly, "They fought until the last moment, we should be proud of them, isn't Neville?"
By this time, Neville's round little face was already covered with tears, and he choked up and nodded.
Seeing this, Mrs. Longbottom sighed, and while bending down to help Neville wipe his tears, she reproached:
"Look at you, why are you crying again, you should laugh when you hear others talk about the glorious deeds of your parents!"
"You're too this child, ma'am!" said Louise dissatisfied.
"That's because you don't understand the meaning of the last name Longbottom!"
Helping Neville wipe away her tears, Mrs. Longbottom straightened up and said with her head held high.
"There's no breeding in the Longbottom family, Neville just needs some time!"
"Butβ" Louise was about to say more, but was interrupted by Mrs. Longbottom, and the old man seemed not to want to hear Louise anymore.
"It's time to go, Neville!"
With that, he grabbed Neville's arm and left with his head held high.
......
On the way home, the atmosphere in the car was a little dreary.
"That kid is so pathetic!" said Louise, with tears in her eyes.
As Nick drove the car, he said, "Carl, you should take care of him more at school." β
Carl nodded.
