Chapter 1 Welcome

Even though it's spring in the Mediterranean, it's hard to see much green near the Dachlacules Columns, with only huge rocks and cliffs jutting out of the sea. According to the legend of the Greeks, the god Hercules had twelve great deeds, the tenth of which was that when King Eurystheus sent him to capture the cattle of the giant Geryon, he erected two stone pillars on the Atlantic Ocean, which are the Dachracles Pillars.

This is the legend of the Greeks, and for the Carthaginians who once ruled the Mediterranean and still rule the westernmost part of the Mediterranean and west of the Pillar of Dakhlacules, their legend is not so. Moreover, the vast majority of Greeks have never been to the Dachlacules Pillars, and are only hearsay about the strait and the towering rocks.

According to the law of all people in Carthage, any Gentile who went to Sardinia (the two islands to the west of Italy) and the Pillar of Dachracles to do business was punished by drowning.

This was done, of course, to protect trade, and the African continent west of the Pillar of Dachlacules had gold, England had tin, and Iliba had silver, and these precious metals were as important as ivory and tiger skins from the interior of Africa, pearls from the East, purple dyes from Tyre, frankincense from Arabia, linen from Egypt, pottery and fine wine from Greece, copper from Cyprus, and iron from Elba (the western island of Italy), all of which were important commodities of the Carthaginian maritime trade network.

The monopoly on maritime trade had always been practiced and maintained by the Carthaginians, and even after losing the war with the Romans and the maritime supremacy of the western Mediterranean was vested in the Romans, the Carthaginians were still the masters of the Iberian Peninsula. However, the Carthaginians, located in the city-state of Timia Trion, not far west of the Pillar of Dachracles, suddenly found themselves faced with a problem that they had always encountered: the law of nations forbade Gentiles from the eastern Mediterranean to go to the Pillar of Dachlacules to do business or drown, and now they miraculously discovered that the Gentile sailing ship was sailing towards them from the depths of the Atlantic.

"That's a Greek merchant ship?" To the west of the Pillar of Dakhlacules was a chain of Carthaginian city-states, and the city of Timia Trion was just one of them. The Carthaginians on the dock were amazed to see a never-before-seen sailing ship coming from the deep sea.

"Neither Greeks nor Romans......" Merchants without land mirrors could only rely on eyesight - the sight of sailors. In the distance, the merchant ship in the distance was a small point, but it was rapidly growing in size, gradually turning into two ships that had never been seen before. "In the name of the god Baal Hamon, this must be the residence of the gods of the sea......"

The Carthaginians ruled the seas until the First Punic War, and their warships and merchant ships were still ahead of the Mediterranean. But now the two sailing boats at high speed were like they had never seen before. They have so many masts, so many of their sails, so many of their oarsmen......

"Oh my God! They didn't have a paddle hand...... "The sailboat got closer and closer, and the sailors were surprised to find that the oars were not visible from the sides of the two sailing ships. Without oars, there are no paddlers, but all ships in the Mediterranean world need paddlers.

"Stupid people! Immediately send a warship to invite them into port. "The actions of the merchants on the docks attracted the city guard of Timia Trion, Celanas, and although the law of all nations did not stipulate whether the Gentiles who came from the depths of the Atlantic to the Pillars of Hercules would also be drowned, he instinctively felt that the people or gods who could build such sailing ships must be honored.

They came from the deep sea, Phoenicians, Greeks, Egyptians, Persians...... The list goes on and on, and no one's ship has access to the deep sea, all of them can only sail along the coast. Sometimes they even take the seeds with them, plant them on the coast, harvest them, and set sail again.

The words of the city guard were orders, and several five-pulp warships slowly sailed out of the docks, and by this time the foreign galleons were already close at hand. The sailors on board were busy, adjusting their sails, and soon the sailboat came to a complete halt - abruptly on the surface of the sea in a way that the Carthaginians could not comprehend, and a small boat slowly lowered from the side of the ship.

Only then can the people on the quays of Timia Trion see the two sailboats. It had four masts (the Carthaginians also regarded the bow boom as a mast), the middle one being the tallest, about fifteen men high, and the mast was hung with sails painted with a strange bird. The whole ship was so high that there were no oar holes in sight, only a few holes in the very high freeboard, but they were clearly not oar holes.

The Gentile galleon was not very long, a typical Greek trichoon was thirty-seven meters long, but it looked very different from the galleys, with a higher side and a slanted nose instead of ramming. The most important thing is that you can see pieces of copper armor above the waterline, which are neatly nailed together and stretch below the waterline.

"Born in a row of five stars, the omniscient one, the king of the Chu Kingdom, the leader and protector of the Qi, Wei, Zhao and Baiyue states, the guardian of the easternmost Chinese states of the Central Continent, the friend of the Indian Empire, the Seleucid Empire, the Bactrian Kingdom, the Pandia Kingdom, the Chola Kingdom, and the Zola Kingdom, and the ruler of the four seas of the world, His Majesty Xiong Jing, orders his courtiers to sail from the sea to the Far West to the Pillar of Dachracles, and to visit the Carthaginian, the Roman, the Mediterranean, and the Greek states......"

The small boat laid down on the sailboat was soon rowed to the dock under the guidance of the warboat, and by this time Silanas had summoned soldiers and interpreters to wait quietly on the dock. With the combined efforts of several translators, Xiong Jing's lengthy title was stated from the mouth of a Persian.

Siranas was very confused at first. He didn't understand the specific meaning of the Five Stars Alliance, nor did he know what the Kingdom of Chu, Qi, and Wei were, and he hadn't heard of the Central Continent and Huaxia either, until he heard about India and Seleucus, he didn't realize it, and the other party also knew Carthage and Rome.

With knowledge of the known world, Silanath asked, in standard Greek, "Is your country east of India?" ”

"Yes. Huaxia is part of the continent of Middle-earth, India is in the south, and Huaxia is in the easternmost part. "Dealing with barbarians is a Yue warrior, dealing with the kingdom is a captain without a hook, and dealing with a city-state is a city order. After his words were paraphrased, he also asked, "Are you Carthaginian?" Is this the county of Carthage? ”

"Yes. Exactly. This is the city-state of Carthage, and I am the city guard of Siranas. Silanas, who had figured out the other party's origin, smiled slightly, and he bowed shallowly. The most oriental guests are welcome. ”
