Chapter 476: One Cause and One Effect

The two kept walking westward, gradually approaching the border pass.

In the evening, I happened to pass by a dilapidated temple, although it was dilapidated and there was no one in the temple, but it was always better to have a place to settle down for a night than to sleep in the open.

I walked into the temple with my bags on my back, and I don't know how long no one has been in this temple, there is a layer of dust on the ground, and there are a few cobwebs on the beams of the house, but there are no spiders in the webs, it may be that there has not been a living creature for a long time, and even spiders can't survive.

There is also a stone Buddha on the platform in the center of this ruined temple, with a broken hand and a few cracks on it.

Xuanzang walked into the temple and saw the stone Buddha on the platform bowing and saluting. Gu Nan didn't salute, Xuanzang gave her a Dharma name, but she was not a disciple of Buddhism.

Picked up a broom that had not been used by anyone for an unknown amount of time leaning against the door, briefly swept the dust off the ground, and then took out two pieces of cloth from his bag and spread them on the ground.

After the salute, Xuanzang took out the wooden fish and sat in front of the door of the broken temple to chant the scriptures.

And Gu Nan sat by the door, looking at the path outside the door and the weeds on both sides of the path.

"Knock knock knock." The muffled sound of wooden fish beating echoed through the temple, accompanied by the sound of whispered chanting.

"I'll be out of the customs in about four or five days." Gu Nan glanced back at Xuanzang and said.

"When you get to the gate, I won't send you anymore."

"Knock..." The hand that knocked on the wooden fish stopped, causing the sound of the wooden fish to stop.

Xuanzang opened his eyes and looked at Gu Nan.

After a while, he gently put down the wooden stick in his hand, folded his hands, and bowed slowly.

"Thank you for coming all the way."

"Nothing." Gu Nan smiled and waved his hand: "It's just a way." ”

Xuanzang stopped talking, just continued to chant the scriptures, or maybe everything he wanted to say was in his recitation.

Later in the day, it started to rain again, probably because of the season, and it was always raining non-stop.

In the rain, the weeds on both sides of the wilderness path became greener, and the grass seemed to be blurred, and it was quite beautiful.

Raindrops dripped down the eaves of the ruined temple and ticked on the ground.

Xuanzang didn't know when he stopped, and he didn't sit down in meditation, but looked at the rain and was distracted.

This should be regarded as a rare time when he did not practice Buddhism, the Zen staff beside him was blown by the breeze, Xuanzang turned his head and said to Gu Nan.

"Speaking of which, the donor, the little monk still doesn't know what the donor's name is, I don't know if I can tell it."

Just a name, there's nothing you can't say.

Gu Nan was about to tell Xuanzang his name, but suddenly had some fun and said with a smile.

"You put your hand over, and I write my name on your hand, and you guess it, and I told you."

Xuanzang was stunned and stretched out his hand in front of Gu Nan.

He felt his hand being grasped, and then a finger touched his palm.

His fingertips were a little cold, and he gently swiped his palm, writing down two words one by one.

After writing, Gu Nan raised his head and asked with a smile, "Have you guessed it?" ”

Xuanzang looked at her in a daze for a while, then lowered his head slightly, no longer looked at her, and said with a faint smile.

"Little monk, write it down. Gu Shizhu. ”

Gu Nan didn't see Xuanzang's strange appearance, he guessed it when he saw him once, shrugged his shoulders, and let go of his hand meaninglessly.

Leaning against the door casually, with his hands behind his head, he sighed as he looked at the rain outside the door.

"Living in the wilderness, when the road rains at night, it's unlucky."

And Xuanzang sat quietly, half loud, looked back at the Buddha statue in the temple, closed his eyes, and recited two sentences lightly.

"Good, good."

This is the words of the Buddha's confession, and I don't know what he is accusing of at this time.

······

The road of four or five days is not long, and in terms of Gu Nan's footsteps, a little slower is the road that can be reached in half a day.

The outside of the gate is desolate, and sometimes there is not a single person for several miles. On the road, Xuanzang was wearing a robe and stood in front of Gu Nan.

Gu Nan pointed to one place with Wuge and said: "In the past, I came to pass the customs, and when I walked there, I could meet a few villages on the way, so it was convenient to make a fortune." ”

Xuanzang looked back in the direction Gu Nan was pointing and turned around.

"So, thank you Gu donor."

Gu Nan put down his hand: "No thanks, don't pass by, be careful on your own road." ”

This monk is a little stunned, but he is also a good monk, and he shouldn't have encountered trouble in this kind of place.

She turned to leave.

Xuanzang stopped her.

"Donor, the little monk still wants something."

"Huh?" Gu Nan turned back suspiciously: "What's the matter?"

I saw Xuanzang walking slowly in front of her, holding the sleeve of the monk's robe, raising a hand and gently knocking on her forehead.

Gu Nan took a step back: "Monk, what are you knocking me for?"

Xuanzang smiled, and said with a light sigh: "One report is returned to one report, so the cause and effect between me and the donor can be regarded as gone."

If the cause and effect are gone, the involvement of the two will be counted.

"You Buddhism always have some strange rules."

Gu Nan thought more about Xuanzang's meaning, touched his forehead, waved goodbye, and walked on the path into the distance.

But when she walked far away, Xuanzang's voice suddenly came from behind her.

"Donor, go to the West Heaven, if the little monk can ask the Buddha's heart, he will ask me for the donor's murder what is the solution, and go to the donor's confusion."

Gu Nan smiled and replied from afar.

"Then I'll wait for you to tell me."

It's just like this, it's another cause and effect.

People gradually walked away, and there were no more people at the end of the road on both sides, Xuanzang stood on the road, carrying his bags.

He sighed, clasped his hands together, and whispered.

"Good."

With that, head west.

Here, he wants to ask the Buddha's heart, the Buddha's will, the seven emotions and six desires, the karma, and the Buddha in his heart.

Tang monk Xuanzang learned scriptures in the west, and later it was also rumored to be a small talk, saying that he was not the only one along the way, and there were three people who walked with him one after another, and those three people were called Wukong, Wuneng, and Wujing. This story was written by later generations and spread widely.

When Gu Nan knew that Wukong was a monkey, he remembered the story of Journey to the West, and he regretted that he should be given this legal name, but this may be cause and effect.

Long after the two parted, Tang Seng learned the scriptures and returned to preach Buddhism.

The incense in the temple is endless, but pilgrims are not allowed to enter the back mountain, because it is the place where the monks practice.

On this day, a pilgrim with a hat walked alone into the back mountain.

There was a thin smoke in the mountains behind, and there was no sound except the sound of chanting and the distant sound of bells.

There is a temple in the mountain, and in the temple stands an old monk, who stands in front of a Buddha statue and recites Buddhist scriptures in a low voice.

Suddenly, a voice came from behind him.

"Monk, let me ask you a question, the Buddha said to put down the butcher's knife, what is the explanation of killing?"

The chanting stopped, and the old monk's closed eyes opened and turned his head.

He saw a man wearing a hat and a black rapier hanging from his waist.

After staying for a long time, the old monk laughed, shook his head and said.

"Xuanzang, I still don't know what to do."

It's like he still doesn't understand why his Buddha heart moved when she wrote her name in the palm of his hand.

There are always things in the world that the Buddha can't explain, in that cause and effect. (https:)
