Chapter 141: Snow Prophecy (2)

Chinese Taoist cultivation has a long history. According to (Zhuangzi), it is said that "Xuanyuan Yellow Emperor asked Yu Guangchengzi", after 5,000 years of development. From Chinese Taoism to Taoism, although its form has changed, its monastic connotation has been passed down from generation to generation, and through the practical practice and empirical evidence of generations of cultivators, its doctrine has been continuously improved, and finally a broad and profound Chinese Taoist cultivation has been formed. Self-contained, endless. In order to help comrades understand the true meaning of Chinese Taoist cultivation, the basic purpose of the Chinese Taoist cultivation can be summarized as the following ten points:

Cultivating morality, internal strength and laymanship.

Cultivation is inner cultivation, that is, internal strength; Cultivating virtue is an external practice, that is, a layman. The two complement each other and are indispensable. The progress of cultivation can improve the level of one's moral cultivation; Noble virtues will also lead to the improvement of cultivation and kung fu. On the other hand, if virtue is insufficient, there is no connection with the Tao. Emperor Qin and Emperor Wugui of the Han Dynasty were the sons of heaven, and they sought immortals all their lives, but they could not get it; And before Chen Nimaru became a real person, he was just a hoop cooper. It can be known that the way of cultivation is not rich or poor, the so-called "refining medicine without restricting the rich and poor", the key is to see whether a person is virtuous, so "the Tao is not presumptuous", the cultivator Yun: "Ten thousand taels of gold are not sold to the Tao, and the cross street is sent to people." "For cultivators, first of all, they must make meritorious deeds in order to become a great way. Jingyun: "Three thousand merits, eight hundred lines." "Those who want to become immortals must establish 1,300 virtues."

The Tao is not preached, and the scriptures are not known.

Daomen takes "Tao, Sutra, and Teacher" as the three treasures, and believes that "the Tao is not passed on without scriptures, and the scriptures are unknown without teachers." "Because of the Tao, the scriptures are established, and because of the scriptures, the Tao is understood."

The Tao, that is, the path of cultivation, refers to the path of self-cultivation and enlightenment.

Sutra, that is, reading the scriptures, reading the works of the patriarch, confirming that it has been repaired.

The teacher, that is, the teacher's transmission, needs to be taught by the true teacher and specify the key points of the Tao. A true master is a Master who has truly practiced Kung Fu, and the so-called "To know the way down the mountain, you must ask the people who have come before." ”

The above two are for personal internal cultivation. It is still indispensable to make merit in ordinary times.

The Tao is natural, and the quiet get it.

The way of cultivation is to learn from nature. The meaning of 'nature' is about twofold:

First, it is natural not to be artificial. "Clear water out of hibiscus, natural carving". Imposing one's own will will harm one's practice. Therefore, it is necessary to act in accordance with the sky, and the heaven and man are together, and the cloud of the "Yin Fu Sutra": "The way to view the sky, the line to hold the sky", the ontology of the avenue.

Second, it varies from person to person, and the effect is different. Since each person has a different physique and different understandings (i.e., comprehension abilities), even if the teacher is the same, the effect of their internal cultivation will not be completely the same.

How to achieve naturalness, the magic lies in one word - quiet. "Yin Fu Sutra" says: "The way of nature is quiet", so those who are quiet get it.

Self-cultivation, no measure of people.

Dan Dao cultivation advocates "self-discipline". First of all, it requires individuals to devote themselves to cultivation, and after they have achieved the Tao and prepared for the Tao, they must be visible in the world, and their breadth is fateful. When one person cultivates, all sentient beings benefit. Otherwise, it will be in vain, lead the way to soar, and it will be useless in the world, and it will be punished by heaven. In "Daozang", "The Beginning of the Yuan Begins to Measure the Wonderful Qualities of People" says; "Immortals are noble beings, and there are no measurable people." The so-called "immeasurable person" is to maximize and selflessly temper those who are related to the Tao.

In the past, when Zhongli Lao Zu turned Lu Zu, he once asked: When do you want to become enlightened? Lu Zu Dayun; I want to save all sentient beings and then become enlightened! This kind of mind is to cultivate the Chinese Taoist style.

The road is not complicated, and it is important to keep the center.

The avenue is simple to easy, to fine to emblem. "Lao Tzu" said: "Less is gained, more is felt." "Huang Tingjing" cloud: "The road is not complicated". Complicated and clueless, all are the end of the road, people do not know the essentials, so the Taoist family does not take. The study of cultivation is a qualitative and refined thing, and less is better than more, pointing directly to the avenue. "Lao Tzu" said: "Tao gives birth to one, life to two, two to three, and three to all things." "The simpler the cover becomes, the closer it is to the avenue. Sima talked about the essence of Taoism and said: "It is easy to make an appointment, and you can do more with less." "It's quite in line with the purpose of cultivation.

Cultivation is based on "keeping the center". "Lao Tzu" said: "It is better to keep the middle than to talk too much." "Zhuangzi" cloud: "Get its ring, in order to respond to infinity." "It's too late, yin and yang are prevalent, and they are easy to hurt Dan, so it is important to keep the center, this is the real fire.

The fairy road is noble and real, and the trick is equally important.

The cultivation of Chinese Taoism is important in true cultivation and empirical evidence, down-to-earth, step by step, and step by step. And always without the human body itself, without the human body itself, everything is false, and the end of the world is coming.

The Chinese ancestors of the past generations have used their own body and mind as experiments to carry out valuable explorations of the mysteries of man and heaven. The cultivation writings they left behind were all conclusions reached through self-verification, and they were things that were "the unity of knowledge and action." If you only know these things literally, without using your own body and mind to actually experience them, and only know the meaning of the text, you will not really understand the meaning, and it is easy to fall into one-sided empty talk; Lao Tzu says that "looking at the body with one's own body" can only understand its true meaning by comparing it with one's own actual practice and verifying it with the writings of ancient cultivators.

On the other hand, when cultivating, if you only seek to teach the Dharma and do not refer to the Taoist teachings, it is easy to practice blindly, and if you don't know what to follow, you will deviate from the Great Dao and mislead people on the wrong path. Therefore, Chinese Taoism emphasizes that "both reasoning and decision-making are emphasized", and it is necessary to seriously study and understand Taoist theories, and to actually verify the cultivation mantra, and the two cannot be neglected. Only in this way can it be possible for people to be one with the Tao at the gate of the Great Road, and realize the Tao and become true.

With the light and dust, use the fake to cultivate the truth.

The principles of Chinese Taoism are not limited to birth or accession to the WTO, but to a spirit of openness that transcends the world, and the light and the dust, and cultivates the truth through falsehood. Temper one's temperament, refine one's moral character, cultivate one's danji, and gain one's Taoist cultivation.

Chinese Taoist monks, advocating "great seclusion in the dust", that is, tempering oneself in the earthly world; When the kung fu is cultivated to a certain level, the Danji has been completed, and it is necessary to be quiet and then enter the mountains and forests. Ge Hong's "Hug Puzi" said: "The big is hidden in the downtown area. "The sergeant is the master of the three armies." "Wuzhen Chapter" cloud: "Unrefined Danmo enters the mountain, and there is no lead inside and outside the mountain." ”

The difference between the light and the dust and the same flow and pollution is that there is no difference from the outside, but there is a difference between the Tao and the Tao inside.

Double cultivation of life, based on longevity.

Sexuality is also reason, heart, God, will, and virtue; The law of the life, the breath, the qi, the form, and the gong. Chinese Taoist cultivation focuses on the dual cultivation of life. It is necessary to nourish the individual's mind and make it bright; and to strengthen the physical form of the individual, that it may endure. And with longevity as the foundation, the way of immortality has three principles:

First, if the Tao is not fruitful, the physical body is bad first, and the Tao is born, and there is no hope. Therefore, it is necessary to first prove immortality, strengthen the body, and keep the capital, and then there is the hope of cultivation in this life.

Second, if you don't have a certain amount of life skills, it will be difficult to restrain your own thoughts from thinking about your own body, and it will be difficult to achieve great success in cultivating your skills.

Third, Chinese Taoism is based on cultivating this world, and is the most realistic, first attaining immortality, and enjoying the immortal fruit in this life, so why wait until he is born in the next life.

Therefore, only by attaining immortality first can we fully guarantee one's cultivation and make one's life more complete. Dissolving limited life into the endless cosmic movement and experiencing the permanence of life is the highest state of "longevity" pursued by Taoism.

Men and women are equal, and women are the best.

In front of the avenue, everyone is equal. Chinese Taoists believe that regardless of men and women, they can cultivate the Tao fruit, and the so-called "cultivating immortals does not ask men and women", so there is no difference between men and women.

Moreover, women generally do work faster than men. Because from the perspective of numerology, the distance between a woman's "sex" (heart palace) and "life" (dantian) is closer; From the perspective of sexual theory, "men move and women are quiet". Therefore, Dan Shuyun: "Men can practice for ten years, and women can practice for three years." "Men can be in limbo for three years, and women can be in limbo for one year."

Of course, due to the quality of each person, it is not allowed to be set for ten or three years. Men's Danfa and women's Danfa have different skills, so there are differences. After the completion of the life work, that is, the man's "descending the white tiger" (closing the yang pass) and the woman's "slaying the red dragon (breaking menstruation) are completed, and the upward kung fu is the same. As for the final achievement, there is no superiority or inferiority.

Eternal life, my life is up to me.

Chinese Taoist cultivation believes that the normal life expectancy of a human being is 120 to 180 years old, which is consistent with modern scientific views. Sixty-year-olds are just children here. It is believed that through the path of cultivation, everyone can live to the best of their life and live to be more than 100 years old. And just like adding firewood to the salary, you can also use the art of cultivating life to continue your life, live forever, become an immortal in the flesh, and be a "living immortal" who is not at the mercy of fate. Wait until you are tired of living in the world, and then you can go to the fairyland in the sky, "Zhuangzi" cloud: "Chitose is tired of the world, go to the immortals." ”

The Chinese Taoist view of "living immortals" in this world is to maintain a positive and enterprising outlook on life, to be good, happy, waiting, and noble, and to be full of confidence in real life; The second is through cultivation, to achieve the best of his life, and even to live forever for a long time, to go to the immortals, not to be at the mercy of fate, this is "my life is up to me, not to the sky".
