Verse 50: Tell a story
To Bruce's surprise, the pirates' lair was not on some mysterious island, their lair was somewhere in the thick forest along the coastline, but Bruce only knew the approximate location because the pirates blindfolded him with cloth.
"Let's go." A pirate shoved Bruce and almost tripped him, although the nobles could be exchanged for ransom, it did not mean that the pirates would like the nobles, just like the Brotherhood without Banners, many pirates were fugitive slaves oppressed by the nobles.
Bruce stumbled and walked for an unknown amount of time, and finally the team stopped, he smelled the smell of roast meat in his nose, and Bruce couldn't help but swallow his saliva after a bumpy day.
"Take it down." The pirate leader commanded his men, and the cloth that blindfolded Bruce was removed.
Bruce opened his eyes and adjusted to the light, and he saw that it was a low-lying valley, where several pirates had gathered at the mouth of the cave, a roasted boar on a burning bonfire, and a wooden hut outside the cave, which was supposed to store the pirates' weapons.
"I'm hungry." Bruce rubbed his loose hands, sat down on the stone at the mouth of the cave, and said to one of the robbers roasting a wild boar.
"What?" When the pirates heard Bruce's words, they were a little surprised, the pirates had also kidnapped meat tickets before, although there were few nobles, but they were also rich merchants and the like, and they shivered in the pirate's lair, like a flock of quails.
But Bruce was undaunted, urging the pirates to cut wild boar for him, as if he were not in a murderous pirate lair, but a guest here.
"Give it to him." Bruce's performance amused the pirate leader, who smiled and motioned for his men around the campfire to cut a slice of wild boar for Bruce.
Bruce picked up the wild boar meat and ate it, although the roast meat without any spices didn't taste good, but it was very natural, and Bruce ate it deliciously.
"Such a good barbecue should be accompanied by wine." Bruce finished eating the meat, sucked his fingers, and said with some dissatisfaction, listening to his words, the pirates were laughed angrily, this kid really regarded himself as a guest.
"Bastard, you can see it again." The pirate who cut the meat for Bruce suddenly turned his face and put the cleaver on Bruce's neck, the cold blade against Bruce's neck, as long as the pirate used a little force, the tip of the knife would pierce the artery in the neck, and the hot blood would gush out.
"Tsk." Bruce smiled, and he stretched out the fingers of his right hand to pull the knife away, and the pirate looked angry, but did not move the knife further.
"Give him wine." The pirate leader raised his chin and asked his men to bring Bruce ale, a slightly bitter fermented wine that was the favorite of the lower middle class.
"Unfortunately, it would be better if it was paired with wine." Bruce drank the wine from the wooden glass, and looked at the bottomed glass, Bruce sighed.
"Bastard nobleman, don't take an inch, or I'd rather not have a ransom than throw you off the cliff." The pirate leader's face turned blue, and he narrowed his eyes as he said to Bruce.
"Ha, you won't, it's not worth it, but for your hospitality, I want to repay you." Bruce smiled slightly, not paying attention to the threat of the pirate leader, he stood in front of the campfire and bowed to the pirates.
"Return, hahaha, your best reward is to pray that the ransom will be raised for us as soon as possible." The pirates laughed, and they looked at Bruce with unkind eyes.
"Oh, my friends, I'll pay the ransom, but in return for your kindness, I'll tell you a story in return." Bruce stood in front of the campfire and said to the pirates.
"Storytelling?" The pirates looked at each other when they heard this, but they became interested, these pirates who licked blood with knives, and their daily life was to drink, find women and kill people, but this kind of exciting life for ordinary people gradually made the pirates numb, especially after a full meal, except for fighting or drinking, there was no other entertainment at all.
"Okay, let's get started! However, I have one condition, if you don't tell the truth, then I'm going to cut out your tongue. The pirate leader drew his sword and stuck it in the dirt in front of him, and he said to Bruce.
"Of course." Bruce nodded, then cleared his throat, carefully recalling the story in his head, a story that was very famous in his time.
The story begins with an ordinary teenager named Charlie Fan. By chance, a mysterious wandering knight taught him the mysterious swordsmanship on his deathbed, hoping to fulfill his dream of pursuing supreme honor in Charlie Fan.
However, Charliefan's village was bloodily slaughtered, and no one in the village was spared, except for Charlifan and Mary Sue, two children, and a woodcutter named Jack. When a lord saw this tragedy, he couldn't bear it, so he took them in. Mary Sue was gifted and intelligent, and was accepted as an apprentice by the "Dragonhead" knight. And Charlie is a wooden person, with average qualifications, and no one likes him, and in the push, the "upright" knight accepts him as an apprentice.
Mary Sue was amazingly talented, cultivated quickly, and soon got the true biography of the dragon-headed knight, and was given the "Dragon Slaying Sword". And Charlie Fan because of the mysterious swordsmanship, the progress is very slow, the master and the brothers have long lost hope in him, arranged for him to cook in the kitchen, but unexpectedly, he has a good cooking skills worthy of praise. Nancy, the daughter of the lord, has been in love for a long time, and Charlie Fan has always had a crush on Nancy in his heart. However, Nancy didn't take a fancy to him with dull qualifications, but just loved him as a younger brother, and admired another talented and beautiful nobleman.
Bruce recounted the famous web novel story of Lang Lang, which was processed and adapted a little to make it more understandable to the pirates, and he continued to tell it until it was dark, and only the flames of the campfire at the entrance of the cave were dancing.
"Ahem." Bruce's mouth was dry, but it was quiet, and the pirates' breathing was so small that everyone stared at him with wide eyes.
"Damn, it's not too avant-garde, he doesn't understand these guys, right?" Bruce swallowed hard, his heart aching.
"Damn it." Suddenly, the pirate leader slapped himself on the thigh and cursed, startling Bruce for not knowing what was going on.
"Well, if you don't think it sounds good, I have another story here." Bruce said quickly, but it was clear that he would be mistaken.
"I think Charlie Fan will definitely become a great knight."
"No, I think that noble Hao is a piece of bullshit."
"Tsk, if I just Nancy on the ground."
"No way, the lord will hang you immediately."
"Even if you die, it's not bad, as long as you can do Nancy once."
Unexpectedly, the pirates broke out into a heated discussion, and they completely immersed themselves in the story of Bruce, and the valley that was originally except for the howling of wild wolves was now like a book lover's meeting.
"Ahhh The pirate leader stood up, drew his sword, swung it above his head, and asked Bruce in a gruff voice.
"Oh, of course." Bruce nodded hurriedly, relieved in his heart, this story is very long, as long as these pirates enter the pit, their lives will be saved.
At night, the cold wind whined in the valley, and the pirates arranged Bruce in a cave, covered with hay and animal skins, but it was not cold at all.
"Whew." Bruce lay on the soft hide, and the pirates did not look like a prisoner at all, and the attentive pirates placed a flask next to Bruce with some of the wine they had captured.
"Well, Master Bruce, do you think Charlie is with Nancy, or with Mary Sue, or both of them become his women?" One of the pirates asked, looking at Bruce with a burning gaze after putting down the flask.
"Well, that'll be revealed later." Bruce smiled reluctantly and said to him.
"Bastard, hurry up and stand guard." The pirate leader walked over and yelled as he pushed his men away.
The pirate had to walk out of the cave, reluctantly went to stand guard by the campfire, Bruce was about to lie down and rest, but the pirate leader stood beside him, when Bruce lay down, the huge body leaned down, Bruston was nervous, and the chrysanthemum tightened, the pirate leader's lips came to Bruce's ear, and the hot breath exhaled in Bruce's ear, so frightened that Bruce quickly sat up and looked at the pirate leader nervously.
"Lord Bruce, I just want to know that in the end, that noble Hao will be killed by Charlie Fan, right?" The pirate leader's eyes were filled with longing, and he licked his lips and asked Bruce, his heart like a kitten if he couldn't figure it out.
"Uh, dang, of course." Bruce nodded hurriedly, and the pirate leader smiled at this time, stood up and strode out contentedly, and Bruce also breathed a sigh of relief, almost thinking that he was in danger.
In the days that followed, the pirates were completely immersed in the story of Bruce, screaming at Charliefan's injustice, contemplating Nancy's beauty, and drinking excitedly at Charliefan's performance at the jousting tournament, and one fantastical world after another unfolded before their eyes.
"Charlie Fan and Julie Xue hugged each other, and when they were knocked off the cliff by the terrible dryad, the banshee Elena saved Charlie Fan and told him something ~~~." Bruce slowly finishes the end of the first volume, but the suspense left behind is too much for the robbers to enjoy.
"Damn it." The pirate leader drank a glass of wine, then shook his head and sighed, the banshee Elena distressing him.
"Head, Lord Bruce's retainers have appeared, and they have demanded the ransom of their lord." At this moment, a pirate appeared from outside the valley and shouted to the pirate leader.
