Section 8: Bruce's Decision
Early in the morning, at the door of Bruce's lord's house, there was a dead crow, the pitch black feathers were tightly attached to the body, Bruce looked up at the sky, thick clouds and drizzle, this crow must have been frozen to death in the cold night.
"Ah, Lord Lord, it is very unlucky to have a dead crow." Little Lori Anne screamed at the fuss, and she immediately pointed her palm at the dead crow, which is said to be a very ancient method of defending against demons and bad luck.
Bruce ignored Anne's warning, and lifted the crow and threw it out of the yard, for he had no time to think about superstition, but yesterday the blacksmith visited him late at night, and told him that he had been smuggled supplies to Locke Manor without telling him that Todd had secretly smuggled the supplies to Locke Manor.
This was a naked betrayal for Bruce, and he snorted coldly, since the other party stepped on his head, then don't blame him for being polite.
"This isn't the first time this has happened, is it?" Bruce asked the blacksmith.
"Uh, this, this." The blacksmith was a little hesitant, and although he came to tell Bruce about it, when Bruce asked, he didn't know whether to answer or not.
"It's certainly not the first time, Todd used this to steal my father's property, and now he's stealing my property."
Bruce knew that stealing the lord's property could kill him, but Todd transported the expropriated property to Locke Manor, so it was not easy, and it was certain that Bruce's brother James was behind the scenes.
"Go and get Eve the Huntress, oh yes, and you and your son too." Bruce commanded the blacksmith.
"Yes, my lord." The blacksmith did not dare to slack off, and he hurried back in the cold wind of the night, and told the elders Bruce's orders.
The elder had not yet rested in his hut, and he opened his leaky old wooden door and let the blacksmith into his small house.
"Do as the lord says." Hearing the blacksmith's words, the elder's white eyebrows twitched, and he said in a hoarse voice.
"But is he going to ask our people to help him kill people?" The blacksmith said worriedly, as the losers of the battle for the black and white towers, they were nothing more than a group of exiled prisoners, and if they killed the magistrate, they would be immediately hanged.
"Don't worry, this is the lord's order, and the lord will take care of anything." Elder Warren smiled, his sparse teeth bared, but his cloudy eyes were shining.
When the blacksmith turned to leave, Warren the Elder stood up, and straightened his waist, but it was a pity that even an old man like him would touch the roof.
"Things are getting interesting." Warren wasn't angry, he said to himself.
"Your Lord, you summoned me?" Bruce's thoughts were interrupted by a crisp voice, and when he came back to his senses, he saw Eve the Huntress standing in front of him, and the blacksmith father and son slowly walking into the courtyard of the house.
"Yes, do you know where Todd's carriage passes?" Bruce asked the huntress.
"Of course." Eve's beautiful green eyes looked at Bruce, and there was inquiry, suspicion, and disapproval in her gaze, but she was quick to speak.
"Take your bow and arrows, and the blacksmith father and son will take the club and follow me." Bruce nodded at the huntress as he inserted his heirloom iron sword into the leather belt around his waist and strode outside.
"Your Lord." Little Lori Anne looked at him worriedly, but stopped after chasing two steps.
"Don't worry, little lamb, I'll take care of your master." Huntress Eve giggled, gave Anne a flying kiss, and then twisted her waist to follow Bruce.
"The Lord God is above, I hope we don't encounter any bad luck." The blacksmith muttered a prayer, but he and his son followed with a club.
On the border of the village of Greenton, a brightly painted pack carriage was marching, and two armed servants with short swords at their waists followed the carriage, even in the territory of the Locke family, they did not dare to be careless, robbers, noble robbers, bandits, and green forest heroes were always in every corner.
"Yawn, I'm finally home, I'm going to get some rest."
"Don't be careless, you can't take it lightly if you don't get to Lord Todd's house."
"Ha, there's nothing in the carriage, and the robbers won't be on the look."
"Well, that's what you said."
The armed servants thought that the trip was fortunate, and that the carriage laden with goods was the most dangerous, but they were fortunate to return, and Lord James's steward was satisfied.
"Whoosh~~."
Just as the two of them were rejoicing, an arrow flew out from behind the stone and landed exactly on the carriage.
"Robbers, robbers."
The two armed servants hurriedly drew their short swords at their waists, and they guarded both sides of the carriage, and the coachman was frightened and lay under the carriage and did not dare to come out.
"Robbers? I think you're the robbers! Bruce stepped out from behind the stone, with an iron sword at his waist, and looked at the two armed servants with arrogance.
"Lord, lord?" The two armed servants were taken aback when they saw Bruce, they looked at each other, and they didn't expect to run into Bruce here.
"That's right, it's me, and I declare you sentenced to death for theft in the name of your lord." Bruce put his hand on the hilt of his sword and said to the two armed servants.
"What? No, Lord Lord, you must be mistaken. The armed servant, with a scar on his face, hurriedly waved his hand to Bruce and said.
"Mistaken? Do you think I don't know about Todd's tricks? Bruce laughed angrily as he said to the two armed servants.
"You, you already know?" The armed servant of Scarface was taken aback, and his heart panicked, if Bruce knew what Todd had done, he would have hanged them all.
"Ahem." But the armed servant with yellow teeth next to him coughed softly and gestured to Scarface with his eyes.
Following his companion's gaze, Scarface realizes that Bruce seems to be a person, and immediately understands what his companion means, and no one knows what happened when he kills Bruce.
It is a felony to kill a nobleman, but if you don't kill Bruce, then they are the ones who die, not to mention that Bruce has never been loved by Lord James, and if he hears that his dear brother fell off a cliff and died because of hunting, I am afraid that Lord Locke will jump up and applaud.
"My lord, please listen to our explanation." After Scarface and Yellow Fang glanced at each other, they were very tacitly outflanked from both sides at the same time, but their attitudes were very deferential, as if they really wanted Bruce to explain.
"Oh?" Looking at the armed servants who were outflanked from both sides, Bruce immediately became vigilant, although his body was only a teenager, but his soul was a thirty-seven-year-old village official who was crawling at the grassroots level, and his thoughtfulness and prudence were the evaluations of other village cadres.
"Stand there and say." Bruce said to the two of them.
"I'm afraid it's too late." But the two armed servants had already made up their minds, and they stabbed Bruce with the short swords they wielded.
"Brush." Bruce had already put his hand on the hilt of his sword, and he immediately drew his iron sword, and the blade of the sword let out a buzzing sound.
"Scandium." Bruce's sword collided with Scarface's short sword, making a crisp metallic sound, although Bruce was not good at using a sword, but the long sword had an advantage over the short sword, and blocked Scarface's attack at once.
But on the other side, the armed servant with yellow teeth stabbed Bruce in the side with a murderous face, and Bruce had no time to resist.
"Whoosh~~, poof." At this moment, an arrow flew over and pierced through Yellow Fang's wrist, and immediately blood flowed out of Yellow Fang's wrist, and he covered his wrist with a groan, and the short sword in his hand fell off and fell to the ground.
"Oooo Jumping from behind the stone, the blacksmith father and son joined the battle with sticks in hand and rescued Bruce, while the huntress Eve jumped on the stone and drew her short bow and aimed her arrows at the two armed servants.
