Chapter 125: The Death of Jade Phoenix Terrace (Part II)
Yufengtai adopts the ancient architectural style of brick and wood structure, and the folk architecture skills are exquisite.
Nong Tianyi introduced to Wang Ziwei that the entire building complex can be summarized as three halls, two courtyards and three floors. Enter the first hall, which is dedicated to the Heavenly King Bodhisattva, and the two sides are aisles; The transepts on both sides are places for Taoists to do their homework and rest.
They came to the second hall, which enshrined the statue of Emperor Guan, and behind it was Zhou Cang who took the "Qinglong Yanyue Knife" and "Guan Ping held the statue of the sword", and placed a cast iron incense burner in the center, not far away, there was a "Moon Printing Well". The transept rooms on both sides are guest rest rooms. Then there is the living room on the third floor, where there are many statues of gods and goddesses, and there is a place for divination by lot.
On the right side of the hall is the "Niangniang Palace", which is equipped with statues such as "Sending a Child Niangniang", "Giving Birth to Niangniang", and "Stealing Niangniang". On the left side of the hall is a wooden stairwell dedicated to the goddess "Queen Mother".
Nong Tianyi joked, you should have more children in the future!
Wang Ziwei said angrily, you just want to do good things!
Follow the wooden ladder to the second floor, which is called "Night Moon Tower". Eighteen Taishi chairs and some coffee tables and tea sets are placed around. The chairs and coffee tables are intricately carved and inlaid with jade. There is a silk hanging in the middle of the window around the perimeter, and there is a picture of "Tea Ancestor Shennong's Picture" painted on it, all of which are the authentic works of famous masters in the Ming and Qing dynasties, and the inscription seal is eclectic. The contents of the painting include "Tea Ancestor Shennong", "Shennong Planting Tea", "Yandi Boiling Tea", "Shennong Tea", "Yandi Jingshan Tour", "Shennong Decoction Medicine", "Yandi Farming Map" and so on.
Continue upstairs to the third floor, which is called "Tongmei Palace". There are eight bronze bells hanging upstairs, and the wind resounded in all directions. The roof is covered with glazed tiles, which is magnificent. The girder is carved with a dragon and a phoenix, the red paint is painted with gold, and the gold wall is brilliant.
The whole building is ingenious and ingeniously designed, highlighting the profound Taoist culture and folk architectural art, and is a rare ancient architectural cultural boutique.
As far as the eye can see, the ancient Yufengtai is located in a flat river valley, showing the unity of nature and man, and the beauty of natural harmony. Taiji was embraced by the frustrated water coming from afar, entangled by the Yinma River coming from the shortest, and tightly circled around Yufeng Wharf. If you want to cross the water, you have to lower the suspension bridge on the opposite side. If you look at each other across the bridge, you will find that the ancient Yufengtai is like a small castle, standing in the stormy world.
Whenever the rainy season comes, the Yufeng Wharf suddenly becomes abundant, with a body width of more than 60 meters, enclosing the Yufeng Terrace into a small island. At this time, it is indispensable to call for boating, which is inconvenient but has some fun.
In ancient times, Yufengtai attracted a pair of beautiful phoenixes with its clear water circulation, green trees and the fragrance of birds and flowers. They landed on a tall plane tree, made a nest, and laid eggs. People miss the auspicious phoenix very much, since then, they call the plane tree that rests over the phoenix as the "phoenix tree", call the earth and stone platform with the phoenix tree "Yufeng Terrace", call the water wharf that flows through and surround the Yufeng Terrace, call it "Jade Phoenix Wharf", and call the stone arch bridge not far from the south of the Yufeng Terrace as "Yufeng Bridge".
Many years later, people donated money to build a temple on the Yufeng Terrace, named "Ancient Yufeng Terrace", engraved on a heavy granite stone in a large font vertically, and then inlaid on the tall temple gate. Walk into the temple gate, look up, you can see that there is the word "Guangxu ten years reconstruction" on the main beam of the main hall, which is said to have been built in the Tang Dynasty.
Back then, Guyufengtai was one of the famous "Six Stations and Ten Scenic Spots" in Nanyi County, which was not only a well-known Taoist resort, but also a good place for sightseeing, summer retreat and recuperation. Since the temple has been established, there are many pilgrims and tourists. Especially during the New Year's holidays, it is even more lively. Every year from the first day of the Lunar New Year to the fifteenth day of the first lunar month, from early morning to evening, the temple is always crowded. There are those who burn incense and candles, ask for signs, make wishes, dance dragon lanterns, play lions, row boats, and pinch candy people, blow up balloons, sell fireworks, and more come to visit temple fairs.
On the third day of the third month of the lunar calendar, there are groups of young students wearing bright clothes, holding colorful flags, beating gongs and drums, singing and laughing all the way, and come here to go green. Even in normal times, there are tourists who come in pairs. In the middle of summer, there are still some tourists who come here to stay, or escape the heat, or recuperate, all of which are comfortable. Among them, many of them are literati, celebrities from all walks of life, and eminent monks of monasteries. Here they either stop to meditate, or swim in the beautiful scenery, or express their minds, or participate in the scriptures and enlightenment, leaving the precious ink that falls out of the masterpieces.
The strange thing is that although the temple of Guyufengtai is not small, there are not many Taoists, including the Taoist, there are generally only five to seven people. In addition to chanting scriptures, cleaning courtyards, and receiving pilgrims and tourists, the Taoists also planted some thin fields, managed a small tea plantation, and harvested only one season of wheat and rape each year before the flood season. The tea tree is perennial green, and the fried tea leaves are delicate and mellow, called "Yufeng Zen tea", and there is a tea room for pilgrims and visitors to taste tea. At the same time, some vegetables, fruits, medicinal herbs and flowers are planted on both sides of the temple and on the land behind the temple for their own use and to help the villagers. However, the Taoist style that the Taoists believe in still exists, and the essence of Taoist medicine is still there.
The Taoist brewed some medicinal wine all year round to treat bruises and rheumatoid joints and other diseases for the surrounding villagers, and the effect was very good, and no penny was charged. When the weather is hot, Taoists use chrysanthemums and honeysuckle to make tea every day, and they are free for passers-by to drink. When the area around Gufeng Tai was besieged by heavy water, they spontaneously ferried for passers-by to provide convenience and tide over the difficulties together.
Therefore, the surrounding villagers regard the ancient Yufengtai as a geographical indication of the soul, even if they are young and leave home until their temples are white, even if they are far away in the world, they will not forget the ancient Yufengtai in their childhood. In the face of the vicissitudes of Yufengtai, they will arouse infinite thoughts and reverie.
History must not be forgotten. One year, there was a devastating flood that swept through the waves and swept for thousands of miles, engulfing vast tracts of farmland and villages overnight. More than a dozen families who had no relatives to invest in the victims drifted from the upstream to Yufengtai by wooden rafts. When the victims were so hungry that they had no wood to boil water for cooking, they savagely raised their knives and axes, first cutting down the trees around the temple, then removing the doors, windows, and beams, and day after day, frantically cutting down and demolishing them, but no one stopped them. After hearing the news, some nearby victims were also moved and flocked to the disaster in broad daylight...... In less than a few days, an ancient jade phoenix platform with infinite scenery was destroyed to the point that there was not a single inch of wood left, not a single tile left, and even the tree roots were dug up completely. There is only one remnant of a bare earth and stone platform covered in scales, and the ancient Yufeng platform was tragically destroyed, unrecognizable, and the scene is very miserable.
Since then, how many years have passed, Gu Yufengtai is still bare, quiet, and lonely in this remote place, seemingly far away from the world, and rarely patronized, gradually forgotten, until it is drowned in the long river of time.
Nong Tianyi sighed, this has to be said to be a kind of historical regret, a kind of cultural wear, which makes people sigh!
Wang Ziwei said that it is a pity that such a majestic temple was destroyed like this!
