Chapter 3 is just for your pleasure
Autumn 2000.
The Sydney concert of the Dynasty Hotel in the autumn of 2000 was the first commercial performance of the China Red River National Symphony Orchestra led by me. After graduating from university in 1984, I was admitted to the Royal Academy of Music and was sent by the state to the Royal Academy of Music to study for a master's degree and a bachelor's degree. It can be said that if it were not for Yunnan, or if it were not for the border city of Huisa, it would not have been my turn to study at the Royal Academy of Music for graduate school or to study at the Royal Academy of Music. After returning to Beijing from Yunnan that year, I wrote a dissertation entitled "The Development Direction of Chinese Folk Music: Also on the World Value of Multi-part Singing of the Hani Ethnic Group in Honghe, Yunnan", with the theme of the multi-part singing method of the Hani ethnic group in Azha Township, Honghe County, Yunnan Province. I rejected the popular belief that only Europe had multi-part musical art, and that Chinese folk music had always been perceived as sensual, single-line, and single-lined. European music, on the other hand, is rational, logical, and complex, and has experienced the Western Industrial Revolution and the Italian Renaissance, thus negating the nihilism of some experts and scholars in national music and the view of music art in Europe and the United States. As a result, I was ridiculed as an arrogant person by some academic authorities who had the right to speak. I admit my arrogance, but at the same time, I also admit that the history of Chinese music is a history that has been torn apart, and that literature and art, including music, cannot be separated from a specific historical environment. In the course of history, Chinese music has been constantly interrupted or even dissolved by the violence of the revolution, and many art forms have decayed, lost, and even died out over the long years. But we can't let that dismiss our cultural heritage. As far as China is concerned, there are also geographical and cultural differences. It is this difference that has preserved the art form of multi-part singing of the Hani people in Aza Township, Honghe, Yunnan. Therefore, I always believe that Azha Township is not only the Azha Township of China, but also the Azha Township of the world in terms of music and art. Therefore, my conclusion is that there is art in Europe, we have it, we have art that Europe does not have, and we always have. Anyone who denies this point is questioning the thousand-year-old history of Chinese civilization.
At that time, my arrogance was also due to my psychological antipathy to some people, and I opened my mouth to Chopin, Schubert, and Tchaikovsky, of course, these masters are good, but the people in the land of Aza, everyone is a singer, everyone is a dancer, they dance on the earth, can't they be masters? Of course, I have to be grateful to my long-lost old headmaster, who gave my thesis to a supposedly chieftain, who said that I was a good student with national righteousness and the future of Chinese folk music, and thus changed my fate, and that I, who was regarded as a nonsense student, was sent to England. After returning to China, I have been studying Chinese folk music with the National Symphony Orchestra. There are too many reasons for me to leave the National Symphony Orchestra, but the only reason is that I want to let Chinese folk music like Honghe Aza Township make the world known and known to this era in my lifetime.
Ah Suo said to me: "Huang, Mr. Huang, don't have any pressure, it doesn't matter if you make money or not, just go to Sydney to play a trick." ”
Asso has long been not the director of the Office of the Federation of Literary and Art Circles, and his son inherited his father's business and took over his father's industry in Southeast Asian countries, called the chairman of the board of directors of Yiche (Transnational) Group Company, and his industries include jade, minerals, timber, real estate, hotels, etc., with the largest jade base in northern Myanmar, with the right to mine gold and timber in Laos, and there are also many industries in China, and he is one of the Chinese businessmen on the Forbes rich list. Therefore, as far as the ownership of property is concerned, the owner of the China Red River Symphony Orchestra is Asuo, and I, the head of the orchestra, am only the person in charge.
I said to Asso: "I can't be indifferent, I want to do this all my life and let the world hear the most moving voice sung by the Chinese, the people of Aza Township." ”
Aso said: "This, I know, we Yiche people have been singing since childhood, singing to the sky, singing to the earth, singing to the cuckoo, we are singing with our hearts, when the autumn harvest comes, we believe that the gods of the sky and the earth cuckoo understand our wishes, so there is a good harvest." As far as the matter is concerned, I believe in you, Mr. Huang, but I don't want you to be pressured, I can afford it. Of course, it is important to have money, but you also have to have dignity. "Aso's Chinese is still stammering.
Ah Suo and I both avoided talking about Ah Yue.
Asso said lightly: "Have you been alone for so many years? You should have a companion."
I said, "Get used to it." ”
My chance encounter with Aso was at the Sydney Opera House.
It was the winter of 1995, and I was attending an event in Sydney, and a friend invited me to the Sydney Opera House to see Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet, performed by the Ukrainian Song and Dance Troupe.
A Japanese woman on my side pointed to a Chinese in front of her and said, "Chinese, nouveau riche, running to the opera house to sleep." ”
Unexpectedly, this Chinese opened his eyes and said, "Can't I just sleep?" You know that music is listened to with the heart, not seen with the eyes, you know? Do you a Japanese know what music is? The Chinese have always been your ancestors and will continue to be. Do you want to listen to it, I let you listen to the best music of the Chinese in this opera house? What else do you Japanese have besides China? ”
The Japanese woman was speechless for a moment. When I saw it, wasn't this black-faced man Aso? After all, it was indecent to quarrel at the opera house, so I went up and quietly took Aso's hand and walked out of the opera house.
When I walked out of the opera house, I saw a woman and two men in black following Aso, and at the entrance of the opera house, two men in black came up and held me up. Aso snapped, "Loosen up, my teacher, don't you see him like a killer?" The man in black respectfully said, "Yes, Chairman." ”
It turned out that the woman was his secretary, and the man in black was a bodyguard, making it look like an underworld.
This is a foreign acquaintance!
I think of the encounter many years ago.
I said goodbye to my friends, got into Aso's black Lincoln sedan, and went straight to Aso's branch in Sydney. It was this chance encounter that gave birth to the China Red River National Symphony Orchestra.
On the evening of that day, Asso said: "Huang, if Mr. Huang is interested, I will build a Honghe Opera House in Kunming, like the Sydney Opera House." ”
Aso's tone was a bit like that of an upstart, but I was still tempted.
Asso said, "If you promise the principal, I will invest." ”
It was this chance encounter in Sydney that made me decide to leave the National Symphony Orchestra, which I could be with for the rest of my life. From the organization, staffing, to the completion of the Red River Opera House, it took five years. In the spring of 2000, the Red River Opera House's first performance of "Carnival of the Earth" became one of the top ten events in the Chinese entertainment industry that year. But our goal is to revive Sydney, the world, and Chinese folk music, and we want to let the world know that the best sound and best music are in China, in Yunnan, in Honghe Aza Township.
