Chapter 25: The Heirs

"Honestly, what the hell are you trying to do to me?" Karl asked, looking Grindelwald in the eye.

Grindelwald blinked.

Then, he scratched his head, looking confused.

"What do you mean by that word?"

His mouth was open, and his face was full of indescribability, as if he was constipated.

"Following ...... Following what?"

He kept muttering in his mouth, as if trying to think of something.

Suddenly, he slapped his head.

"Aha!"

"Heir!"

As he spoke, Grindelwald looked up and looked back into Carl's eyes.

"I want you to be my heir, Carl!"

As if to highlight something, Grindelwald once again changed his name to Carl.

Carl blinked, staring at Grindelwald in a daze.

After a long time, I suddenly smiled.

......

Karl almost burst into tears, he looked at Grindelwald amusedly, and said:

"After what you've done to me, you told me you want me to be your heir?"

I believe you're evil!

It's not that he didn't know that Grindelwald's lifelong quest was to transcend death.

A person who wants to defeat death wants an heir to Mao.

"You don't believe what I say?" asked Grindelwald.

Carl nodded lightly, "Yes, I don't believe it. ”

"As far as I know, a man who has made the Deathly Hallows his life's quest will not need an heir. ”

Somehow, hearing Carl say this, Grindelwald seemed to suddenly become happy.

He smiled and said to Karl, "You know it thoroughly, don't you? Even the Deathly Hallows!"

Carl nodded affirmatively.

He didn't plan to play dumb riddles, play routines, where was he the opponent of the big guy in front of him, he decided to be open and honest.

Seeing Karl nodding, Grindelwald said, "Then you should know that Albus already has two Deathly Hallows!

Carl nodded, then shook his head again.

He had always thought that Dumbledore had seen through death, so he gave up the opportunity to become the owner of the three Deathly Hallows.

But now, judging by Grindelwald's reaction, there seems to be something else going on.

So, he asked directly.

Grindelwald nodded understandingly, "That's right, normal people think so." ”

There was emotion in his voice: "I'm more than a hundred years old, and I've lived enough to think about it, and eternal life doesn't seem to be attractive anymore, but-"

He changed his words, "The truth is not what normal people think!"

"What do you mean?" Karl asked, frowning.

"Don't worry," Grindelwald said with a smile, "I'll tell you what you want to know, but you'll have to be patient, because it might sound a bit boring to the average person." ”

Carl nodded.

And so, Grindelwald began.

"I don't know if you've heard it, Carl - death is just another great adventure. ”

Karl nodded immediately.

This sentence is simply Dumbledore's famous quote, the old man said it more than once.

Grindelwald said disapprovingly: "This is not a simple philosophy. ”

"This sentence contains the deepest secrets of the wizarding world!"

Karl's pupils immediately shrank, and he opened his mouth to ask, but Grindelwald didn't give him a chance to ask, but talked about something else.

"Speaking of which, Carl, I have to thank you for doing me a small favor. ”

Carl's heart moved, "You mean the guy from last semester?"

"You're smart!" Grindelwald scoffed, "an ordinary prison guard, a loser in life, a wretched worm through and through, who seems to find a little bit of superiority in the down-and-out Dark Lord!"

"It's really looking for death!" Grindelwald's face turned cold.

In a trance, Carl suddenly felt that the air around him had dropped by a few degrees.

"I can't just kill him," Grindelwald smiled again, with a bit of cruelty, "I can only let him come out and die on his own." ”

"By the way, waste recycling!" he said to Carl with a smile.

"Waste?" Carl remembered the experience of the previous semester and couldn't help but look at Grindelwald viciously.

"You almost killed me with him!

"And this semester! you're almostβ€”" Carl didn't say more.

He took a deep breath, suppressed his anger, and glared at Grindelwald.

"You don't just want to have fun with me, do you?"

"Of course not!" Grindelwald shook his head decisively.

"Those are tests, Carl!"

"Like I said, I'll have to see if you're really qualified!"

"Besides, I didn't really kill you, did I?" asked Grindelwald rhetorically.

I believe you're a ghost!" Carl disdained in his heart.

On the surface, he asked quietly, "Test, what do you want to test me?"

Grindelwald shook his head again, and the conversation changed again.

"Like you said, once upon a time, my life's quest was to overcome death. ”

Can you not turn the topic so hard, hey!

Still, Karl grasped the crux of the words.

"Ever?"

Grindelwald nodded, sighed, and said, "When you reach my age, you will find that death is really not a big deal." ”

"That's something I've only felt in recent years. ”

Grindelwald seems to be deliberately guiding Karl, constantly changing the direction of the conversation.

Vaguely, Carl felt that he sensed something crucial.

So, he asked, "I heard that you showed repentance in Newmond Gadri?"

Grindelwald nodded.

"That's right, an old man, disheartened and idle, what else can he do but recall the reckless actions of his youth?"

Suddenly, Grindelwald stared at Carl sharply, his eyes shining.

"Until you show up!"

Carl Chrysanthemum tightened and subconsciously took a step back.

"You, what are you going to do?!"

As he spoke, he raised his wand.

As soon as Grindelwald made the slightest move, he immediately counterattacked.

He had prepared for the worst.

Even if he can't beat it, he'd rather kill himself than let this old thing succeed!

Grindelwald looked at Carl strangely, "What are you doing? ”

As he spoke, he ignored Carl and continued.

"Albus did everything she could not let me know that you were at Hogwarts, but I didβ€”"

"That picture of yours!"

"I saw it in the Daily Prophet, which is well-known even outside the UK. ”

"I was bored in Newmengard, and I asked the guard for a newspaper to read, and I recognized you from above. ”

"After all, you look so much like me and Albus when they were younger!"

As he spoke, Grindelwald sighed.

"I'll admit, Carl, you've inherited Albus's talent for Transfiguration!"
