Chapter Seventy-One: The First Battle (Part II)
Manfred led Claire down the stairs to meet the SS platoon commander rushing downstairs with a group of soldiers.
"Hey! Ensign Manfred! Where are you going? The platoon commander shouted at Manfred, "The men of the Armed Guards are gathering outside, and it may be dangerous for you to go out now!" ”
"You know that, too? I was just about to tell you that something doesn't look right with a group of people out there. Manfred paused, "Is that group the Armed Guards?" I think there are a lot of them, do you have enough people here? ”
"I only have about 30 people here, and I can't fight them off. But I've already asked for help from above, and hopefully we'll be able to hold out for help. The platoon commander looked frustrated, "It's unlucky, I just ran into these damn bastards not long after I was transferred." ”
Manfred patted the platoon commander on the shoulder and said, "I'll go get my team together first, and then I'll come back to help you defend!" ”
"No, you guys hurry up and run." The platoon commander glanced out the window and said anxiously, "I see that their attack will start soon, you guys hurry up and don't come back!" ”
Manfred hurriedly ran to the door with Claire and waved to the platoon commander, not knowing whether he promised the platoon commander not to come back, or not.
On the street, a large number of people were fleeing the street where the "war" was about to take place, and Manfred and Claire mingled in the crowd, unnoticed by the Armed Guards.
"So, I'll go north to find Conrad and Michelle. Claire, you go south to find Joseph and Kuhn, meet here in 15 minutes! Manfred said to Claire, then let go of Claire's hand and turned to run north.
Claire watched Manfred disappear into the sea of people, gritted her teeth, and ran to the south where Kuhn and Joseph were.
"Conrad! Michelle! Manfred, who ran to the end of the street, shouted out the names of his teammates around him, "Where are you?" Damn it, get out of here! ”
"Hey, hey!" The lanky Conrad nimbly drilled towards Manfred in the crowd, and behind him was the tall Michelle, "Captain, we're here!" ”
"There's a problem at the mall!" Manfred gave a brief explanation of the situation to the two of them, "More than 200 members of the Armed Guards have gathered at the entrance of the mall without realizing it, do you have any suspicious people here?" ”
"Someone who can do it?" Conrad wondered, "No, I didn't see any suspicious people." ”
Michelle also shook her head, indicating that she didn't see any suspicious people.
"Alright, no matter, let's go back and help the SS protect the mall." Manfrey and Conrad turned around and ran in the direction of the mall.
By the time they reached the mall, the Guards had already begun to attack, and they were pressing on the Jewish department store that the SS had defended, waving their sticks at everything inside.
The SS, led by their second lieutenant platoon commander, held rifles with bayonets and stubbornly resisted.
The number of casualties on both sides was surging, and there were constantly Armed Guards men falling under SS bayonets, or SS soldiers falling under batons swung at them from all sides.
"God! What's going on in Berlin now? An old woman standing next to Manfred looked at the chaos and said in amazement, "This is war!" ”
"I heard that the batons-wielding group were from the Social Democrats." A middle-aged man who pays more attention to politics expressed his opinion on the sidelines, "The reason for this smashing is because this store supports General Lyon's Popular Will Party, which has threatened the Social Democratic Party." ”
"It's just a bunch of hooligans!" Another member of the crowd who watched the excitement said indignantly, "General Lyon has brought us dignity so that we can rearm our army and defend our country, but what about this group of politicians? What did they do? ”
"Needless to say, I won't support the Social Democrats in the next general election, I think the German People's Party is good."
"I will not support the Social Democrats anymore, but I do think General Lyon's Popular Will Party is good."
"Yes! I also support General Lyon, I support the People's Will Party! The crowd began to talk about which party they supported, but almost everyone said they would no longer support the Social Democrats.
Manfred, who was on the sidelines, grinned when he heard what the crowd was talking about, Heilmann had really lost a lot of money this time, and his plan had not only failed to have the desired suppressive effect, but instead allowed a group of supporters loyal to the Social Democrats to support other parties instead.
"Manfred!" A man in the back patted Manfred.
Manfred turned around, and it was none other than Claire.
"What do we do now?" Claire asked Manfred, "I don't think the SS will last long." ”
"What else can I do?" Manfrey smiled, "Go straight on!" Beat them up! After saying that, he drew his bayonet and took the lead in throwing himself into the crowd in the melee.
"Platoon commander! Unstoppable! Let's withdraw! In the SS camp, a soldier with a blue nose and a swollen face said to his platoon commander with a slight cry.
"Hold on a little longer! Reinforcements should be coming soon! The platoon commander replied as he stabbed down a member of the Armed Guards.
"Platoon commander, after such a long time, I'm afraid there are no reinforcements." Another soldier slammed the butt of a rifle into a man who wanted to sneak up on him, said.
"Don't think about it! The general will definitely arrange for the nearest SS to come over! ...... more" Before the platoon commander's words fell, there was a shout of killing from behind the ranks of the Armed Guards, "Reinforcements!" God forbid! Reinforcements are coming! ”
When the soldiers heard this, they immediately cheered up as if they had been beaten with chicken blood.
On the other side, Manfred was leading the crowd into the camp of the Armed Guards, and the six of them quickly inflicted massive damage on the Guards, tearing a huge gap behind them. The men of the Armed Guards were stunned for a moment, but they quickly reacted, regained their position, and carefully looked at the enemy attacking from behind.
"Damn, my eyes are spent? How is it a group of teenagers? A member of the guard carrying a baton looked at Manfred and the others who were in the middle of the killing, rubbed his eyes, and said incredulously.
"It doesn't matter if they're teenagers or old people, get rid of them quickly!" Another member of the team pushed the talker, then rushed forward with a baton.
But how can a group of people who have only been trained for a short time be the opponent of this group of people who have played small training?
The six of them roughly formed a circle, covering each other's backs with their teammates, a bayonet seemed to turn into a scythe of death in their hands, and the members of the armed guards who tried to get close to them were quickly killed, either killed with a single sword, or quickly stabbed into serious injuries and incapacitated.
The SS troops on the other side could not see anyone, but could only hear the shouts of killing getting closer and closer to them, and they fought harder and harder. Under the attack from both sides, most of the armed guards who were originally black and oppressive were quickly eliminated, and the remaining dozens of people hurriedly threw away the batons in their hands and fled in all directions.
The SS men hurriedly began to capture the prisoners, while their platoon commander headed in the direction of the door, wanting to see which friendly unit had rescued him.
"What, why are you?!" The platoon commander walked over the wounded and corpses in one place, and saw people he had never expected, the group of "secret troops" that seemed to him to be a burden!
