The Eleventh Age, Xuanyuan Yellow Emperor Chapter 9 The Dawn of Civilization 1

First, Ning sealed pottery

The Yellow Emperor was a man of noble character and wisdom. He is also a person who is good at discovering and using talents. For the intelligent talents with outstanding talents, the Yellow Emperor always knows people and cherishes them. In order to manage and build the backward country well as soon as possible, the Yellow Emperor racked his brains and spent a lot of effort.

Whenever he encounters someone with outstanding talents, the Yellow Emperor will always be ashamed to ask questions and humbly ask for advice. Whenever he encounters a talented person who is disobedient to discipline, the Yellow Emperor is also kind and sincere. He always encouraged his subjects to be brave in innovation and to let the people of the Chinese nation live a better life as soon as possible.

One day, the Yellow Emperor and his ancestor went out to inspect the Quartet. They passed by a loess hill and saw a man named "Ning Feng" who was very talented. The Yellow Emperor found that Ning Feng was very fond of inventions and creations, especially when he played with mud.

That day, the Yellow Emperor watched as Ning Feng made some inconspicuous mud into various shapes in an instant. They are all empty in the middle, but they have different shapes, some are round, some are square, some are long, some are bulging in the middle, some are pointy at both ends, some have small bottoms and big mouths, some have large bottoms and small mouths, and all kinds of them are placed on the ground.

The Yellow Emperor was dazzled, he looked at these things made of mud, and asked puzzledly, "Ning Feng, what are you doing?" What is it used for? ”

Ning Feng said: "Yellow Emperor, these things I make are clay for making pottery. Once this is done, they are dried thoroughly and then burned in a fire. When they are burned and cooled, they become pottery. This kind of pottery is very convenient to use, and it is most suitable for our daily cooking and serving food. ”

When the Yellow Emperor heard this, he said happily: "Ning Feng, you are really amazing, I only know that there are people in the Yandi tribe who can make pottery, but I don't know that pottery is made in this way." I will now appoint you as the Minister for the Making of Pottery. I don't think you should do it here, just go to the capital city of Zhuolu and teach more people to do it. ”

The ancestor was also curious when she heard this, so she asked, "Ning Feng, you are really smart, how did you come up with this method of making pottery?" ”

Ning Feng said with a smile: "Ancestor, in fact, in the earliest days, I was also idle, and I played with mud as a pastime. At that time, I also pinched clay figures, pinched puppies, pinched rabbits, pinched old cows, pinched lambs, and everything.

Later, I found that after a long time, the mud dried naturally, and they were very strong when dried. However, I am afraid that it will rain suddenly, and every time they are soaked by the rain, they will turn into mud again. It's just that some of the gadgets I made very delicate and special looks, and they were destroyed by the rain, which made me feel very distressed. ”

The Yellow Emperor asked, "Ning Feng, how did you come up with the idea of firing them later?" ”

"Yellow Emperor, once, I snatched out a few damp mud blanks from the rain, and he wanted to dry them with fire, so he put them on burning wood and roasted them. However, after a short time the mud was hot, and it was too hot to hold it, and the mud fell into the fire. I simply added some dry wood to the fire and continued to grill for a long time.

It wasn't until the fire was extinguished and the mud had cooled down that I pulled it out of the ashes. I picked it up and looked at it, and oh! It's strange that those objects are heavier and stronger, and they don't deform when they are put in the water. I filled a few hollow objects with water for a day, and the water did not come out of them, nor did they soak the utensils, and I used them again to hold grain.

I've been inspired by it ever since. Since then, I've been making new things that I've invented myself. I still follow the original procedure, first air-drying the mud and then calcining the mud blanks. Then, this thing called "pottery" was obtained. Although the yield of the pottery is not high, there are still some gains to a greater or lesser extent, so I am very content. Hehehe! ”

After listening to Ning Feng, the Yellow Emperor said happily: "Ning Feng, today, let your wife help you sort out your things." Tomorrow, you will take your whole family back to the capital with us. ”

Second, the Yellow Emperor made a car

The next day, when the Yellow Emperor arrived, Ning Feng had already made some of the pottery he had made, and he was optimistic about a large pile. They include: ding, kettle, retort, bowl, dish and other daily life eating utensils.

The Yellow Emperor looked at those pottery supplies, he picked up a pottery bowl and said happily: "Oops! I've lived so long that I've seen this kind of good stuff. Ning Feng, you are also a pottery expert, and you are our 'first person in Chinese pottery'. ”

After the Yellow Emperor finished speaking, he put the pottery bowl on the ground, and there happened to be a small stone underneath, and the pottery bowl was unstable, and the bones rolled down the hillside. The Yellow Emperor chased and ran, and he ran to the bottom of the slope to catch up.

The Yellow Emperor chased after the pottery bowl and began to think that the weight of so many pottery in Ningfeng was not light, and it was not easy to transport it to the capital. It doesn't take much effort to roll the bowls, so why don't I build a kind of cart according to this principle, and it will be much easier to transport these pottery to the capital.

So the Yellow Emperor decided to leave in a few days. The ancestor asked him why?

The Yellow Emperor smiled and said mysteriously: "I have already thought of an idea, I want to build a car for everyone's convenience." ”

"The car? What is a car? ”

The Yellow Emperor pulled up his ancestor and said, "Go, follow me to the mountain." ”

The Yellow Emperor and his concubine went to the mountain and cut down a big tree and a few small trees. They borrowed some tools from Ning Feng and began to work. I saw that the Yellow Emperor first cut off a thick and round wooden pier as a "wheel", and then he passed a strong thin log from the middle of the wooden pier as a "Xuanyuan".

Then, the Yellow Emperor untied the tree, and he made a cart frame out of wood. Finally, they squatted the tray rack on the wheels. After several modifications, a wheelbarrow was ready.

After the car was ready, the Yellow Emperor happily pushed the car around everyone. Then, he asked Ning Feng to carry the pottery items to the car. Ning Feng also pushed the car around and thought it was okay.

Ning Feng said happily: "Yellow Emperor, I was still worried when I looked at the pile of items a few days ago, but now with this car, everything will be easy." ”

The Yellow Emperor also happily greeted everyone: "That's it, let's go so far to the capital, it will take a few days to reach it on foot on two legs." When we came, the soles of our feet were worn out. It's even more tiring to carry heavy loads. Now, it's much easier for us to walk with the cart pushing things. Are you ready, kids? Let's go? ”

Third, Shi Huang painted

One day, the Yellow Emperor went out for business, and he saw that he was not far from the palace gate, and he didn't know who had painted some scenes on the ground. The Yellow Emperor looked at it carefully, and his eyes lit up, and he couldn't help but admire in his heart.

It turned out to be a landscape painting, and there was a big mountain, a small river, trees, some adults and children, chickens and ducks walking on two legs, and a dog walking on four legs.

The Yellow Emperor was happy when he saw it, and said in his heart: Who is so talented that he can paint so vividly and vividly. So, the Yellow Emperor sent someone to ask. When he asked, he realized that it was painted by a person named "Emperor Shi".

The Yellow Emperor also passed on Emperor Shi to come to see him, Emperor Shi was an honest ordinary person, and when he heard that the Yellow Emperor had passed on him, he was already scared to death. It wasn't until the Yellow Emperor passed him twice that he came to see the Yellow Emperor with trepidation.

The Yellow Emperor said: "Emperor Shi, these are what you painted?" ”

"Hmm!" Emperor Shi seemed to have done something wrong, he didn't dare to look at the Yellow Emperor squarely, he just bowed his head and responded.

The Yellow Emperor said again: "Emperor Shi, raise your head and talk back." ”

Only then did Emperor Shi raise his head and look at the Yellow Emperor in a daze.

"You painted these paintings? That's right, it's very clear at first glance. What is this drawing? That's good! The Yellow Emperor was full of praise.

"Emperor Shi, tell me how you fell in love with painting." In order to ease Emperor Shi's emotions, the Yellow Emperor said with a pleasant face.

"Huang, Yellow Emperor! When I was very young, I often went out to graze with adults, and I played while the adults watched the cattle and sheep. In the early morning, I watched the sun rise over the mountain, so I drew a big mountain on the ground and drew a sun.

When I turned around, I saw adults grazing by the mountains and sheep grazing by the river, so I drew an adult, a flock of white sheep. In the evening, I saw the sun sinking in the west, the sky full of red clouds, and the setting sun slanting on the river. I'll draw a sun, a few clouds, and a sparkling river.

Maybe that's when I fell in love with drawing. From then on, wherever I went, I painted whatever I saw. I don't like to draw, but I still like to paint, because I get itchy when I don't draw for a day. That's why today, I have the courage to paint this one of my favorite paintings here. ”

When the Yellow Emperor saw that Emperor Shi finished speaking, he was also happy. The Yellow Emperor said: "Emperor Shi, you see that you are so talented, why should you be so scared? I won't punish you. On the contrary, I would like to thank you.

Emperor Shi, after reading your painting, I know that people can not only know how to eat and sleep, but also have hobbies, and make the lives of ordinary people more exciting and happier. It's good that you have such a hobby, I think you should make a career out of your hobby. From now on, you will be our professional painter, and you will often paint to entertain everyone. ”

After listening to the praise of the Yellow Emperor, Emperor Shi finally smiled. He said happily: "I am very excited that Emperor Shi can get the grace of the Yellow Emperor. In the future, I will definitely live up to expectations and strive to create the best paintings to entertain everyone and pay tribute to the Yellow Emperor. ”

The Yellow Emperor said: "That's right! Shi Huang, but I have another suggestion. Later, when you draw on the wall, on the rock, or on the trunk of a tree, you might as well use the ashes of our burnt wooden sticks, which may be clearer. ”

Since then, by observing the people and things around him, Emperor Shi has successively painted many portraits of flowers, insects, fish, birds, dragons, turtles, animals, people, etc., and has continued to draw many beautiful pictures such as scenery and nature. His paintings became more and more realistic, and therefore won the praise of the Yellow Emperor and the popularity of the general public.

Fourth, Yi Mu is a crossbow

The Yellow Emperor's minister, Yi Mou, was a good hunter who sharpened his head with a thin bamboo pole or small wooden stick and threw it to hunt his prey. He hunts like this, has a high hit rate, and often returns with a full load, which is very well received by everyone.

When the Yellow Emperor heard about it, he asked Yi Mu to improve his invention. Later, after several studies, Yimu transformed these pointed bamboo poles and thin wooden sticks into arrows for "bow crossbows".

And Yi Mu's good friend "Wave" is also a very smart person, and his job is to be responsible for slaughtering the animals he hunts. When he was slaughtering, he saw that the fur of the animals was both hard and tough, and he thought that they must be useful.

So, he tried to make a bow and crossbow out of bamboo and animal tendons that were also quite flexible, and the arrows invented by Yi Mu were paired with the bow and crossbow invented by Wai, and they became the best partners. After wielding the bow and crossbow, he gave it to his best friend Yimu, who took the bow and arrow to hunt.

On this day, Yimu found a tiger deep in the mountains. The tiger's skin is so thick, if it had been before, there would have been no way to hold it. Because no matter how good Yimu's arrows are, they won't hurt the tiger's hair, let alone kill the tiger, maybe it's good if he doesn't get eaten by the tiger.

But this time it's different, Yimu has a bow and arrow in his hand, and I saw him stretching his bow and arrows, swishing! Three arrows were fired, and the tiger fell to the ground and struggled. After a while, the tiger passed out.

Yi Mu was afraid that the tiger would hurt himself when he woke up, so he went up and made up for three more arrows. Seeing that the tiger was motionless, Yi Mu called someone to carry the tiger home. Since then, Yimu's reputation has been shocked.

Fifth, Yongfu Chung Valley

With the continuous development of agricultural production, food crops often receive large harvests. However, grains such as rice, wheat, and millet that contain chaff are difficult to swallow even if they are cooked and eaten with the skin on.

However, cereal peeling is not easy to do. Although everyone can eat a full meal, they still live a life of eating bran vegetables all day long. There are some complaints about this situation. The Yellow Emperor weighed the suffering of the people, and he asked the minister "Yongfu", who was in charge of the grain, to find a solution.

When Yong's father received the task, he immediately went to the people. Once, Yongfu saw people holding two stones and rubbing the grain back and forth in the middle, which could also break the chaff. You can also remove the chaff by blowing it with your mouth and lifting it with your hands.

Yong's father tried to do it, but it took a lot of effort to get out of the little chaff, and he felt that this method was not usable. There was no way, so Yong's father continued to go deep into the folk investigation and study.

On this day, Yongfu saw a group of people in front of a mountain, who were placing grain in a small naturally formed stone nest and beating it with branches. When Yong's father saw that there was something wrong with such a beating, he went to the mountains to find a long stone with a thick end and a sharp end, and he struck the grain with the stone, which soon caused the chaff to fall off.

When everyone saw that Father Yong was getting rid of the grain quickly and well, they all learned from him, and each of them found a stone and found a stone nest to knock on the grain, which was indeed much stronger than before.

Later, after many studies, Yong's father made something like a stone nest out of stone, which he called "stone mortar". When he saw that there were no stones to beat the grain, he made some "wooden pestles" out of thick wood in the shape of the stones for people to use.

Through the efforts of Yong's father, the wooden pestle and stone mortar used for Chung Mi were finally manufactured. With the widespread use of wooden pestles and stone mortars, they also quickly became a necessity in people's daily life.

Sixth, work together to build a boat

"Gonggu" and "Hudi" were good friends, and they were both ministers appointed by the Yellow Emperor to manage water transportation. Sometimes, there are items that need to be transported through the river, and that's when they need to find a way to solve it.

Later, the two discovered that both wood and bamboo poles could float on the water. So, they tied the wooden poles and bamboo poles together with ropes, and finally made wooden rafts or bamboo rafts that could float on the water.

Wooden or bamboo rafts alone cannot be used because they will drift away with the running water. So, Gonggu and Goudi put two flat sticks on the raft, which they called 'paddles'.

These two paddles can be very useful, as they are used to orient the raft and to stabilize the raft from being swept away by the running water. Such bamboo and wooden rafts were the first boats in the world.

The two of them built a small boat, loaded the goods on it, and then, with their oars, quickly transported the goods to the other side. Later, they saw that there were very few goods in the wooden and bamboo rafts. So, through repeated research and cooperation, they finally built a larger boat that could be transported on the water.

Seventh, Wang Bing's horse

The minister "Wang Bing" was the minister appointed by the Yellow Emperor to manage cattle and horses. After Li Mu and Fenghou made a guide cart, the Yellow Emperor guided them to make some Xuanyuan carts with two wheels on the basis of small carts.

In the beginning, such a Xuanyuan car needed several people to pull it. Because the car itself is very bulky, and the weight of the items is even heavier. Everyone pulls up such a big car, and it won't take long to get tired and sweaty.

Wang Bing looked at the cattle and horses he managed, they were fat and strong one by one, and they were all naked. Wang Bing thought, these cattle and horses just eat grass and don't do things, wouldn't it be a pity that they are fat, and they have to let the cattle and horses have their own use.

Wang Bing thought about it, and he finally came up with a way. He thought: Especially if you use manpower to pull this Xuanyuan cart, it is better to let the cows and horses replace it. Wouldn't it be easier to use them to pull carts? This frees up more manpower to do other things.

So, Wang Bing went to see the Yellow Emperor, Li Mu and Fenghou, and asked them for advice on how to make a car, and later, after repeated thinking, he finally invented the tool to drive the oxen and horses.

Eighth, Wu Xian asked

Since there are many things in nature that people cannot predict and understand, people do not understand the mystery between them. So, the Yellow Emperor ordered the minister "Wu Xian" to give everyone guidance.

Wu Xian seems to be a very powerful person, and he can use special divine powers to explain the laws of connection between heaven and earth. He is also good at making spiritual baskets to divinate people's fate, and he is good at judging the elusive good fortune and evil fortune in the world with the content of the spiritual baskets.

This greatly appealed to the curiosity of the people, and from then on, they worshipped such witches as gods, and people were very religiously willing to accept this method of divination.

People hope that through Wu Xian's prediction and guidance, they can get some good enlightenment, so as to promote the early realization of their wishes. Because nothing is more important than the safety and happiness of your family, praying for good fortune has become a common wish for everyone.
