Chapter 2 Daiki Park

Autumn 2020. Pingyu County, west of the city, Daxi Park, gate.

"Luo Jie, most of the parks in Pingyu are named after people. I know things like Chenfan Park, Tairen Park, and Xizhong Park. What is the origin of this Daiki Park? Zhang Motian: "Who is Daxi?" ”

"You've been in Pingyu County for five or six years, and you're an old fritter on Pingyu Street, don't you know this?" I sneered: "Let's not talk about who Daxi is, if you look at the three people in the statue, one of them doesn't look like Feng Laonong?" A portrait that doesn't look like me? The leader in the middle doesn't look like Yang Kexing? ”

"Hey, I didn't care about it at first, but after you said this, it's really quite similar!"

"That is, I'll tell you about it slowly when I'm free. Let's go, find a restaurant, and tell you who Daxi is first! I laughed.

Daxi Park is a park named after Chen Daxi. Just as Chen Fan Park is named after Chen Fan. Three people on the statue at the entrance to Daiki Park. They are Chen Daxi, Chen Wen (Chen Daxi's younger brother), and Luo Jie (nicknamed Lao Camel). This Chen Daxi was born in 1829, that is, the ninth year of Daoguang. The table word Taihe, Ruyang County (now Runan County) Pingyu Street Chenjiazhai people (now called Laoweizi Village). When I was a child, I read books, and when I was a little older, I worshipped the Jianghu artist "Lao Taishan" as a teacher, learned some Jianghu guns, and made a living by performing in the border counties of Henan Province and Anhui Province.

At this point, let's put it aside for the time being. Let's start with two other groups. These two people changed the fate of Chen Daxi, and even half of China.

The first group of people: Hong Xiuquan of Huaxian County, Guangdong Province, southern China, after many imperial examinations were landed, in 1844 (the twenty-third year of Daoguang), he studied and studied Christianity with Feng Yunshan and Hong Renji, took its teachings, created his own "God Worship Religion", and preached everywhere to recruit congregations. In 1847, in the school of Guanlubu Village, Huaxian County, Guangdong Province, Hong Xiuquan, who was a teacher at the time, finally completed the three articles of "Yuan Dao Jue Shi Xun", "Yuan Dao Xing Shi Xun" and "Yuan Dao Salvation Song", thus laying the theoretical foundation of "God Worship Religion". In 1850, Hong Xiuquan issued a camp order, ordering tens of thousands of congregations to assemble in Jinguo Village, Guangxi. At the end of the same year, together with Yang Xiuqing, Xiao Chaogui, Feng Yunshan, Wei Changhui, Shi Dakai and others, he launched an armed uprising against the Manchu court in Jintian Village, Guangxi. Thus, the curtain of the 19-year-long "Taiping Rebellion" began.

Because the Qing Dynasty promoted shaving hair and making it easy to wear, and the rebel army in Taiping Tianwen did not shave their hair or braid, they showed people with a cape, so the Taiping army was also called "long hair". The Qing Dynasty called it "long-haired thief", "hairy thief", "hair thief", "hair rebel" and so on. The Taiping army called the Qing court "Qing Demon" and so on.

On New Year's Day in 1851, Hong Xiuquan swore an uprising in Jintian Village and promulgated military discipline, in which a women's battalion was established, that is, the armed forces organized by women charged into battle, and those who had meritorious service could also be promoted. Since then, the world's first special unit organized by women was born, and at its peak, there were about 100,000 people. At the same time, the Taiping army defeated the Qing army that came to suppress it in Jintian Village, Guangxi, and won the first battle. On March 23, Hong Xiuquan ascended the throne in Wuxuan Township, Guangxi, and was called the King of Taiping, and later changed his name to the King of Heaven.

In December 1851, the Taiping army divided the kings in Yong'an Prefecture (now Mengshan County) in Guangxi Province: Yang Xiuqing was named the "Zuofu Zhengjun Division" Dongwang, called 9,000 years old. Xiao Chaogui is the "Right Bi and Zhengjun Division" King of the West, called 8,000 years old. Feng Yunshan is the "leading deputy military division" Nanwang, known as 7,000 years old. Wei Changhui is the "rear guard and deputy military division" of the North King, called 6,000 years old. Shi Dakai became the king of wings, and ordered all kings to be controlled by the king of the east.

The second group of people: North of the Yangtze River in China, such a group of people are active in parts of northern Anhui, Jiangsu, Shandong, and Henan provinces. In the Anhui dialect, one and one are called "one twist". Small twists are generally a few or dozens, and large twists are generally one or two hundred. "Twists" have a history of more than 100 years, and the earliest ones were some rebellious peasants who ate big households. When they were poor and short of things, they organized groups to go outside to rob them, and when they had enough of them, they disbanded and went back to continue to be farmers. During the Qing Dynasty, farmers and handicraftsmen (laborers, small craftsmen and other poor people) in Bozhou, Fuyang, Jiangsu, Henan, and Shandong in Anhui Province often sold illicit salt, intimidated money, and extorted money together in order to make a living. Later, it continued to grow and even cooperated with the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom to launch an uprising. After the uprising, it was also known as the "Twist Army", and later became an important peasant uprising armed force second only to the Taiping Army, and it was also the largest peasant rebel army after the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom. It was called "twist bandit" by the Qing Dynasty.

In the first year of Xianfeng in the Qing Dynasty (1851), the twisters gathered people in Nanyang, Nanzhao, Tang County (now Tang River) and other places in southern Henan to openly rebel against the Qing government. Among the twists, the financial advocate Le Xing (also known as Zhang Luoxing, nicknamed Zhang Laole, and Qing Yan was called Zhang Luoxing) in Bozhou, Anhui Province (now Zhang Laojia's house) in Bozhou, Anhui Province (now Zhang's hometown) was the leader.

Why did so many people revolt under the rule of the Qing Dynasty? Corrupt feudal rule and heavy exploitation led to the intensification of class contradictions. After the Duck War, Qing Zhengfu stepped up the looting of the people in order to pay war reparations. Ruling is more corrupt. Corrupt officials and local tyrants and gentry also took the opportunity to extort the people. The toiling masses, who could not bear the suffering, revolted. From 1846 to 1850, the two regions were already barren and poor, and natural disasters such as floods, droughts, and insects continued, and the vast number of working people fell into the predicament of starvation and death.

And by coincidence, Chen Daxi met his starting master, and thus started Chen Daxi's life of anti-Qing and anti-oppression!
