Chapter 84: The True Lie (1)
The Headmaster's office at Hogwarts was silent, and no one spoke.
In fact, even the portraits of past principals on the wall were stunned by this astonishing truth.
It wasn't until a hoarse voice reached everyone's ears that the silence was broken.
"So, Carl, I'm your true father. Voldemort said silently as he looked at Karl.
In an instant, a ball of blue flame enveloped Voldemort, or Quirrell, who screamed in pain.
But strangely, from the outside, the flame did not cause him any harm.
"You can say it again. Grindelwald raised his wand in his hand and stared at Voldemort coldly.
Voldemort also had pain on his face, and it was clear that Grindelwald's magic wasn't just torturing Quirrell.
However, Voldemort's gaze was surprisingly calm.
He looked at Grindelwald calmly, as if Quirrell's screams didn't exist in the back of his head.
"I am the one who gave him life. β
Hearing this, Grindelwald's gaze became a little colder again, and he twitched his wand, and the flames around Voldemort soared, instantly engulfing Quirrell's entire body.
"Ahh
"Don't move, idiot." Voldemort reprimanded, his face looming in the flames, as hideous as a demon.
Suddenly, he closed his eyes, and when he opened them again, the hideous expression on his face was gone.
Also disappearing was Quirrell's scream.
Carl could clearly see that Voldemort had seized control of Quirrell's body.
With a wave of the wand that originally belonged to Quirrell, the blue flames surrounding his body instantly weakened a lot, but the rest of it still burned tenaciously on his body.
"An unbreakable oath hidden in a fiery spell. Voldemort looked at the blue flames around his body, his crimson eyes flashing with a strange light, "It's amazing!"
As he spoke, he looked at Grindelwald, "I have adored you, but now it seems that nothing more than that!"
Grindelwald's eyes lit up, and he waved his wand again, and the flames that had been suppressed by Voldemort exploded again.
Faintly, Quirrell's body, controlled by Voldemort, began to show cracks, and blue flames erupted from the cracks.
"Stop, Gellert, you're freeing him. Dumbledore grabbed Grindelwald's wrist.
At this moment, Voldemort stretched out his arm from the flames and pointed at Karl, "Carl, my child, come with me, and I will take you out of here!"
"Dream your dreams!" Grindelwald shouted, slamming Dumbledore away and raising his hand to a green light.
But before he could hit Voldemort, he was blocked by Dumbledore first.
I saw that a piece of armor in the headmaster's office suddenly came to life, blocked in front of Voldemort, and ate the killing curse in its entirety, and was blown to pieces in an instant.
"Remove your weapons!" Dumbledore said the incantation aloud, and the wand in Grindelwald's hand could not hold it again, and flew into Dumbledore's hand.
After doing all this, Dumbledore immediately turned back to Voldemort and said, "Tom, as long as you're in this office, you're not going anywhere." β
"Yes, yes, of course I can't go anywhere without the principal's consent. β
Voldemort nodded, then pointed at Karl with a sinister grin.
"However, this boy owes me a philosopher's stone, so for now, either let him go with me or give me the philosopher's stone. β
With that, he looked at Carl, his eyes shining with a strange brilliance, "Carl, my child, don't forget the oath between us, as long as you come with me, I can break that agreement!"
With that, he looked back at Dumbledore, "The Philosopher's Stone, or this boy, Dumbledore, you choose." β
Then he looked at Grindelwald and grinned, "Of course, you can kill this fool I possessed right now." β
"But this boy, he will always owe me a philosopher's stone, you know what that means. β
Now, even Grindelwald didn't dare to act rashly.
"What does that mean?" Karl asked curiously.
Grindelwald glared at him fiercely, "You're too embarrassed to ask, boy, it's all your good deeds! That meansβ"
That means that your soul will forever be branded with him, and over time you will become his slave once and for allβthe punishment of an unbreakable oath for those who delay in fulfilling it. Dumbledore said.
He didn't look at Carl, but at Grindelwald, "Gellert, you really shouldn't have escaped from Newmengard, you shouldn't." β
"It's all a good thing this kid did, why do you blame me?" Grindelwald looked at Dumbledore angrily.
"He's just a kid, aren't you?" Dumbledore said, almost snarling.
Grindelwald stopped talking.
With some apologies, Dumbledore looked at Karl, "Cal, I'm sorryβ"
"Dumbledore, you dare!" Grindelwald couldn't care about anything else, and for a moment, his eyes were red, and an indescribable murderous aura emanated from his body, and the temperature in the room dropped below freezing in an instant.
"If you dare to let this kid die, I'll kill all Hogwarts tomorrow!"
However, Dumbledore ignored him, and he still looked at Karl with extremely mixed emotions in his eyes.
There are sighs, there are apologies, there are gloom, but there are no complaints.
"Carl, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been out of school for so long, or you wouldn't have been fooled by Tom-"
"Dumbledore, you-" Grindelwald roared frantically, his furious magic nearly toppling the Headmaster's office.
However, Dumbledore's voice overshadowed him, "Now, my child, take the Philosopher's Stone on the table and give it to him." β
After saying this, all the strength in the old man's body seemed to be drained.
As soon as the words fell, the office fell silent again, and all eyes were on Carl.
After a long silence, Karl picked up the Philosopher's Stone from the table, walked over to Voldemort, and slowly handed his hand out.
At such a close distance, the expression on Voldemort's face was vividly displayed in his eyes, as if his face had changed, sometimes calm, sometimes hideous.
Calm is looking at him, and Hideous is looking at the Philosopher's Stone in his hand.
As Karl brought the Philosopher's Stone closer and closer, the expression on Voldemort's face began to grow more and more hideous.
When Carl reached halfway up, a look of realization suddenly appeared on his face.
The half-outstretched hand just stopped.
Seeing this, Voldemort couldn't help but reach out to grab it, and Carl quickly retracted his hand.
He looked at Voldemort with an embarrassed expression.
"That...... It occurred to me that I seemed to have lied when we made our vows. β
