Chapter 089: The Three Religions Coexist in Cao'e Temple
A few months have passed in the blink of an eye, and great changes have taken place on the south mountain of the Liang family.
Halfway up the mountainside stands a very large courtyard, in which there are four grand halls facing north and south. At the front is the Hall of Filial Piety, which is dedicated to Cao E and her parents. Behind the main hall, there are two treasure halls on the left and right, the east is the Sanqing Palace, which enshrines the Yuqing Primitive Tianzun, the Shangqing Lingbao Tianzun, and the Taiqing Daode Tianzun, that is, the Taishang Laojun. On the west side is a Buddhist Daxiong Treasure Hall, which enshrines the Buddha statue of the master Shakyamuni, and on both sides stands the Venerable Kasa Ye and the Venerable Ananda, and the statues of the eighteen Arhats are also enshrined on both sides of the main hall.
In the northernmost part, the temple of Confucius is the temple of Confucius, and the portraits of Yan Hui, Zeng Shen, Meng Ke and others are on both sides.
Although the four halls are magnificent, they only occupy less than one-fifth of the total area of the compound. The rest is square. In this vacant place, Liang Shanbo neither planted flowers nor trees, but let people clean up and level, ram the earth, and only said that it would be of great use when the time came.
In addition to building a temple on the mountain, Liang Shanbo also took advantage of the dry season of the Cao'e River to organize people to build a stone bridge across both sides of the Cao'e River, connecting the county seat and Nanshan. The bridge has seven holes, which do not affect shipping in any way. There is a sluice gate above, which can prevent flooding on the upper part and moisture on the bottom.
Because this bridge was built by Liang Shanbo, people call it Liangjia Bridge.
With Liangjiaqiao, good men and women who come to worship God can directly reach Nanshan from the county seat. With the bridge, the ferry is useless. But the ferryman couldn't do without work, so Liang Shanbo asked them to be responsible for guarding and maintaining the Liangjia Bridge, and by the way, he guided the way for the people who came to make incense and make vows.
In March, the spring breeze is warm, the flowers are in full bloom, and the banks of the Cao'e River are already lush.
At this time, people in various places in Huiji County are talking about one thing, that is, the Cao'e temple fair that will be resumed on May 15.
Shangyu County originally had the tradition of holding a temple fair, which was to commemorate the tide god Wu Zixu. Cao E's father's name is Cao Xu, who can sing according to the festival and play music. In order to welcome Wu Jun, he went against the tide on the river, and unfortunately fell into the river and died. Of course, now that there is Liangjiaqiao, the tide downstream will not come up, and there will be no more such human tragedy.
In order to commemorate the filial piety of the maiden, people hold a huge temple fair, from May 15 to May 22. Later, the Cao'e Temple was washed away by floods, and the temple fair was no longer interested.
People look forward to the reopening of the Cao'e temple fair, not only because they can worship the gods, but also because of the variety of lively activities at the fair, as well as the ability to buy cheap goods and delicious food.
The news was spread by Liang Shanbo. In order to prepare for this temple fair, Liang Shanbo planned in advance and made sufficient preparations.
People come to the temple fair, first of all, to worship the gods and pray for blessings. Fortunately, in addition to filial piety, there are Buddhist and Taoist gods and Confucian saints on Nanshan. But when so many people visit the shrine, someone has to receive them and someone to maintain order.
The Daxiong Treasure Hall of Buddhism was taken over by the master of the Ninth Sister, Ziyun Shitai, and many of her own disciples helped her take care of it.
The Sanqing Hall was taken over by the disciples of Ge Xian Weng. Immortal Weng was busy writing books and alchemy, flawless and distracted, mainly taken over by Song Lian.
The temple of Confucius in the north was handed over to Wang Shiyu, Liang Shanbo's mentor. This also reminded Liang Shanbo again that he was still a Confucian scholar.
