Chapter 8: "Fake" Finn
A puff of dust approached the front of Chahe Town, and the ensuing sound of horses' hooves came to an abrupt end, and Finn leaped lightly from his horse.
He had just passed by the laundry and the farmer's area outside the town, and the sight made his brow tighten and tighten. Most of the residents outside the town stood stunned, unresponsive to the bodies of their relatives, friends and neighbors who had been mysteriously killed. Some of the beasts wandered around the edge of the field in a daze, and were swallowed up by the rising shadows.
Finn was now standing on the pavement next to the shrine in front of the town, rubbing the thumb and forefinger of his right hand vigorously, and looking into the town from afar, rather than stepping into the town. Because he knew that secret events created through secret rituals often had three margins of effect.
The first layer is the event home, which is the event center. A covert event is not "officially started" until all those involved in the event are complete - and for those who want to contain and interrupt the event, it is already the equivalent of declaring the end. After the event "officially begins", it is difficult to interrupt the course of the event at a price of a hundred thousand times the price of holding the ceremony, and to have a thousand times the power of the person who held the ceremony, and can only watch it develop to the completion of its original purpose.
Of course, the source energy distortion in the main area of the event is also the most serious, whether it is the strange phenomenon caused, whether it is a monster born from the old gods or a monster sent by the outer gods, it is also the most incomprehensible and extremely powerful reality interference.
Originally, finding out where the home of the hidden event was and who was going to host the ceremony was the first task for people like Fein who wanted to interrupt the further development of the event from the outside.
But at this moment, Finn is not a secret ritual expert who has been commissioned to investigate and stop the secret incident, but the victim who is suddenly involved in the incident with two apprentices on their way home!
The second layer of action is often the towns and villages where the main field of the event is located - hidden events almost always only occur in places where humans gather, even if it is a tribal settlement of only two or three hundred people, or a small village of four or five hundred people. Graveyards, wilderness, secret realms, dangerous places and other uninhabited areas are mostly home to ghosts or monsters - in the second layer of hidden events, there are more passers-by who are accidentally affected.
But the mental attacks inflicted on passers-by are also very powerful. If they fail to resist, they will also fall into a controlled state of confusion, hypnosis, coma, paralysis, harm to others, and even sudden self-harm. Either become part of the event, or make way for the "official start" of the event.
Now, the shrine on Finn's side stood on a low wall, and the low wall that surrounded the town was almost leapable over in a leap, but it was also the general judgment of the people living in the local area about the inside and outside of the town. This is also the dividing line between the scope of action of the second and third layers. The more he took half a step towards the inside of the south gate, which had no doorless door, would be more affected by the covert events.
It's really self-defeating! After Fian figured out his rescue strategy, he couldn't help but get a little angry with himself. I have been using my ability to hold my breath so that I can't be detected by others, but I didn't expect to be affected by the third-layer secret event in the wide area. Although the scope and intensity of this was far beyond the average situation, he should not be fooled and put the two apprentices in danger.
He looked up and stared at the crows hovering in the distance. In the blink of an eye, Finn's subjective point of view was already overlooking the town of Cha River. He flapped his wings and flew down the avenue toward the center of town.
The dense forests and mountains leading to the southwest from the south of Chahe Town are all the same greenery except for the two major lakes along the way. The south gate is the main entrance for farmers, fishermen, hunters and small traders, and stalls of various kinds without the permission of the town clerk's office are scattered along the roadside, and both sides are lined with low tiled houses or log huts that are not covered by canals.
Naturally, it is impossible to use the hidden power on these poor people who are precarious, and although the guards of the city defense team of Chahe Town are still dutiful, it is impossible to use too much energy to take care of the poor people who use their knives from time to time due to quarrels.
Finn continued to fly along the avenue that ran through the town, raising the crow's view, past the coal kilns and workshops where the eastern river passed, over the bazaars legally opened with the permission of the lord, to the central square where the town council, the courtroom, the clerk's office, the church, and the bell tower were.
I saw a figure on the top floor of the bell tower, flickering in the firelight. From a distance, all you can see is this man with ice-blue hair in a shawl, as if he is guarding the staircase and fighting something.
Is it Helena? Yes, it's kind of like what she would do. Ascending to the height, you can have a glimpse of the surrounding situation, the town's simple bell tower, the upper and lower stairs are extremely narrow, only able to accommodate one person in and out, buffering the bad situation of being alone in distress.
However, demons are not human.
As Finn thought so, a dark figure leaped up from the outer wall of the bell tower, stretched out its sickle-like arms, and was about to wave at Helena.
In a flash, the body of the little crow has rushed towards the bell tower like an arrow!
The sound of pecking through the red bricks startled Helena, and she used a spell to blast the black shadow giant in front of her and several monsters behind her. She had to look sideways at where the sound came from, and saw a crow rushing straight into the red brick.
She felt the blood flowing backwards all over her body as cold: behind the crow, a huge black shadow swung a huge scythe that was enough to cut off the bell tower and her waist. The scythe is already close!
Poof. The raven's flesh was crushed, and the seeds in its body suddenly grew into a thick trunk that slammed out of the wall.
Helena saw that the scythe had eaten deep into the trunk of the tree, cutting off the trunk that had suddenly grown thicker than her waist. However, the scythe's attack was almost completely defused by the trunk, and when it landed on the outer wall of the bell tower, it could barely scratch off a little white paint.
"This is [the return of life]... Druid's Tier2 Spells... But it seems a little too powerful?"
As soon as doubts rose in Helena's heart, she immediately realized that it was her master who was using the power of [fake] to save her from the brink of life and death.
"But where is Master!?"
Her questions were quickly answered.
As if in response to this ability, the green light of the Rotten Moon seemed to reflect brighter everywhere it spread. Before the light passed, the sea of shadows intertwined with those shadows set off a terrifying wave of shadows, heading straight towards the south gate.
Helena was so frightened that she crouched down, daring to poke out a little bit of her head, and watched the flood of shadows pass by her.
Outside the "south gate" of Chahe Town, which was not covered by a door, Finn was adjusting to take a deep breath. He had more than ten means to deal with the waves of shadow that were coming at him, but once again the situation was beyond his imagination - in order to save Helena, he had to break the rules of dealing with hidden events, and directly touched the main field of events without full preparation, and even borrowed his ability to cast spells to invade the stance.
Most of the forces of the Rotten Moon regarded Finn as the enemy with the highest priority at this time, and did everything they could to eliminate him!
Russia, the red moon shines brightly, and the scarlet light is pressed towards Chahe Town.
Finn resisted the attack of this burst of light, but he couldn't help but be stunned. The black shadow like a monstrous wave had disappeared at this time.
After a moment's thought, he hurried into the town and ran towards Helena's bell tower.
