Chapter 32: What Started by Whom?
After Charlotte left, Ofeicher walked through the door of Finn's office.
Inside, the scenery was still the same as he had seen when he woke up from a comaβ
A desk leaned against a small window, shelves full of miscellaneous items and manuscripts occupied an entire wall that was not lighted, and strange equipment was piled up in front of the passage into the inner chamber, and beside the equipment was a large pile of bulging burlap bags.
What separates chaos and order in the room is a coffee table in the middle of the room and two wooden sofas standing opposite each other. It's as if there's some kind of rule in the room: the area between the coffee table and the small window must be kept tidy, and the other side of the room should be ignored at all.
"Eventually, you're here. β
Finn was wearing a white shirt, the linen rope on his chest seemed to be a little over-tied, and his full muscles were visible under the slightly tight dress.
He handed Ofiicher a cup of flower tea, and instead of sitting down opposite Ofiicher, he still stood up straight, looking at the visitor in general.
Ofiecher took the tea: "Honestly, if I had a choice, I wouldn't be very willing to talk to the person who drugged me. β
"Is it your state of mind that has changed, or is there something that keeps you from having a choice?" Finn asked as he saw Ophiecher drink most of his cup of flower tea.
"It's more than just one thing. I think I can pick two things to talk about. Ofeichher paused, "The church approached me for inquiries. The person who asked the question was a church counselor named Ramiro. β
"That somewhat capable but careless Ramiro? Did he get the truth from you that you had extracted Charlotte's bloodline factor directly from her. β
Ofiicher looked at the door a little nervously: "Aren't you worried that the partition wall has ears? β
"Don't worry, it's different. Now there is no one on the stairs there, sitting motionless and listening to us. β
Seeing Ofeyche's embarrassment, Finn shook his head and continued, "I'll tell you something you didn't know. Through cultivation or ingestion, people can obtain extraordinary power for themselves, and in essence, they can also add some more strength to themselves by mobilizing the source qi, as well as obtain some means and abilities that ordinary people cannot do.
"But in terms of perception, people who have attained extraordinary powers are not much better than ordinary people. Either they need to obtain temporary specialization and enhancement with the help of objects, runes, or rituals made of supernatural matter, or they can cease to be human and become demons and monsters.
"What do you think that means?"
Isn't this guy born to like to teach people, and he has to think about everything. Ofeicher was a little speechless, and made a simple deduction along the other party's train of thought.
He speculated, "I guess everybody will try to fill in the gaps in perception?"
"Think further. That is, everyone will set up some anti-detection protection means to a greater or lesser extent. At the same time, it also shows that intentional eavesdropping and snooping are likely to be known by the other party, and even attacked by preset means.
"You're glad I don't have those preset protections here. It's better not to do similar things in the future. β
I really don't know if in this world, if a thief is injured and disabled by a preset trap during burglary, he can get a large amount of compensation in return. Ofiicher complained in his heart again, even if there was no supernatural power, he didn't see everyone burying mines in their windows to prevent thieves.
"Is there a means to know exactly what the other is trying to do? If anyone hesitates at the door for a long time just out of atmosphere or politeness, will he be attacked?" Ophiecher wondered, "and how did Mr. Fain know that I had been at the door for a long time?"
"We're too far off the mark. Finn shook his head again, "Did you tell Ramiro everything?"
Orfeuichher also denied: "Mr. Finn, this is the point that I have to ask you for help todayβI have too many questions to be answered. Well, I'll tell you the answer to your question first. Ramiro finally believes that the disappearance of the bloodline ability in the young lady's body is due to the efforts of the young lady herself. β
He told Fein what he had told Ramiro and what he had fabricated from the history of the Goslar family.
The parchment that could make the lie disappear, and the bloodline ability that Ofiicher had acquired from Charlotte, were temporarily withheld by him.
Finn's eyes lit up and he sat down on the wooden couch: "That's a good explanation. There have been such rumors in the history of the Goslar family, and although it is impossible to verify, the explanation is more convincing than the facts. You say, Ramiro is sending someone to watch Charlotte now? I don't think it's necessary, for reasons you've heard.
"And now I can tell you more precisely that Charlotte's source energy movement caused by her power, even if she herself doesn't feel it at all, is amazingly large with the help of supernatural matter. Now that she no longer created this huge source energy movement, if she wants to continue the plot to seize the bloodline around her, she has to weigh what is going on and whether it is worth continuing. β
The expert took a sip of flower tea, and a cloud of sorrow gradually appeared on his face: "... But why did the church ask you at this time, and not directly to Charlotte? I always thought they were chasing other clues. β
Ofiecher drank the flower tea in his cup: "That's the second thing. The night before, a dazed messenger seemed to recognize me as someone else after getting drunk. We had a brief conversation in front of the tavern where my lady and I are now staying. β
He looked into Finn's eyes, "This messenger was killed last night. β
Finn jerked down the bone china cup in his hand: "What?"
"The church seems to have suspected that I and Miss I were some kind of accomplice in the previous events, and that they are still plotting some horrific plot......"
"Wait!"
Fein stopped Ofeucher's words. He stared at his left finger until some kind of black liquid like jelly oozed out of it.
The liquid smeared onto Finn's closed left eyelid and slowly melted into it, leaving no residue. When he opened his left eye, he saw some kind of strange dark streamer of light in it. In Ofei's eyes, Finn's left eye is a bit like a negative contrast inverted colorful light mist, the black part is brighter than the white part, and it is really uncomfortable to look at.
Fein stared at Ofey for a moment with his left eye and began to murmur, "That doesn't make sense...... Nothing has changed for you or Charlotte since the incident. Even after you do something similar to drawing power directly from essentia, the source energy you emit doesn't look the same...... Why, all of a sudden, start with the people you come in contact with...... The starting point is not Charlotte's side, so why the hell is this happening......"
Bell Bell Bell β Bell Bell Bell ββ!!
Before Finn could finish his thoughts, the room bell rang. Only then did Ofeichher notice that there was a string of bells tied to the four corners of the ceiling of the room, and there were no wires associated with it, but there was a place where it shook wildly.
"It's because of me!"
I saw that Finn had flashed to the messy side of the room with a single arrow step, and grabbed his silver-white sword from nowhere. At the same time, he tossed the brainless conclusion and a small glass bottle of indigo liquid to Ofeicher.
Finn lunged to the small window in another lunge and closed the planks of the window.
"Stay away from the door and hide in the room!"
When Finn shouted again, there were footsteps on the stone staircase.
Bang!!
The thin door panel was easily smashed, and the upper body of the attacker, with three hands, had invaded the house.
Ofiicher looked back, and barely saw the appearance of the neighbor's dog breeder in the body of the demon.
