Chapter 860: Sixty-Nine Grades

Whether it's a teacher or a group leader, the more you trust you, the more you have to follow the rules and set an example for others.

If someone is in the group, don't let others tell him the precepts, be strict in everything, maintain moral standards, and there is no unsuccessful. So the precepts of the liturgy are like this.

What are the basic moral vows other than layman, novice, bhikshu, bhikshuni, and bodhisattva? The scriptures are the precepts.

You have not studied the Vinaya, which is based on the fact that all the scriptures are precepts, and every single one is a precept.

Do you think that having received more than 200 vows is a precept? That act is too limited, and most of the more than 200 precepts are related to the environment in India at that time, and we will not commit it.

There are many that there is no way at all, we have already committed it, even the ancestor has committed it.

The environment is different, the times are different, and those precepts should have been changed a long time ago.

So when he came to China, Zen Master Baizhang changed it and called it the rules of the jungle.

But now the rules of the jungle should be changed.

There are many things to change, and the times are different, and there are many places to change. For example, in the past, jungle monks queued up to take a bath once every half a month, is it okay now? These are all life behaviors, and a lot of them need to be changed, and this is not a true vow. What are the real vows? This heart follows the meaning of protecting the Tao is the true precept, and the mind follows the intention of protecting the Tao, and the mind follows the act of protection.

Further, the true precept is "to be happy to stick to the precepts, to be willing to endure humiliation and gentleness." Especially in group life, how many people can cultivate to endure humiliation? On the contrary, he insulted others ruthlessly, gave people a good look, and thought that this was enough to be heroic, but in fact, he was creating evil everywhere.

Can you be gentle in temperament? Gentleness is difficult, and harmony is even more difficult.

I often observe people who turn into poisonous snakes when something doesn't meet their expectations.

Tell you that the eyes and the heart are connected, and that is the cause of this thought, and in your alayas there is a seed of hatred! It's incredible! Therefore, learning Buddhism is not a matter of cross-legged and cross-legged, these are all precepts, and it is not good to do it badly.

And not only to endure humiliation and gentleness, but also to be willing to endure humiliation and gentleness, and to do so is the result of being happy to adhere to the precepts.

"Leqin collects good roots", this and the above are connected. Persisting in the precepts has been done, the cultivation is from the outside and then comes in, from the forbearance to the inner softness and harmony, there is no place that does not make people have a peaceful atmosphere, and everyone likes it.

There is a saying among those who study Buddhism, before learning Buddhism, they should first become popular, that is, the first step in learning Buddhism is to give generously, first to form relationships, and then to form relationships with all sentient beings.

But many people don't reflect on themselves, and they hate anyone when they see it, and they hate it when they look at him. Why is it unpopular?

Because he does not have a sufficient moral foundation in his heart, he has lived many lives without cultivating forbearance and humiliation, not being soft, and not being harmonious, so he slowly rolls in reincarnation! Merit will not be complete.

If the mind can be cultivated to softness, softness and peace, then everyone will love it, and it is the bodhisattva realm that everyone likes, and the merits will be complete.

To be willing to cultivate in this aspect is the path of the Buddha.

We know that all sentient beings have a lot more bad thoughts than good thoughts in their daily lives.

As mentioned earlier, Confucianism is equivalent to Buddhism's Vinaya, and they all speak of precepts.

When you are young, you must read the two books "Wenchang Emperor Yin Qi Wen" and "Taishang Induction Chapter".

When I was a child, I was reading a book, and there was a piece of paper next to the desk, called Gong Guoge, and there were many circles on this paper, one a month.

Check your mind and behavior every day, if there is a bad one, take a black pen and point it in the circle, and if there is a good one, take a red pen and point it in the circle, and then check it regularly, whether there are more black spots or more red dots.

When I was a child, my family invited a Mr. Xiucai, according to the saying at that time, my family was the owner, and he was the west. He is a foreigner, but he never speaks foreign languages, and he reads the Diamond Sutra by himself every day in addition to teaching me to read.

He was a vegetarian, so my mother prepared a fast for him every day.

I often felt that there was a fragrance in this gentleman's mouth, and I thought it was strange, so I asked my mother, and she said that it must be that the gentleman's teeth were loose, and the sesame seeds in the vegetarian dishes fell between the teeth.

I took a closer look at my husband's teeth during the lesson, and sure enough! It's a laugh.

But he was very sincere, one year he stayed in my house for the New Year, and after he read the scriptures in his room, he offered the tablets of his ancestors, offered the bodhisattvas, showed his merits, and looked at it very nervously, so he knelt and slapped himself, and scolded damned! Damn it! I think it's because there are more black dots than red dots.

I was curious, I peeked at the gentleman through the crack in the door, and it was true.

"Wenchang Emperor Jun Yin Qi Wen" and "Taishang Induction Chapter", I still keep them. Practicing like this is called diligent gathering of good roots.

Good must be rooted! Sometimes we have good thoughts and good hearts, but they don't go to the roots.

Just about to be kind to people and do a little bit of good deeds, suddenly another stimulating environment comes, and they don't care about anything, and they hate more than when they don't do good, because the good roots have not been achieved, so the cultivation will not be fruitful.

To "diligently gather good roots", this is the 37 Bodhi Paths that people often don't pay much attention to, and there is a special focus on this thing, but unfortunately you only use it as a term for Buddhism.

Cultivating the Tao and studying Buddhism, precepts, concentration, and wisdom, if they cannot be completed, the merit cannot be completed, and how can the merit be consummated? It is necessary to gather good roots diligently, and to do good deeds must plant the foundation and bury the roots deeply in order to achieve it.
